I am torn
Between the life I want
And the life I am accustomed to
I can’t seem to choose
Happiness or safety?
What I need
Or what I already know?
“I Am Torn” is a poem about life choices and how the grass always seems to look greener on the other side. Humans always tend to have a hard time making choices. Something about how our brain is wired. As someone with anxiety, I think I experience indecisiveness to the extreme. I always have a difficult choice making decisions. Even the small ones are difficult but the big ones are the worst. Recently, a lot has been going on in my life where I have had to make choices. And many of these choices are pretty big, life changing choices. It’s not easy making them but it is a part of life I need to learn to deal with. That’s what “I Am Torn” was inspired by.
