We left early on Tuesday morning for Fairmount Mount Kenya Safari Club at about 8 am. We had decided to drive since we thought a road trip would be fun which it was!
Some of the places we drove by had little huts like these where farmers lived.
There was so much amazing greenery on the way there and I was really grateful that we decided to drive there because we would have missed some amazing nature!
This is the first gate that you see when you first arrive at Fairmount.
This was the first thing you saw as soon as you entered the hotel.
This was the beautifully decorated reception area where we waited till our cottage was ready.
There was even a hand carved chess set in case you got a little bored while waiting!
More of the beautiful decorations!
One of the first things we saw were these beautiful and magnificently elegant peacocks which was amazing because it was my first time seeing a peacock. They were quite friendly too so we could walk quite close to them without being afraid of being attacked! This place is actually known for all the different types of birds that live there so it you love birds and birdwatching this is the place to be!
This was one of the peacocks displaying it’s feathers!
This is what it can see from the reception area and this is where the peacocks usually are.
There’s an area of the hotel where the equator passes through so technically the hotel is on two different hemispheres!
This was the view of the hotel from the other side.
This was the view from the window near the bar.
Of course no holiday is complete without an amazing book! I had a great time reading this one by the pool and getting a cute tan.
This was the amazing pool area which included an area for a bunch of different activities including basketball, table tennis, lawn tennis, a maze, a trampoline, bow and arrows, and more.
At lunch this beautiful peacock decided to join us!
This was the dinner place
We were lucky enough to have dinner right by the fire both the nights we were there!
And the first night we had some delicious pizza!!
It took us about four hours to drive there and about three hours to get back.
Conclusively this place was very clean, the atmosphere was just absolutely wonderful, the staff was incredibly helpful and always friendly, the animals and birds were so fun to see, the food was delicious and there were so many activities to do we weren’t bored for even a minute! I would highly recommend Fairmount Mount Kenya Safari Club if you’re ever in Kenya or Nanyuki. Everything considered I would give it a 4.5/5. Oh and if you’re ever there take some warm clothes with you because it does get chilly at night!
