Helena is a sensitive young girl. She just wanted to live like a normal teenager, to go on parties and date guys. She was not popular but soon things will change. She was not aware of her power which crosses the limits. Some people are injured, others are dead, and Helena is afraid to sleep. The background of this book is social life in Croatia during 90’s.
“Nina tried to understand her, but it was no use. Some girls had asked Nina why the two hung out together when they were so different in nature. Sometimes, she asked herself the same because Helena had an interesting personality and friendship with her was a real challenge. But, she was loyal. She knew about her parents, and it was a bigger reason to keep a connection.”
My Thoughts
Like most of Gallo’s stories I found this one interesting and unique. I am a pretty big fan of books which are psychological thrillers/horror and I thought this one had a very interesting plot and a unique story line.
The books is based in Croatia about a girl called Helena who has a sort of dull and sad life. However, things change when her dreams get a little too real. She gains the power to hurt her enemies in her dreams which lead to a lot of events that alter her life.
If you’re a fan of horror/thrillers I would definitely recommend checking this book out and giving it a read because it’s super fascinating and of course it’s always a good idea to support writers!
