Happy- A Poem

I feel myself

Slowly floating away

Moving skyward

With no certain destination

I feel light

Yet filled with hope

I feel happy

“Happy” is a poem that first appeared on Lifesfinewhine. Happy is a poem that I wrote recently and wanted to share it on the blog with you guys. As many of you know, I suffer from what is commonly referred to as clinical depression. Some days can be a lot harder than others. However, some days are truly wonderful. And those are the days I want to concentrate on. Those are the days I want to be grateful for because each moment of happiness is truly a blessing. No one knows this more than a person who suffers from depression.

What is one of the happiest moments you ever experienced in your life? Do you believe humans can truly be happy? Are you happy? Let me know in the comments below because I would love to hear your thoughts. And do let me know what you thought of the poem.

  2. Nice poem and well composed.
I found it awkward when people say “they are in pursuit of happiness”. We are born happy and happiness is not a place or things to run after. Happiness comes from within. Being grateful and optimistic always is root of happiness.

    1. Yes I couldn’t agree more! People always think that material items or finding a s/o will bring them happiness but the truth is you will never be truly happy with anyone else or with material items until you learn to be happy on your own. Happiness always comes from within you.

  3. It’s a short poem but it evoke feelings of lightheartedness. The happiness in the poem is contagious, it brightens enough my gloomy disposition.
