Advice For New Bloggers

Advice For New Bloggers

A few weeks ago a new blogger reached out to me. She shared her story with me about the problems she faced as a new blogger. She suggested that since I write an advice posts for bloggers all the time that I should write one with advice for new bloggers so that they can avoid what she went through. I thought this was a really good idea because when I started out with blogging there was a lot of things that I wish someone had told me.

Unlike most of my advice posts, this one is not specifically aimed at growing your blog, gaining followers, or increasing your traffic. Instead, I thought I would write some general advice for new bloggers. Or people who are thinking about starting a blog. As someone who has been blogging for quite a few years now I have been lucky enough to pick up on quite a few things.

Blogging can be difficult especially if you are not super into technology or with the internet. It can also sometimes be a bit dangerous. Ao I have put in some tips that will help you to blog in a safer manner. Because let’s be honest there are some not so nice people out there hoping to scam unsuspecting people. Although this post if for newer bloggers I think most of the tips I have mentioned are things that all bloggers should keep in mind.

Here is my advice for new bloggers:

Be Careful

Advice For New Bloggers

The first thing I want to say is BE CAREFUL. Even though the WordPress community is really lovely in general you still need to be very careful especially when you start out because there will be people out there who will try to take advantage of you or perhaps don’t have your best interest at heart.

For example, one of the things I have seen recently is the rise of MLM’s and in case you are not familiar with what an MLM is- it’s multi-level marketing or rather something that is scarily close to a pyramid scheme. Recruiters often target vulnerable people such as people who are not familiar with the internet or that particular platform so as a newbie you will probably get at least a few messages and emails from these huns. I had no idea about this when I first started out but I am glad I did not fall for it because I was contacted by multiple MLM huns. For more on MLM’s and why they should be avoided click here.

Another example is that if someone ever tries to sell you something please make sure they are legitimate people and are selling you legitimate products or services because like I said there are a lot of scammers out there. Also be careful of people asking you for personal information, your credit card number, your debit card number, where you live, your address, your phone number or pretty much anything like that. I know this is something most people are aware of but there are some people who are quite trusting and if you are like that please lookout for these.

Do Your Research

Advice For New Bloggers

Before you start a blog do as much research as you possibly can. I know that there is this weird general belief that blogging or anything like that which people do online is easier than other more traditional work but that is honestly so far from the truth. With blogging there are so many little things that you need to know. Even just figuring out how WordPress works, how to make most of the features and how to even use the features takes a few weeks to a few months to figure out.

I admit it is very rewarding once you figure everything out but to be honest blogging is still difficult. You need to put so much work into it, you need to post regularly, stay active on both your blog and other blogs, reply to comments every day and so much more. Before you start a blog just know what you are getting into. You will most likely not have instant success, in fact, it may even take months before your blog starts to grow at a steady pace.

Another thing you need to research is your blog itself. What I mean by this is that do your research about your own blog. For example, if you have a particular name in mind Google that name and see what comes up to make sure that there are no sites already using that name or a similar name. Sometimes your blogs name may be very close to another sites name. And it may direct unwanted traffic to your blog. Such as if the other site is an adult site. You should also check for the name on all social media platforms as you may want to start a page for your blog with the same name but that may already exist on certain platforms.

Have A 5 Year Plan

Advice For New Bloggers

Before you start your blog think about where you want to be in five years. I wish someone had told me this before I started my blog. Because I really was not thinking ahead. And now I’m kind of stuck here kicking myself for not doing certain things when I first started out. For example, look into SEO as early as possible. Because it is almost impossible to make your site SEO friendly after you have been blogging for a long time. Trust me, it’s a lot of work and your future self will thank you for looking into SEO early on.

Look into what topics you want to write about and look at what the top pages that show up on search engines when you search that topic are doing. Of course do not copy their work but make sure to look at how they layout their articles, what topics they write on, what key words they are using and more. You can learn a lot from your “competition” and it can really help make your blog more successful and grow faster from the start.

Ask For Help

Man typing on keyboard on WordPress

Do not be afraid to ask for help. As I have mentioned throughout this article- blogging is difficult. It is definitely a whole process even setting up your blog to begin with and do not even get me started on writing your first blog post which can honestly be a nightmare for most people who are not exactly amazing at all things technology.

When you first start out with blogging, Google really becomes your best friend. Because you will definitely be Googling everything every ten seconds. Don’t worry it does get easier over time once you get used to how WordPress works. But at the beginning it is difficult.

Now the problem with Googling everything is that sometimes Google won’t have the specific stuff you are looking for. And even if it does have articles on exactly what you are looking for it may not show them. Thanks to the whole SEO thing. Which unfortunately means that the stuff that is SEO friendly is at the front of Google. And everything else, no matter how good and helpful it is, gets pushed to the back.

Therefore don’t be afraid to reach out to the WordPress helpers who are there to help you out in such situations and are usually extremely helpful. I would also recommend reading up on my blogging advice section as it does have a lot of tips and tricks that new bloggers may find helpful. And feel free to check out my services page as well by clicking here. I offer lots of helpful blogging services.

Be Patient

Girl writing in notebook with left hand, laptop in the background

The last piece of advice that I want to leave you with is be patient. Unless you are extremely lucky or just really good at blogging success does not happen overnight. I know that a lot of times when you start writing online you expect to have traffic and followers the minute your first blog post goes up. I know I kind of did. But it does not really work like that. It takes a lot of time and hard work to get to that point. So if you are not instantly successful don’t freak out. There is nothing wrong with you or your writing. It just takes a while to build a loyal following and get loyal readers. And once you do all the hard work will have been worth it.

If you are someone who is looking for instant success blogging on WordPress may not be for you. I’m not saying there is absolutely no way you will instantly get a huge following and traffic. I’m just saying it’s very unlikely you will blow up overnight. Even if you are doing everything by the book.

Take your time to learn how WordPress works. What works for you and your blog. How to use all the features to get to your optimum amount of traffic and following etc. Every blog is unique. And it will take a while to get the hang of what works for your blog and where you want your blog to head in the future.

  2. Thank you for this article! It was really helpful. 😀

    1. So glad to hear that!

    2. Thanks a lot. Your blog post was soothing.
      I’m a new blogger, and I have a question.
How many times should one post on the blog? Right now, I post every Sunday. I’ve been having doubts about posting just once a week, but on another hand, I don’t want to bug my readers by continuously posting write-ups. They’ll tire out.

      1. Thank you! I would recommend posting twice a day maximum or posting a few times a week minimum if you want your blog to grow and if you’re blogging as a hobby once a week is totally fine too.

  3. Stopping by to say hi🙋🏾. I really enjoyed reading this post, while I’ve never encountered any scammers on here before, reading this will make more conscious of them from now on. I haven’t really thought much about where I want my blog to me but I like to think and hope I’d be better in five years as I read more advice like this and apply them.

    1. Hi! I have encountered quite a few scammers on here and on social media so definitely be careful. If something sounds too good to be true definitely be cautious. I definitely think you will have improved a lot in five years- I know I did for sure- and you’ll get a really good routine going as well.

      1. I best be cautious then. I hope I will, thank you❤

        1. You’re welcome!!

  4. NOW WHY DIDN’T YOU WRITE THIS EARLIER.. I WOULDN’T HAVE HAD TO EMAIL YOU SO MANY TIMES.. LOL. GREAT POST!

    1. Technically I had written it I just hadn’t posted it yet lol!

      1. And there’s that…. ha ha!

  5. Thank you. I’ve been blogging a while but still feel like I have no idea what I’m doing. I can write but don’t know much about the technical side. I’ve asked for help. I’ve googled and YouTube’d but often come away frustrated. Thanks for this post!!

    1. Hope this post helped! Yes it definitely takes a while to get the hang of blogging- it took me like three years. If you ever need any help feel free to reach out!

  6. Thank you for this….I just started my blog three days ago and I have not been able to put down my phone….I still don’t understand some things but Google has been helping me.

    1. Thank you! I hope this helps out and you can check out my advice posts for more if you like.

      1. Sure I will

  7. Plenty of solid advice in your post, Pooja. I have been on WP for many years, thanks so much for pointing these things out. 😊👍🏻

    1. Thank you so much!!

  8. New blogger here! Thank you 🥰

    1. Hope this helps!

      1. Definitely! 🙂

  9. You are right. Not everyone who wants to connect to your page does so because they appreciate what you have to say. Unfortunately they may want to piggy back on your page to get a little exposure for their own marketing page. I always check out those who wish to comment. Most of the junk mail which thankfully is well supervised by WordPress should never be entered as the sites are dangerous.

    1. I am so thankful for the junk folder on WordPress, even if it occasionally adds innocent bloggers to the junk folder. I no longer allow emails to comment on my blog, which really cuts down on spam. Most spammers only use email to leave comments and aren’t even WP users!

    2. Yes, I have noticed that some people won’t even bother to comment about your post but will have no problem leaving links or even little ads to their blog. I am definitely very grateful for the junk folder.

  10. I’m a new blogger. Thanks for this.

    1. Hope it helps!

  11. Again, thank you for sharing! I was so impatient for traffic and now I’m good 😛 I’m still afraid to ask for help, though.

    1. Hope this helps! Haha I think everyone is impatient at first but you learn over time.

  12. Good tips with warning people about mlms . Makeup blogs in general are targeted, same with Instagram makeup posters .

    1. Yeah I’ve noticed that too. I used to add a lot of makeup posts on Instagram and that’s when MLM people started trying to recruit me. I luckily did not fall victim but I know a lot of people do and it’s very sad because the large majority of people in MLM’s never make money and actually lose quite a bit of money.

      1. Yeah they prey on vulnerable people . Its pretty sad .

        1. Yeah it’s really sad and kind of disgusting that they would do that.

  13. There is one MLM lady who I am still following only because I knew of her from FB. She had virtually zero engagement through blogging so I doubt she will cause havoc. She’s not the type to shit disturb. I do agree that MLM and marketing gurus are annoying though! One should never join blogging as a get rick quick thing, especially as a new blogger who is new to these waters.

    1. They are definitely annoying but more than anything I wanted to warn people because literally 99% of people in MLM’s don’t make money and most people actually end up losing money which is so sad. Yeah blogging is not for people trying to get rich quick. It’s going to be a while before you see any real money.

      1. I used to be involved in a MLM called Max International. It’s not a well known company. The people in the company were nice but the products were extremely overpriced. Nobody disclosed that info to me. Also, nobody showed me how to claim commissions so I went 6 months without getting any commissions. It was even more of a headache leaving because they guilt trip you and make you feel bad. And that girl who signed me up didn’t mentor me at all – her mom did. And her mom was very bossy. That girl doesn’t talk to me even though we went to high together.
This lady on WordPress… I would never sign up under her. Been there, done that. Never again will I sign up for any MLM company. They like to prey on broke, eager, university students who are desperate to start working in the corporate world. And to think I almost threw away my degree to work my “biz.”

        1. I have not heard of Max International before but your experience is pretty similar to most people who are part of an MLM at any point. All MLM’s are very shady about what information they give you- they conveniently leave out a lot of the bad stuff. And they also have a very cult like mentality where if you leave the MLM you get cut out, usually blocked by everyone- I guess this girl didn’t but most do and they make you feel really bad about leaving.
There are certain people they are specifically told to target like students who are desperate, POC who may be new immigrants/looking for work, women in particular are very often targeted as well.

          1. That girl doesn’t talk to me. My mom actually feels sorry for her because of the way she was brought up. She turned out fine though and is pretty well off now. I’m sure she will be okay. Her mom even told me at one point to sell products on campus! That’s when I put my foot down.
Yup, MLMs are shady. This company is based in the US and they didn’t bother to tell me that the products are in US dollars – not Canadian dollars. It was already so expensive to begin with. Imagine paying $95 CAD for one bottle of supplements that only meant to last you 30 days. You had to buy 2 products each month in order to stay “qualified” called personal volume (PV). Otherwise you wouldn’t qualify for their “bonuses” which most people don’t get anyways. It’s such a scam.
Luckily I was able to pay off my debts to my parents who helped fund me. It was definitely one of the stupider purchases I’ve made. That, and a 5K phone bill for texting someone in the states back when I thought long distance relationships was a good idea. Spoiler alert: it’s a bad idea. Rogers told me international texting was included. It wasn’t – Rogers is a shady company too.

            1. Yeah someone from Arbonne told me I could make money selling on campus if I joined and I was just like yeah I’m not doing that.
Wow that is a lot of money to pay especially for a student who just graduated. Most MLM’s have crazy expensive products which usually are not even worth the money.
I’m glad you were able to pay your parents back. Rogers is SO shady. I have had a messed up experience with them too.

              1. My parents are still with Rogers 🤦‍♀️ I switched over to virgin mobile and haven’t had issues with that company.
Yep… MLMs are crazy expensive. The start up cost was 2K for the premium package, which didn’t serve me at all since I didn’t qualify for the bonuses anyways. Very rarely do people qualify for the bonuses. I was convinced it was better because it was the largest package only to end up with a ton of product that ended up expiring. They have expiry dates so if you don’t sell it within a certain time frame, tough luck. Avoid MLMs at all costs. You were smart to say no!

                1. WOW 2K is a crazy amount! It’s 200 USD for Arbonne but I’m sure with buying the crazy expensive products it would end up being like 1-2K as well. Yes, you end up buying most of it yourself and honestly people don’t want to buy overpriced stuff even if it is from friends/family. I was so lucky not to fall for it- also it was more of I was broke than smart lol!

                  1. I felt icky trying to charge retail price when retail price was SO expensive! Someone even said, “Why would I buy this from you when I can buy it off of Amazon for much cheaper?” I felt insulted but she wasn’t wrong. Don’t get me wrong – there are MLM products that are actually good like some Doterra essential oils. However, each bottle is like $100 and is WAY too expensive. I do like their peppermint essential oil though. It’s the best peppermint essential oil I ever used, hands down.

                    1. I’ve never tried their essential oils and yeah I definitely agree some of their stuff is good but like you said the price is just not worth it.

  14. Great insightful post. Thank you!

    1. Thank you so much!

  15. Thank you for this. I find your advice posts helpful as a new blogger myself

    1. Thank you- so glad you are finding them helpful!

      1. You’re welcome!

  16. I haven’t had anyone try to scam me. I love having the spam folder but also check it a few times a week because sometimes comments from people I actually interact with end up there.

    1. Lucky you- I have had so many people try to scam me it’s kind of crazy. Yes, I check the spam folder once a week because a lot of real comments get stuck in there too!

  17. I’ve been blogging since 2018 as an outlet for processing depression and creativity. Two different things that are often so intricately intertwined.
One thing I wish I had known before I started blogging was how to make posts more easily findable for people who would benefit from them. More knowledge of SEO, how to use tags and keywords effectively, and what types of categories are useful to sort posts by.
Thank you for another very thoughtful post. 🙂

    1. I started blogging for the same reason and I wish the same thing. I did not even know what SEO was and honestly did not pay much attention to it till this year. I wish I had done more research back then.
      Thanks for the comment!

      1. Yeah, I’m just now about to start doing more research on SEO myself now since you have brought it to my attention Pooja.

        1. Yeah SEO is definitely quite important. If you ever need any help with it feel free to reach out!

          1. Thanks,,,, Plan to look at some youtube tutorials first but I definitely will reach out if needed…

  18. Great post, so helpful for new bloggers. One need to be careful especially with the high rate if scammers out there. Patience is key, doing research is also important. Good to seek for help too

    1. Thank you so much! I agree- there are a lot of scammers out there so you need to be careful. Patience and research are definitely very important.

        1. Thank you for your Insight in tips.

  19. I’m new ..like a month and some days old
This is really helpful and thanks soo much💯👏🏼

    1. I’m so glad you found this helpful!

  20. I really agree with that post! If I had had a 5 Year Plan when I first started blogging, everything about blogging would have been so much easier, and especially consistency.
If I may give another piece of advice to new bloggers: be PASSIONATE about both blogging/ writing & your niche. If you are not really passionate, you may lose motivation, and thus lose consistency, and once consistency is lost, growth is nearly impossible.
Take care of yourself and of your passion first,
    Camille

    1. Thank you so much for sharing that piece of advice I truly appreciate it and I absolutely agree- being passionate about your blog/writing is so important! And to be honest readers can really tell if you care about the post or if you are just forcing yourself to write.

      1. I 100% agree, I definitely feel that when I am reading a piece of work. In the way sentences are turned, or in the overall mood of the text, you can definitely see whether or not the post has been created with passion.
        Have a nice day. ♡

        1. Thanks and have a nice day too!

  21. This was really helpful and informative 😊 thank you for sharing your experiences.
I’ll keep all these points in mind 🌻
    Keep writing these posts😇

    1. So glad you found the post helpful!

  22. Great advice Pooj – just takes so much time!

    1. Thank you and yes it absolutely does!

  23. Hi there!
This is great advice and again thanks to WordPress junk, which doesn’t let spammers contact directly.
But, I sometimes stalk such MLM sites to know about them and be wary of those!
It’s true. Quite easy for folks to fall into the trap. And SEO definitely is a pain! Even from the beginning!
Oh and I also had a similar idea for new bloggers and was wondering if I could work on a guest post too!

    1. Thank you! Yes, you absolutely can just email me so I can send the guidelines- I may take a couple of days to respond.

  24. Thank you for these wonderful tips. Really needed them

    1. So glad to hear that!!

  25. Excellent advice, Pooja. I haven’t come across any MLM. this was the first time I’m hearing about them. Thanks for letting me know

    1. Thank you and I’m glad this gave you a heads up- they are extremely sneaky so definitely be careful!

      1. Oh I will! My pleasure 🙂

  26. Thank you so much for this. I really needed some tips since I am a beginner as well.

    1. So glad to hear that!

  27. Great post

    1. Thank you!

  28. Your article is really helpful! Thanks for this ! ☺️ As a blogger, we have to don’t take for us the bad comments of people sometimes because they don’t know us and it doesn’t matter what they think !!

    1. Thank you! Yes, I agree they have no idea who we really are. What they see us blog about is only a part of us.

  29. Progress takes time and it’s okay to run around a bit and to be confused for a bit. It’s all part of the process

    1. Yes exactly!

  30. Very informative article and it is helpful for new and old bloggers !! ❤

    1. Thank you so much!

  31. Thank you for your advice..:D

    1. Hope it helps!

  32. Lol after 4 or 5 years blogging on various platforms, I still very much feel like a “new blogger” so this advice is always useful. You’re right that it’s not easy. Writing for a publication is a lot of work but at the end of the day you’re just researching your topic, writing the article, and making proposed edits. As a blogger I’m my own editor, web designer, marketing team, etc! I seriously neglected a lot of those duties and playing catch up is a lot of work. Can’t recommend enough to take those things seriously from day one.

    1. Yes, exactly you are doing everything on your own while with traditional jobs you are part of a team and just doing your own job. It’s definitely a lot more work to blog.

  33. I think the patience bit is good advice for any new blogger. It takes time to build an audience, and that’s okay

    1. Yes, I definitely think it takes a while before your blog grows.

  34. Another thing I would add to this is to realise why you are starting blogging in the first place. If you are doing it for another source of income or to network with other bloggers then it is important to post frequently and be ready to take the time to connect with other bloggers. However, some people blog as a way of letting out their feelings and to put things in writing, and so they are doing it more for self-care and therefore they don’t care as much about how many people view it. In that case it is not so important to blog regularly .

    1. Yes, that’s a really good point thank you for bringing that up! I absolutely agree that it depends on your end goal with blogging and why you created your blog.

  35. Good advice even for us older bloggers because we let our guard down. It is always changing so we need to grow with this more internet based society.

    1. Yes I agree sometimes people let their guard down but when it comes to the internet we need to always be careful.

  36. Amazing point.. Especially about being aware and keeping the patience level quite high💯.. And upon others i m still working on😊
Thanks pooja, so nice of you for sharing this with us ❤️❤️💐❤️❤️

    1. Thank you so much!!

  37. Thank you so much for this!

    1. My pleasure- hope they help!

  38. This is suchhhhh a helpful post. I will admit that I’ve totally been scammed on social media. I’ve also once fell for an MLM. I don’t beat myself up anymore because you live and your learn right? Im so glad you’re able to help new bloggers because this stuff is important!

    1. It’s really easy to get scammed on social media- there are some really awful people there. And it’s also really easy to fall for MLM’s because the recruiters are absolutely ruthless and they’re so good at pretending to care. Yeah it’s a learning experience and now you know better. Thanks- I wanted to share this because there is a lot to lookout for!

      1. They are so ruthless! So many of them dont even really believe in what they’re selling.

        1. Yes!! And some of the stuff they sell is dangerous too. Like I forget which one but there is one MLM that encourages the buyers to use essential oils that are non-edible in their food.

          1. Yikes…. idk how they can get away with that. That’s horrible!

            1. I know they’e literally poisoning people!

  39. Great read again, thank you for all of your helpful posts. I wasn’t aware of the scammers as I haven’t come across any yet, but I’ll be sure to look out for them now!

    1. Thank you! Yes, please be very careful- I have come across a lot of scammers on both WP and social media.

  40. Thank you so much for this helpful article. I am a new blogger and as I searched something on WordPress, I found your blog page and it really really helped me out. Good to visit your blog page.

    1. Thank you so much and I’m glad you found it helpful!

  41. Omg I really wish I knew some of this when I started in December! Haha it’s never too late though, great post Pooja, as usual!

    1. No it’s never too late! Thank you!

  42. I was thinking of e-mailing you regarding such an issue recently. And I was getting messages with links and stuff. Thank you for sharing, Pooja.🙂

    1. Definitely delete such messages- they are usually spam and they can lead to hackers accessing your account. Glad the post helped!

      1. Sure thing 🙂👍

  43. I think my advice is to network as much as you can and make connections with other bloggers. I didn’t do this for a long time and was really disconnected with the blogging community, and i think it had a negative impact on my blog.
I think its so great that you have shared this. I hope any new bloggers struggling or needing advice can come here to find the answers they’re looking for.
Thats what i love so much about the blogging community, were a unit of people there to help and inspire eachother 🤗

  44. Thanks PoojaG for this advice is goin to be very helpful for me.

    1. So glad you found it helpful!

  45. wow.. there have been 2 bloggers / regular mutuals on ig of mine who tried to make me join arbone (is that an mlm) and the other is monat. the girl selling monat isnt problematic, but she is a good seller! i almost wanted to join because she makes it sound so good, i just started with buying products from her.
i then looked up the products and it seems TOO sketchy to even keep buying from them. idk she says she works when she wants and she’s happy but who knows..
the arbonne seller tho.. omg. she would NOT LEAVE ME ALONE. i swear it was borderline harrassment. once i just stopped responding to her she unfollowed me even tho we were so nice to each other at the start, i genuinely thought she liked me as a person but then it was more like i was just a customer for her.
anyways, yeah, being in a mlm is not a real business and it’s sad people think they will reach anything joining those.
anyways it’s great that u mention that because im really too nice and people know it like that arbonne seller.

    1. Yeah they do make it seem like they have a great life but from what I have found out I realised that they put a crazy amount of work into it to get to that level. You could just get a 9 to 5 job instead that would be a lot less work.
Arbonne huns are absolutely ruthless. I had one who kept trying to get me to video call her and when I told her no because I was not interested she got really pissed off and unfollowed me too lol. They start out acting like they want to be friends but they really just want to recruit you because that’s how they make their money.
I really wanted to mention MLM’s because I get messages from them like every other week. It’s crazy. Yeah they target people like you who are really nice and will talk to them.

  46. I appreciate how generous you always are with your time and advice for other bloggers.
    This was a great post…

    1. I’m happy to help them because I remember how hard it was when I started out. Thanks!

  47. As always, totally agree with you! There are so many scammers out there who approach bloggers and micro-influencers so being cautious is key.
Also researching truly is important both in terms of the name you choose and how you set up your blog! I went though soooo many headaches this summer completely re-doing my SEO after changing my plugin!
I’d also add that new bloggers should hold off on purchasing a domain / expensive plan until they determine whether blogging really is for them. It’s great that blogging can be 💯 free if you you chose, but there can def be pressure to invest in services or platforms before you know you’ll use them!

    1. I have spent the last few months trying to make my site more SEO friendly as well so I definitely understand the struggle. I wish I had done my research earlier as it would have saved me a lot of time and trouble.
I totally agree you should not invest until you are certain that blogging is something you will stick with. Even though the free plan does have its limitations I still feel like you can do most things on it including earn money.

      1. 💯 agree with you!!!

  48. Very helpful! Thank you!

    1. So glad you found it helpful!

  49. It just motivated me.Thank You

    1. So glad to hear that!

  50. Thanks Pooja for your post. As always simple and easy explanations. A new blogger with same question as i stumbled upon these sentences from your blog:
‘look into SEO as early as possible because it is almost impossible to make your site SEO friendly after you have been blogging for a long time. Trust me, it’s a lot of work and your future self will thank you for looking into SEO early on’.
Not really understanding how to look into SEO, which i thought a normal blogger is unable to find since this is more about analytics and related stuff that require expertize.
Please kindly correct me if there is any simple step towards learning SEO and making SEO friendly sites. Thank you again for your time

    1. Thanks for your comment. I actually have two posts on how bloggers with no other experience in analytics/tech stuff can make their blog posts more SEO friendly which I will link below. Furthermore, SEO is definitely not just for people who are experts at certain things but rather for everyone interested in increasing their search engine traffic. Hope the two posts help you understand SEO better.

    1. I’m glad this advice helped and yes definitely stick with it because it does get better!

  65. Even though I’ve been blogging a little bit over two years, these advice are such great reminders. Especially to your point about the 5 years plan, I was in the same situation not really thinking about growing my blog at all. Thank you so much for putting this into perspective!

    1. Thank you so much! I think a lot of people don’t think ahead when it comes to blogging but it really does help to take it into account.

  66. I really love and learnt from that s blog. Thank you dear.
I have a request though…would you mind going my blog and dropping a review? I want to know from an expert’s view if I’m doing well or if I need to improve in certain areas.💖

    1. Thank you and your blog looks great!

  67. I’m so glad you found me because I really love your blog! I am an “old” blogger, attempting to make a comeback after many years of absence. (lol)
This post should help me a *lot*! Once I take the time to read it thoroughly and do the required research to help me “comprehend” it! 😉
Between that and attempting to find my way around the “WordPress” interface, (i.e. “Help” files), I should have more than enough to keep me busy, for sometime to come! ha, ha, ha…
Thank you for the Help! 🙂

    1. Thank you so much! Best of luck with getting back into blogging!

  68. Interesting article…I realise everyone blogs for different reasons. I started mine really just for fun..not really expecting anyone to read it, enjoy it or react to it. For me it is just a small creative outlook with 150 or so followers with 30 or so regular readers..but even just one bit of positive feedback make a it worthwhile for me. I hope you get the same enjoyment from writing yours that I get from mine. As mine is just a weekly 2 minute read..people have usually read it before they even realise it’s perhaps not for them😁😁

    1. Thank you! Yes, everyone blogs for different reasons for sure and their experiences tend to differ. Haha that’s a perk of shorter posts!

  71. Thank you so much! This was so helpful to me, I had no idea about all of the scammers and Im really glad I read this.

    1. I’m so glad you found this helpful and yes definitely be careful!

  72. Very helpful. Even if some material might not be ‘new’, almost all of us are so busy we need multiple reminders of details not covered. Your post sends those valuable reminders.

    1. Thank you!

  73. Thanks poojaG, still learning and will do more research great tips

    1. Thanks and hope this helps!

  74. Thankyou for taking the time to write this very informative article!
I like the idea that you presented about Scammers and MLMs, as being a Senior Citizen, this is where most people in my age group are led to believe that whatever is being asked of themselves, they just arbitrarily provide sensitive information without first thinking it out ahead of time and, in the end, they are the ones that will pay dearly for whatever personal information that they provided to whomever.
Once again, best of luck to you always.

    1. Thank you! It’s often senior citizens or younger people who aren’t aware of these scams that are targeted. When it comes to the internet we need to be very careful. Best of luck to you too.

  75. Thanks a lot for writing such a wonderful article. Well written and the guideline is awesome and essential to follow. I’m looking forward to more informative posts further and I like to wish you all the best.

    1. Thank you so much!

  76. Great!! I learned a lot of new things like the scams and the SEO part. Like you said I am searching for a lot of things online and most of the time I don’t get the information I am searching for. This helps a lot. Thanks for sharing.

  87. I appreciate this post so much. I am happy to hear that learning WordPress takes time. It’s already been a bit of a challenge.

    1. Thanks and yes don’t worry that is normal. It takes a while to get a hang of things and WordPress is much harder to use now than when I started out so I can imagine the struggle.
