Anxiety- Poetry

I feel my hands shake

My heart beats faster

But I still can’t breathe

I feel like

I’m running out of air

Every part of me is sweating

My fingers feel numb

And my mind doesn’t seem to be working either

My head is spinning

And my ears are ringing

And my mouth is dry

Nothing makes sense anymore

Everything is out of control

My Monday post was about anxiety so I thought I would write a poem about what it feels to have anxiety and panic attacks. I have experienced anxiety and was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. Anxiety can be difficult. And it can be more difficult because what you are experiencing is technically irrational. Explain how you feel to others is near impossible. I always feel like I sound a bit crazy when I try to explain it. However, I do find it helpful to write about my experiences with my mental health. And I hope it helps others out there who may be experiencing something similar.

    1. Yeah anxiety can really suck and sometimes people think you’re asocial when in reality you’re just anxious

      1. My way of playing it off is that I’m claustrophobic and need to be by an exit.

        1. Yeah I’ve used that excuse. I pretty much just excuse myself whenever there are too many people around
