The darkness has descended upon us
The candle glows before us
No one speaks at first
But then a conversation begins
Soon we all speak loudly
With fierce passion
Arguing our own points
We laugh together
And smile together
After a long time
Sometimes it’s hard to remember
How to converse
With each other this way
Without staring into the screens
Of our technology
That we are so proud of
When I wrote “The Darkness” the electricity had gone and we were all just for once sitting down. Not doing anything on our laptop or mobile which was really different and it kind of made me realise how technology has sort of taken over our lives and how we need to embrace the present more. We have come to rely too much on technology in some ways and it may be a good idea to step back from it occasionally. What do you guys think?
