Sometimes Life Just Happens

So if you’ve noticed I haven’t been on the blog for a bit or posting it’s because life happens. My amazing WiFi decided to stop working. Just randomly decided nope I’m not going to work anymore who cares how inconvenient it will be for everyone. I’m not going to lie, my WiFi does act out like that sometimes. It’s super annoying and extremely inconvenient. I feel like being someone who’s life is mostly online is fun until the WiFi stops working and then everything just falls apart. And you no longer have anything going on in life and kind of just:

Oh and then my laptop fell apart. I mean it literally just randomly fell apart as soon and I opened it. Like my screen literally is in two separate pieces now. I have no idea what happened, it hasn’t even fallen or anything recently. It just totally randomly decided to turn itself into multiple parts instead of being one full laptop…

Anyway I’ll be blogging as per usual from next week if my WiFi and laptop decide to behave. I am not sure if they will though. If I am being fully transparent with you guys, technology does not like me very much. I have a tendency of rubbing it the wrong way and everything I own slowly falling apart. Which as a blogger who lives online is always fun…

Fingers crossed that things will work out for the best. I have no doubt that my WiFi will be back to normal soon since this has happened before. It’s the laptop I’m actually worried about. But life happens I guess.

  1. Hope all gets better

    1. Thank you! It kind of has!

      1. My pleasure. Stay awesome

  2. Life’s unpredictable moments. You’ve gotta love them. LOL! I hope it all starts pulling together for you soon.

    1. Lol thanks! Yup life is super unpredictable and that’s why it’s fun!

      1. True. Very true, indeed. 😊

  3. IT equipment sucks!!

    1. Yes it does!!!

  4. I can honestly say, and dont want to give you an unwanted advice. Put some investment in a 10.1 tablet and get any service provider that can make your time well spent. i sure do hope you can make do from my Unwanted, that is if you can make do with the financial budget and sacrifices. I hope and pray everything will be good to you.

    1. Thank you so much for the advice and I will definitely look into it!! All the best!

  5. Don’t you just LOVE wi-fi and all the amazing things it can do when you don’t want it to, mine cuts in and out sometimes when I am netflixing LOL I hate when I am blogging and it cuts out because sometimes things don’t save in time and i am having to retype everything or having to restart my laptop >.< funny thing is, my old laptop never did this mess, and now this new one does it quite often.

    1. I think some computers and operating systems are better matched with the wifi card/drivers than others. I did the free win 10 upgrade from 7 and had to revert because wifi cut out a lot with 10 but not with 7… On the very same laptop! ☺

      1. Yeah that’s true I didn’t like Windows 10 either! My WiFi didn’t work as well and it was just kind of messing up my laptop in general!

      2. Hmm, this is true. I was just mentioning that maybe I should look at seeing if any of my computers drivers are down or need updated or something, otherwise, I may need to go back to windows 8 >.< which wouldn't be so bad. Although the Wi-fi card may indeed the issue as well but good to know I am not the only one. What made you decide to finally revert back?

        1. Myself, I’ve never had Win8, just 7 and 10. I liked 10 because you can backup the OS on a USB instead of using up your hard drive. BUT… no matter what I did Win 10 kept cutting out. I tried older drivers, medium age drivers and the latest drivers for my Wifi. I even tried a different, external USB wifi…
I think all the ads in Win10 have something to do with it. Not sure. I remember having some success with one particular driver. But even then I had to reconnect every time I booted up.
Then I reinstalled Win10 and lost that driver… so I just went back to Win7. Hope this makes sense! 🙂

          1. Oh wow! okay! that is a lot of attempts. I guess I never assumed it was the Windows 10 doing this, but it does happen to make sense. I might have to revert or maybe I could try the different drivers like yourself and see if those work first. Honestly, it just becomes annoying after a while when I constantly have to reboot the computer or put it in sleep mode for like 5 minutes then wake it up to have the internet come back ,lol

            1. I know it’s a total drag and makes pretty much whatever you’re doing impossible. Windows IMO should have mentioned these possible probs b4 telling everyone that the ‘free update’ was compatible. Not only time wasted but reverting to original state (without a lot of junk files from Win10) was tricky. I managed to use original DVD discs. But it took some doing. 🙂

              1. Sounds like a total nightmare. I assumed there would be bugs within the system, because it is a new OS but still, I guess I never got the news on the possibility of it effecting my computers wi-fi driver. You have been a saving grace on the topic, at least I am well aware that I am not alone on this rant, lol

                1. lol… I tried later versions… partly cos I liked the funky Win10 logo 🙂 But I found the same thing. Looking over Best Buy (a big US tech store in case you are not in the US or Canada) I read that even some new computers cut in and out with Win 10. So… buyer beware. 🙂

                  1. Yeah I think Windows 10 still has some bugs it needs to deal with and some computers are just not compatible with it.

                  2. Yes, I live in Ohio, and used to work at BESTBUY , and you would think this would have been something I knew better about (haven’t work there in like 3 years) but it slips my mind. So happy I was able to find this all out after my purchase! hahahahaha 😛 This is what happens when you lack in research — “Don’t follow my lead” lol

                    1. ☺That is funny you worked at Best Buy! I still look forward to Fridays because that’s when they list their new sales up here in Toronto. We used to have a comparable store called Future Shop but Best Buy bought it out! So there’s less competion in the hardware world. Seems to be a trend…🏧💰🙂

                    2. I’m in St. Catharines which (kinda near Toronto!) which has a BestBuy too but I’ve only ever bought a charger there.

                    3. It tends to be overpriced for smaller items. I get all my cables from China and Hong Kong (Amazon). Or maybe dollar store, which must be in St. Cats. 🙂

                    4. Yeah I get most of my things at the dollar store too but unfortunately this one wasn’t there and I really needed it!

                    5. ps one other thing I meant to mention about WiFi was that you might try adjusting your “roaming sensitivity.” It didn’t make it any better for me but who knows, maybe for someone else. Just make note of your default setting b4 making changes! 🙂
                      https://www.google.ca/search?q=roaming+sensitivity+setting&rlz=1C1LENN_enCA797CA797&oq=raoming+sensitivity+&aqs=chrome.4.69i57j0l5.6351j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

                    6. Thank you so much I had no idea roaming sensitivity was a thing! I’ll check it out it might help!

                    7. I hope it helps. 🙂

                    8. I hope so too because the WiFi is really getting on my nerves 😂

                    9. Thank you for sending this link to me, appreciate this, never heard of roaming sensitivity.

                2. Lol you’re definitely not alone! Actually Windows 10 made my laptop crash and act really weird for a bit which is why I ended up getting rid of it so I would suggest trying a different Windows version!

                  1. I definitely will be looking into this, glad I have some techy nerds to speak to about this 😛 because I am a techny nerd too , so it is always fun!

              2. Yeah it was kind of difficult for me to revert to Windows 8 as well. It was wrong of them to offer the update when it obviously wasn’t completely ready. Almost everyone I know who updated to Windows 10 ended up going back to their original Windows.

        2. My laptop crashed because Windows 10 was just not working well with it and I decided to go back to Windows 8 instead of reinstalling Windows 10

    2. Hahah yup WiFi seems to have a personality of its own! I used to lose stuff too but now I type it out on Word first and then just copy it to WordPress and post it cos I hate retyping stuff. I started doing most of it on Word because Kenyan WiFi works for like 20 minutes a day and if you aren’t done by then you’re screwed.
It might be windows 10 messing up your new laptop cos it was messing with mine and I had to go back to windows 8.

      1. Sorry to budge into the conversation… well not really or I wouldn’t be doing it.. 🙂 So my tablet crashes a lot when I do comments. I figure it’s God’s way / The Universe’s way of telling me that the thing shouldn’t have been written in the first place. Some would say that’s nutty but I’ve been saved by some crashes! (not sending something that wouldn’t have done any good..).

        1. Haha yeah that actually makes a lot of sense! I definitely think the universe sends us signs so maybe it’s the universes way of telling us not to post that?

          1. Yeah it’s when people read too much into things that probs arise imo. Be happy now. Live in the moment! I’m reminding myself of this more often these days. 🙂

            1. Yeah I try to remind myself of that too because I can be a pretty control person and like to schedule everything and freak out when the slightest thing goes wrong but I’m working on it and have gotten a bit better.

              1. When I was an undergrad I plotted everything on a calendar… When to write essays, when to study for exams, etc. I guess I still do that with appointments and social calls.. online calendar now of course! 😊 But if I look forward to a weekend, for instance, it invariably doesn’t live up to expectations. So I try to be here now, as the old cliche goes.🌍💡🔆

                1. Yeah I do that too and plot everything and have timings for everything but I’m trying to be in the moment these days too!

                  1. Ever since I went to India for grad school contemplation came easily to me. I used to joke with PhD candidates back in Ottawa that I was the reverse of most North Americans… They were trying to stop their thoughts and i was trying to dance. 😁 Ps beautiful shot at instagram. Reminds me of a beach in Pondicherry.

                    1. Haha that is so nice and it’s true most people are trying to avoid their thoughts and their inner most feelings. I do that too sometimes but it’s awesome that you’re able to be free and actually listen to your mind!
Thank you I love the beach! Need to go back sometime!

                    2. Ah the beach. I was at one yesterday in Port Hope. Hadn’t been out of the city for months. Nature is like a brain-scrub. Mind you, an ocean is different from a lake. 🌛

                    3. Yes definitely nature is so wonderful it just completely clears your head!

                    4. Now that I’m older I find little pockets of nature in the ravines and make the most of them. Not the same as the real thing but when stuck in the city one must survive any which way!

                    5. Yeah I mean you need some nature no matter where you live and I guess this works!

                    6. Sorta… Just went for my third bike ride in three days. Almost glad they’re calling for rain tomorrow. 🙂😹

      2. Seriously? Hmm, I didn’t think about the windows 10 aspect. It could be, I might have to go back to windows 8 or check to make the drivers and things are okay. Blah. Do you like the windows 8 platform?

        1. I like Windows 8 and haven’t had any problems with it so far.

          1. You prefer it over Windows 10?

            1. Yeah I prefer it and haven’t had any major problems so far compared to everything that went wrong in about the one month I had Windows 10.

  6. It’s pretty much all happened to me. These days I cobble together older equip and combinations thereof instead of buying new stuff… until i absolutely have to, that is!

Team Viewer app is amazing. Can run all sorts of old stuff thru one half decent machine… sorta… a cheap tablet for videos helps, as one poster said.. 🙂

    1. Yeah I feel the same way. I hate wasting money on new stuff when it’s going to fall apart anyway and so I try to use my old devices as much as I can too.

Team Viewer sounds good I’ll check it out for sure!

      1. The portable edition is less convenient but doesn’t run services on your machine all the time (Geek here). 😀

        1. Ooh ok! Lol I’m glad you know so much about this I’m just totally dumb when it comes to technology 😣

          1. Actually me too. I learn as I go along. Necessity is the mother of…😁

            1. Haha I guess that’s how it is for everything! We only learn from experience.

  7. I hope everything’s working again perfectly!!

    1. It is thank you so much!!

  8. Hahahahahahahahaha! 😂😂😂

    1. Lol ikr you should come over and look at my laptop screen smh 🤦‍♀️ 😂

      1. Like how? What were you doing?? Such weird crap happens to you lol

        1. Literally I went to switch it on in the morning and opened the lid and it fell apart! Just out of the blue!

          1. Things in your house always happen out of the blue #haunted

            1. Lol it’s defo haunted like honestly I’m scared to even go to the bathroom cos the light keeps flickering or switching on and off randomly…

You’re most welcome. As I say it never helped me but why not try! The ONLY other thing I might mention to you both is something I also tried. You can buy inexpensive USB WiFi adapters that you could use INSTEAD of your built-in WiFi. But there’s no guarantee they will work. So if you try that, make sure you get it where you can return for full refund (if it doesn’t work). I bought one by TENDA (a Chinese replica of RAWLINK) which I use on an old Desktop that never had wifi. It is not 100%. But with my laptop it seemed to work pretty well with Win10. Never tested it fully.

Just a suggestion before shelling out big bucks for a new computer… 🙂

Here’s the one I bought. Can’t beat the price! But it might not work with your machines.

    1. Thank you!! It’s all better now!

  10. I recently stumbled upon your blog and I have no regrets whatsoever. It’s beautiful. Do check out my personal blog if you’ve got the time? https://mywronglywrite.wordpress.com/2018/06/24/i-think-i-love-you-pb-3/

    1. Thank you so much and I will definitely check your blog out too! Thanks for stopping by and leaving the lovely comment!

  11. Ha ha. Loved this and your gifs. So perfect and funny. Thanks for sharing a real look at your day. ❤️

    1. Haha glad you enjoyed the gifs and the post!!

  12. Some days are just meant for eye rolls! Great use of minimalist text and graphics. We hear you.

    1. Haha thanks!!
