The Writers Woes

I’m afraid

That I’ve run out of things to write

I’m afraid

That I’ll never be good enough

I’m afraid

That no one will ever read my work

I’m afraid

That I’ll have to give up writing

I’m afraid

That my work will never be appreciated

I’m afraid

That I’ll have nothing to write about

I’m afraid

That my dreams will fall apart

I’m afraid

That I’ll have nothing left to write

“The Writers Woes” first appeared on Lifesfinewhine. “The Writers Woes” is about what it is like to be a writer and to live in a world full of imagination. As a writer, most of us tend to mostly live in our head. And this comes with its own problems. These are some of the thoughts I have had as a writer. And they are some of the fears I have had as a writer. These are the things I fear most. If you are a writer do you find any of these relatable? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. Fear is only in the mind. There are billions of things to write about. The world is being ransacked; it is full of people all of whom are different; it is full of motives, lies and intrigue. You have views. Who cares if anybody likes them? If you were on a desert island you’d still write. Creativity is an essential part of being human. If we cease to create we die!

    1. Yeah absolutely agree. Creativity is necessary especially in this day and age when the only thing people seem to care about is money and getting a job.

  2. You just described my fears.

  14. I can certainly identity with this piece, though I try not to think of these things. If I dwell on such thoughts for long I could get discouraged, so instead I just keep writing and putting my work out there. The best way to fight fear and insecurities is to combat them within your work 😉

    1. Yeah you are so right! When I think too much about all these negative things it’s hard for me to write and I just get really sad. I guess all we can do is write and hope everything works out! 🙂 🙂
