5 Must-Watch TV Series This Summer

Seeing as most of the action has been taken off the big screen and into our TV devices, it’s only natural that there are so many great shows out there to watch. So, instead of spending your summer checking what famous people on Snapchat are doing every day, why not binge-watch one (or more) of these awesome shows? Here are some must-watch TV series for this summer.

1. Game of Thrones

Yes, we are fully aware that the latest season of Game of Thrones is nearly over, however, that doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to remind yourself of the good, old times when Sean Bean and Jason Momoa were still on the show.

The epic fantasy show has been running since 2011, with its second to last season broadcasting the final episode on August 27. HBO really outdid itself with this one, because it turned a somewhat well-known series of books into a global phenomenon full of sex, violence and freaking dragons we all know and love.

2. Rick and Morty

It may seem like a silly kid’s show, but it’s nothing of the sort – Rick and Morty follows the titular characters, a super-smart scientist and his not-so-smart grandson on their dark and hilarious adventures through many ridiculous scenarios.

This Adultswim animated show is currently airing its third season with four more episodes left. With Justin Roiland voicing both of the series’ main characters, you’re bound for one hell of a ride with this show

3. The Man in the High Castle

When it comes to alternative history, no TV show comes close to the Amazon Original The Man in the High Castle. Instead of the Allied Forces winning WWI, this show depicts an alternate North America that lost the war to the Nazis.

Season 2 of this show aired in December 2016, while its third season is yet to come to our small screens this year. That’s exactly why you should catch up to the story that features actors like Alexa Davalos, Rupert Evans, Luke Kleintank, DJ Qualls, and more.

4. Ozark

If you liked Breaking Bad, you’ll simply love Ozark. Imagine not only Walter White, but his whole family being in on the criminal activity. Whilst trying to avoid being murdered by a drug cartel. This pretty much sums up the plot of Ozark.

It just began airing this year with the finale of season 1 hitting our TVs in late July. Jason Bateman and Laura Linney are the main stars of this Netflix masterpiece. Which means you absolutely have to binge-watch it while it’s fresh.

5. Lucifer

God, devil, religion – all of these are rather controversial topics. Unless you hand them over to Fox and let them make a TV show about it. Lucifer tells the story of, well, Lucifer, who decided to quit ruling Hell by moving to Los Angeles on opening a night club.

The show is packed with amazing humour mostly coming from Tom Ellis. He plays the lead role, but it also features incredible acting and some awesome action scenes. Season 2 ended in late May this year. So better get on with binge-watching this masterpiece before the next season hits in October.

  1. The Man in the High Castle was written by Philip K Dick. I met him back in 1980 and went round his house for an evening. I was a bit in awe.
