A Day In My Life

A Day In My Life

A Day In My Life

Recently I took a survey to see what kind of posts you guys would like to see on lifesfinewhine and I got a bunch of really fun ideas and A DAY IN MY LIFE was one of these ideas. I thought it would be fun to share my daily routine with you guys and just kind of give you an idea of what my day is like. I know there’s isn’t a lot going on in my daily life right now since I don’t have school and stuff but I still try to keep busy. With everything going on at the moment I don’t really go out much unless I need something from the store. This is what I did yesterday which was a Sunday so it was kind of a relaxed day for me.

I really hope you enjoy this post and thank you Bookish Refreshment for suggesting this post idea! I think this is such a fun post to do and I really hope you enjoy reading the post as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Wake up, meditation and breathing exercises (9:30 am to 10:30 am)

I try really hard to start my day with meditation and breathing exercises. As you guys know I suffer from anxiety but meditation and breathing exercises really help me out with it especially when I start my day out with it. It just makes my whole day so much better. I can’t always do it in the morning but I try really hard to do it whenever I can.

Eat breakfast (10:30 am to 11:00 am)

So, technically I don’t eat my breakfast I tend to drink it. And by that I mean I usually start the day with smoothies, tea or some protein milk. I feel gross when I eat for breakfast so I like to keep it simple.

Check on blog (11:00 am to 12:00 am)

Next I check up on my blog and go through my comments and check out some other blogs and stuff. I usually do this for about forty-five minutes to an hour.

Make lunch (12:00 pm to 2:00 pm)

After working on my blog for a bit I usually start working on my lunch and finish eating my lunch. Today, I decided to make a vegetable pancake- it turned out delicious and I’ll definitely be putting the recipe on my blog soon!

Check social media and emails (2:00 pm to 3:00pm)

After lunch I check out my social media and reply to stuff, check out my feed and reply to DM’s. I try to limit my social media time these days so I try to spend like fifteen/twenty minutes on each.

Check on blog (3:00pm to 3:40 pm)

I check on my blog again for a while and schedule the post for the day.

Duolingo (3:40 pm to 4:00 pm)

As you guys know I’ve been learning German on Duolingo again which has been super fun! I started from the beginning again just to remind myself the basic stuff. I usually spend about fifteen to twenty minutes doing my daily lesson.

Plan out the week (4:00 pm to 4:20 pm)

I like to plan out my posts for the week on Sunday so I know exactly what I’ll be posting and when. And, I like to have my posts ready in advance in case something happens to come up or I get busy. I usually use this adorable dog themed planner my sister got me!

Write +edit post and create + edit images (4:20 pm to 6:00 pm)

I begin writing my posts after planning out the posts for the week because I like to get them done at least a day or two in advance. It takes a while to write and edit the post, create and edit the images etc so I just prefer to do everything in advance.

Make dinner (6:00 pm to 8:00 pm)

After doing this I like to start cooking dinner. I prefer to have a light dinner- usually something rice based. Today I decided to make a Korean cauliflower dish with rice- recipe coming soon! I ate it with seaweed and kimchi

Watch TV (8:00 pm to 9:00 pm)

After dinner I like to relax for a bit so I watch a TV show or a movie or something. I’m super into The Simpsons right now. Oh and if anyone has good movie recommendations please let me know in the comments!

Check on the scheduled post and blog (9:00 pm to 9:30 pm)

I check up on my blog again to make sure my scheduled post has gone up because WP can be annoying sometimes. I answer some more comments, look through other blogs and write some more.

Read (9:30 pm to 10:15 pm)

After this I like to take it easy and read for a while. Sometimes I drink some chamomile tea while reading because it’s very calming and helps me sleep better. Currently, I am rereading The Little Prince which is one of my favourite books of all time.

Check on everything one last time (10:15 pm to 10:30 pm)

I check on social media, my blog and my emails one last time before bed. I do this about half an hour to an hour before I go to bed because doing something on a screen right before you go to sleep makes it more difficult to sleep. So I try not to use my phone right before bed.

Meditate (10:30 to 10:50 pm)

Before bed I like to meditate again because this helps me calm my brain down and put me in the right mental state to go to sleep. This is also when I take my CBD oil every two days.

Sleep (10:50-ish pm)

Finally, I go to bed and that’s pretty much the end of my day!

    1. Very interesting schedule- thanks for sharing it! And I’m glad you enjoyed reading mine!

  5. Hi Pooja,
    Thanks for sharing your schedule.
I’m assuming you are getting paid blogging as that’s a lot of time on being on the computer checking your blog, social media etc. Am I assuming correctly? It’s bitter sweet for me to be checking all of these platforms but good to know if that is what it takes to build a following.

    1. Thank you! I’m a part time blogger not full time yet but I spend more time checking on my blog social media these days as my school is done till fall and I have a lot more free time on my hands. Working on my blog helps me have something to do and yes spending more time on blogging is helping me grow. It’s usually a lot less when I have university work to do.

      1. Glad it came through. Still trying to navigate. It sounds like a fullfilling endeavor which is what matters most. Thanks for clarifying as I’m navigating the system.

        1. Thanks! Yes it takes a while to understand everything and get comfortable with blogging for sure. Definitely very fulfilling!

  6. My routine during the shutdown- 7:30 wake up which is very hard for a night owl. 8:30 to 10:30 teach. 10:30 take a nap because waking up at 7:30 is brutal. After nap check my blog, prepare for evening class, and eat. 7 to 9 teach evening class. 9 check my blog, check other blogs I follow and write my post for the next day.

    1. If I wake up early I always need a nap as well! Sounds like a very interesting routine- thanks for sharing!

      1. Naps are our friends 🤗

  7. My routine changes from time to time because it all depends on what time I wake up. 😅 But for sure, there’ll not be a day where I don’t check my social media, blog and look at artworks. 😊

    1. Haha that’s me sometimes as well because I’m not always well organised and end up sleeping late which means I wake up late!

      1. Same here!! Haha. x

  8. I love hearing about others schedules! I’ve been using Duolingo again too recently — I really should start scheduling it into my days so I don’t just squeeze it in before bed!

    1. Thank you! Yeah having a fixed time for Duolingo helps! What language are you learning?

  9. Hi, Pooja it was my suggestion of this post and thank you for considering it 🙂

    1. Really enjoyed it!!

      1. So glad to hear that!

    2. Thank you so much for the suggestion- this was so fun to do! Do you mind if I link your blog to the post since you gave the suggestion?

      1. Thank you. I would be glad.

        1. I’ve added it!

            1. My pleasure!

  10. I’ve been a little stressed lately, and meditating sounds helpful, so I might try it out! Thanks for sharing your schedule, it encourages me to be more productive blog-wise 🙂

    1. Thank you and I would definitely recommend trying out meditation!!

  11. Hey pooja,
Thanks for sharing your routine !
I have some good Indian movie recommendations ,
    Ratsasan : Thriller, you’ll love it !
    Premam : Malayalam : romcom
    Andhadhun : Hindi : Thriller

    1. Thank you and thanks for the recommendations!

      1. You’re welcome !

  12. I feel like such a slug! I have things I have to do each day, like adventures in plumbing, etc. However, I rarely get everything done and can’t imagine how I did when I was working full-time before COVID. Yikes!!! What’s a schedule? 😂

    1. Haha that was me when lockdown began but I was like no I need to get my life together! However, I still do mess up sometimes and end up wasting most of the day.

    1. Thank you so much!!

      1. Anytime !😀

  13. My routine: no routine.

    1. Lol well that’s technically your routine!

      1. It sure is, Ma’am

  14. Wow you plan everything ahead I should be learning from you

    1. Thank you! I try as much as possible!

  15. Omg!!! You are amazing… If I write about a day in my life, it will be super funny…. Because I am a mess…. Hi Hi….

    1. Thank you!! You’re a parent so of course yours is more complicated then mine. I’m just at home chilling lol!

      1. Ha ha….

  16. Wow you schedule is very organized! Mine would be more like wake up, look at phone, try to wake up properly more time on the phone, drink coffee, eat while watching something on tv or my phone, drink green tea and eat some more, more green tea and YouTube, play with baby and more green tea… lol

    1. Okay but yours sounds way more fun though lol 😂

  17. I love the consistency! I don’t really have a planned out schedule but reading blogs is part of my daily routine.

    1. Thank you!

  18. I too have a daily routine but it’s very different from yours though there are similarities in that I plan and prepare in advance.

    1. That sounds interesting!

  19. A great way of daily routine. You have inspired me.

    1. Thank you so much!

      1. its all right,

  20. Very orderly!! Mine’s more chaotic!
You ought to check out the movie Hidden Figures. It a brilliant movie about the unknown black geniuses who were responsible for the success of NASA and the space race. It is a very watchable drama that really showed the racism and prejudice that was around and how three heroic ladies dealt with it to become central to NASA’s achievements.

    1. Thank you and I’ll be sure to check it out!

  21. Think less do more Poo.

    1. Absolutely!

  22. Wow, you get up late in the day.

    1. Yup- I don’t have much else to do but sleep these days haha!

  23. Very disciplined

    1. Thank you!

      1. You’re welcome

  24. So good to know that you meditate. I too want to start meditating!

    1. It’s so beneficial you should definitely get into it!

  25. Adam’s family? The animation (2019). In case you haven’t watched

    1. I haven’t seen that yet- I’ll be sure to check it out thanks!

      1. It’s so refreshingly unique, an excellent representation of the classic. Lemme stop otherwise I might spoil

        1. Ooh sounds good- I love the old one so I think I’ll love this one too

          1. Alright 🤞🏾

  26. I appreciate a well put together schedule. Thanks for sharing Pooja! 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Mio!

  27. I love how you meditate in the morning and night! It’s something I need to do more often, what’s your motivation secret??? 😀

    1. Thank you! I used to get lazy and only do it once in a while but once you force yourself to meditate every day for a few days it becomes a habit and it becomes easy to add to your schedule!

  28. I love your schedule. As a new blogger I have found the way you schedule time to read through your comments and other blogs very inspiring. Also can’t wait to get the recipe for the Korean cauliflower dish.

    1. Thank you so much and I think you’ll love the recipe- it’s so easy and delicious!

  29. how different is your typical day now compared to before the lockdown?

    1. VERY different and it had a lot more going out. I can’t wait to go back to that!

      1. Same here!

  30. Wow, girl. You’ve got everything well planned. No matter how much I try, most of my plans go awry. So I make it up as it goes. Loved reading about your day ❤️

    1. Thank you so much! My first few weeks were crazy and unscheduled but I’ve finally got a good schedule going. It’s not always this well planned every day though lol!

      1. I’m glad that you’re able to work singing out. You’re much better than me when it comes to planning 😉

  31. I like the schedule, especially the food part😇 and meditation. Everything is well planned.

    1. Thank you so much- I love the food too lol!

      1. U are welcome

  32. Your daily routine really inspires me.

    1. Thank you so much!

  33. Wow, you manage to do so much in a day and you’re super organised. I just live minute by minute, hour by hour lol. Not sure I could stick to a timetable cos I’m easily distracted. But well done to you.

    1. Thank you so much! It took me a while to find a schedule that worked but it was worth it. I’m not this organised when I have university classes though lol!

  34. Wow I love how you go about your day ❤️ Amazying!!! My own routine has been messed up since the beginning of this lockdown period… I am still trying to get back on track with my usual routine. Thanks for sharing your routine with us. ❤️❤️

    1. Thank you! Yeah I got super messed up for the first few weeks but I’ve finally found a schedule that’s working for me which is nice. Thanks for reading and commenting!

  39. It must be so hard to devote much of your day’s time to blogging, editing, scheduling and so much. But then if you love what u do and do what u love, u r in your zone, girl. much love <3

    1. It’s not that difficult when I’m on summer break but it’s a bit more tricky when I have school. I agree though- if you’re passionate about something you’ll find a way!

  40. Woah, it looks like you’ve got a well planned day! If I were to write a post like this; it would be the most disorganised routine ever. 😂😂
I also like how consistent you are with your blogging schedule. I’m wondering how long it took for you to find a schedule that worked for you.

    1. Haha thanks! I’m not always organized but I try my best to be.
It took me a few months to figure out my schedule but then I moved and started university which messed up my schedule. And then it took me about a year to find a schedule that worked for me while being a student.

  41. Interesting routine !! 💕

    1. Thank you!

      1. You’re very welcome 😊.

  44. I wish I’d be like you but every day, I try so hard to have a structured day and fail. The shackles of unproductivity won’t let me free🙈😔

    1. I get how you feel. I was like that too especially when lockdown started because my old schedule was gone completely. It takes a while to get a proper schedule but you’ll get there!

  45. […] Check out her post here […]

  46. My routine is hectic, I need to learn how to schedule my life and stick to it.. I try but keep changing and find it difficult to stick a schedule, we’ll done you’re so organised

        1. Yeah I definitely try my best!

  49. […] actually have that in detail in my A Day In My Life […]

  50. My mother is a very good planner. It has taken me over a decade to realise the benefits that come from effective planning and put my own plans down on paper. My plans at the moment are simply in a to-do list form, and apart from working during the day Monday to Friday and ultimate frisbee two nights a week, everything else is flexible as to when I do it throughout my day.
The one thing that is the same every day is I start with prayer and reading one of the Psalms from the bible. Spending peaceful time this way really helps me cope with any issues or frustrations that I might have at work or when I get onto writing my books.
Thank you for sharing your schedule. It’s really helpful to see how other bloggers plan and work. 🙂

    1. Thank you! I find planning and scheduling everything very beneficial too. I try to be flexible because not everything always goes as planned and that’s okay. However, as much as possible I try to stick to my schedule.

  51. Wow you have such a nice scheduled routine! It’s good to have it, especially for mental health!🥰

    1. Thank you so much! Scheduling everything really helps with my anxiety for sure!

  52. As someone who’s trying to up his productivity and his blogging output, I really enjoyed this post. Now I know it takes much more than posting one article per week to make something out of a blog. Thanks for sharing, Pooja!

    1. Thank you! Yes you definitely need to be consistent and active!

  53. Woah, your life is really organized. I wake up and move round the house then end up spending the rest of the day in front of a television screen.

    1. Thank you so much! Haha I do that once in while too but I try to be productive for the rest of the days.

  54. […] P.S. I love Pooja’s blog posts.  She has one on schedules which breaks down her schedule.   She is great writer with invaluable tips on scheduling, life in general and navigating Word Press.  Here is the article. […]
