I know I’ve been posting a lot of six word stories since I’ve been super busy with university but my stats are really good so far so I’m hoping you’re enjoying them. I wanted to make a couple of other posts in between though just so you guys have something different to read. Today I decided to do a little update post to just let you know what’s been going on with my life as well as my thoughts on certain things. I also know I haven’t been posting a lot of “blogging advice” posts lately which were probably my most popular posts but those take a little while to put together. I will be posting more of those soon though since I’ll have some time during my midterms.
I know I haven’t been as active on other peoples blogs but I will try my best to visit as soon as possible! Also I have three paper proposals due and I am blanking on what to write about for one of them. Nothing seems to stand out to me and I am not finding anything particularly interesting that I would want to write a research paper on it. It’s really weird because this rarely happens to me. I hope I find something soon though.
Are any of you guys on Tiktok?? I personally am not because I heard it has a serious troll problem and I just do not want to deal with that. I’m good with blogging and Instagram for now. I really enjoy Pinterest too but I find it hard to be active on everything these days so I decided to focus on Instagram and WordPress for now. Anyway, the reason I brought up TikTok is because I keep seeing it EVERYWHERE and some of the videos are so fake and cringe-y lol! I cringe really easy so I try to avoid those but sometimes I get embarrassed for them when I see them.
Also, TikTok was on my mind recently because of the whole Charlie D’Amelio thing with the hashtag. If you don’t know what I’m talking about but want to find out more about it click here. I know everyone is roasting her and calling her self-absorbed but this is how I think about it. Imagine being 16 years old and being that famous and having those many followers. It would be overwhelming for anyone. I also know that it was a really stupid mistake that she made and she could have easily clicked on the hashtag and seen who it was really meant for but at the same time I remember when I was a stupid sixteen year old. I was super dumb and probably kind of self-absorbed too (that’s usually what it’s like when you’re a teenager). I can definitely see myself doing something stupid like that at 16 years old and to have the whole world laughing probably doesn’t feel so great. I mean I did so many dumb things as a teenager that I wouldn’t want everyone on the internet knowing about. I still get embarrassed just thinking about the dumb stuff I’ve done (remember when I left my mic on a few days ago??) and I just think it would be a million times worse if it was on the internet with millions of people judging me. I’m not saying the D’Amelio’s are super awesome or anything- I personally can’t stand them to be quite honest. I think the whole family seems kind of messed up but as a history major I’ve been finding it increasingly easier to keep my personal opinions separate and think about things in a more rational way. When I first heard about the whole hashtag mistake I just felt kind of bad for her just because I can relate- you are so dumb when you’re a teenager and stuff like this happens all the time but now with the internet and social media and stuff it’s so much worse and I can’t even imagine how embarrassed she must have felt.
Talking about social media- if you follow me on Instagram you probably already know but I recently just reached 5K followers on Instagram and I just really want to thank everyone who followed me through this blog! I really appreciate the support and if you haven’t followed me yet I would really appreciate it if you did by clicking here. I promise I’ll follow you back and not unfollow you like an hour later lol! My Instagram is kind of separate from my blog and the stuff I post on it is pretty different. I think for now I will mostly be posting stuff about makeup, lifestyle, fashion and food. I usually post updates with what’s going on in my life, what makeup looks I’m into at the moment, what outfits and jewelry I’m wearing and what I’m eating. I do post about my blog occasionally but don’t worry it won’t just be a repeat of what you’re already seeing on my blog. I know earlier I said I wasn’t super into social media and Instagram in particular but now that I’m just posting for fun without caring too much about growing or advertising my blog I’m actually having a lot of fun especially with creating new makeup looks. Ironically, my Instagram is now growing much faster for some reason lol?!?
I’ve been hearing so much about OnlyFans you guys! Apparently DJ Khaled and Fat Joe are on it too?? What is 2021 even? I feel like it’s going to be as weird as 2020 but hopefully less awful.
Anyway, that was my little update. I’m going to get back to my essay proposals and a primary source analysis I have due for my Spanish class tomorrow. I hope your January went amazing and I hope your February is even better!
