I don’t miss you
I miss what we had
I don’t miss you
I miss who I thought you were
I don’t miss you
I miss the person you used to be
I don’t miss you
I miss who I was when I was with you
I don’t miss you
I miss how you made me feel
I don’t miss you
I just miss everything you used to be
I don’t miss you
I keep telling myself because deep down
I still miss you
About This Poem:
I don’t write poetry often but this one just came to me. Letting go of someone in your life because they are toxic is very difficult especially when you have so many amazing memories with them and they have been in your life for years. However, sometimes it’s necessary and it’s for the best. I will always cherish those memories but I also know that it’s time to let go. If anything I should have done this years ago.
To be honest, I think letting go of people is just one of the realities of being an adult no one really tells you about. It sucks but people grow apart sometimes as they age. And it just means it’s time to appreciate the good memories but let the person go.
Did you enjoy this poem? Is there someone in your life that you had to let go? How did that go and do you still think about them? Let me know in the comments below because I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic. Or simply stop by and say hi!
