Six Word Story:
My makeup cannot mask my pain.
About This Six Word Story:
I’m back with another six word story because I’m really enjoying these. I hope everyone is having fun reading them as well.
This six word story in particular is inspired by societal norms. I think as humans, we are often expected to mask our true emotions especially when they are negative emotions such as pain, sadness, anger etc. And we are expected to be okay all the time. For a species that constantly asks one another, “how are you?” we don’t always answer this question honestly. In fact, most of us say we’re okay even when we are not. Which leads to toxic positivity.
But there are certain types of pain we just can not hide. No matter how much we pretend some stuff leave cracks and scars that we can no longer hide. And I think that’s okay. I think always masking is a really bad idea because it leads to suppressing your emotions which leads to mental health issues in the long run.
Have you ever felt like you have reached rock bottom? Do you ever feel the need to mask pain for the sake of living in a way that is socially acceptable? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below because I would love to hear them. Or simply just stop by and say hi! And don’t forget to leave your own six word story in the comments because I always enjoy reading them!
