I didn’t have much time today to write a post so I decided to catch up with you guys! What have you been up to? Have you seen any good shows or movies lately? Try anything new? Let me know in the comments below because I would love to find out what’s going on with you!

I’ve been watching The Office again and apparently so has everyone else right now 😂 It’s comforting since it’s so wholesome and I’ve already seen it so I know what episodes I like. I watched Scrubs for a while and it was pretty good. It probably isn’t my favourite show ever but it’s pretty funny.

I’ve also made a lot of new recipes which has been fun and I’m excited to share more recipes with you guys! I’ve also been trying to finish my essay proposals which has been a little difficult but at least I found topics.

Oh and I wanted to let everyone know that I am avoiding Instagram for a few days because of all the school work I need to deal with and Instagram/social media can be kind of distracting. But I will be back on Instagram in a few days and I will reply to everyone and respond to the comments and stuff. I have a lot of exciting stuff I want to share and a lot of makeup looks/reviews I enjoyed trying out. If you’re interested in makeup, fashion and food/recipe posts on Instagram feel free to follow me by clicking here.

  1. I’ve been really busy lately trying to get the paperwork figured out for two jobs. I started one of the jobs today but am behind in the other because I couldn’t get buddy shifts, and need to figure out what’s going on with that schedule. At least HR issues have finally been sorted out!

When I’m not doing that, I’m doing orientation readings/modules and studying for the NCLEX, whenever my 4-year old lets me (she doesn’t).

Good luck with your essays! I think you’re making a good decision staying away from IG for the time being.

    1. Wow good luck with the jobs and hopefully it gets easier from here onwards! And good luck with your studying. Hopefully your four year old gives you a bit of a break haha!

Thank you! I decided when I started using social media again that I wouldn’t get too carried away with it and if I needed a break I would take one. I think it’s easy to get lost in the social media world because it’s a good way to escape real life but at some point you have to realize that you need to get back to reality. I think taking frequent breaks helps.

  2. I’m back and forth with Suits and Scandal. I did just watch Sierra Burgess is a Loser on Netflix. It was good. Kinda quirky.

    1. Ooh I love Suits! I haven’t seen Scandal yet but I hear it’s good. Sierra Burgess sounds good- I remember seeing the trailer at some point.

  3. I’ve been watching One Step Beyond which is like the Twilight Zone before the Twilight Zone. I recommend both series. The production value of both is not as good as current TV shows, plus they were both made in the 1960s, but the stories are top notch!

  4. I’ve been quite busy because of my school work and have even taken a small break from blogging. Its exam season in India so students are really busy and working hard. These days I’m into k-dramas (as I’m learning Korean) and they’re really fun to watch.
All the best with your work!

  5. Looks like everyone is busy. School on my end is hectic, it’s that time of the semester where it’s just tests and assignments. Then there’s the pandemic which is hitting closer to home. A few people known to me tested positive and 2 passed on. And I’m just really home sick, it’s been over a year since I’ve gone to Mozambique. On the other hand, I’ve something that’s a huge achievement for, I got the local newspaper to public my article. Writing that email to the editor was nerve wracking but worth it. I plan on freelancing for the newspaper every now and then…. That’s it on my end, it’s just bitter sweetness.

    1. Yup everything is due right now. I miss home too- it’s been almost two years since I was in Kenya.

Wow that’s a great achievement congratulations!

  6. I feel so rusty coming back to this family… 😭😭😭 Pooja, I have Missed your write-ups…. Well, I am happy to announce that I have started to acquire a new skill. I began learning fashion designing and I am so excited about that…..

  7. Hi, it’s been a while. I Understand you’re taking a moment for school. That’s great! Hope you’re doing well and studying hard. One show I’ve been watching is Superstore. It’s pretty funny and I’m not sure why yet but it does remind me of the Office. You should check it out.

  8. My son puts on the Office at least once a week.. always sure to entertain and distract.
look forward to your recipes and good call on a breat on Instagram. No clue how you keep up girl.. you amaze me Pooja! 💖

  9. Pretty much lately tweaking blog’s tech, trying out things like GamiPress plugin. Doing some translations of plugins in WP (to Finnish, which makes me sometimes question whether it makes sense or not, but I somehow like translations – using POEdit software which makes it way faster). Not watched new or old Office seasons, but very close: Office Space (movie). 🙂 Both are marvellous, tho!

  10. At least it’s not just me! 😂 I missed my Thursday post deadline because I got super busy trying to get some housework done. As much as I love blogging, I’m thinking I’m going to have to move to Tuesdays, Fridays and weekends, otherwise I can be a bit stop and start with the housework. Especially with Covid going on, I try and make sure the home is up together. Plus, it looks good for any photos!

We haven’t had a lot of luck with Instagram, but we are trying to do better on Facebook and Twitter. Neither Matt nor I use social media much but we’re trying to get into better habits for our readers. Currently, I do a lot of it but I shall be having firm words with my betrothed, because it’s supposed to be his job!

If you can get it, check out The Great on Netflix, with Elle Fanning. It’s about the rise of Catherine the Great and it’s quite funny (and graphic in places, so be warned). It’s been something we’ve loved to watch together late on a Sunday evening, especially right now in lockdown. Check it out sometime maybe, if you can 🙂

    1. Lol you’re definitely not alone- sometimes we just have to take a break from things and prioritise certain things!

Social media and especially Instagram is quite different than blogging so it’s definitely a struggle. It took me a while to figure things out too.

I love The Great! I actually watched it as soon as it came out. As a history major I really enjoyed it although obviously it’s far from historically accurate.

      1. Absolutely! I try and strike the balance but sadly life doesn’t fit into nice little boxes.

Instagram is definitely a struggle for me. It’s not integrated with WordPress like Facebook or Twitter are, so I’m periodically forgetting to post. It’s not supposed to be my job anyway, but it’s still better that someone does 😉

Oh heavens, yes! It’s clever enough in that if you aren’t familiar with history then you can’t really tell what’s what, but if you have even some understanding then there are certainly parts that make you gasp at the sheer audacity of the storyline. My knowlesge of history is undoubtedly nowhere near as good as yours, but even I’ve spotted a few things that have left me in utter disbelief. It doesn’t make it any less fun to watch, though!

  11. Hi,
I’ve been busy. Just launched my cosmetics business @cdellecosmetics on IG. I’m currently watching Outlander on Netflix. It’s good I like medieval films. I’m behind on a few posts just need to schedule properly. Best of luck with school I know how that can be. If anyone is interested in checking out my blog leaving a review or comment I’d appreciate it.

  12. Finding topics is one of the hardest parts. Once you do, things start to open up 😂
All the best! Always remember that this girl is heavily relating to you right now.

  14. Everything’s good I guess. Still dealing with this pandemic and it kinda sucks. Tho I am happy that Im back to my favorite pasttime, reading. I bought 27 books online (a friend was sort of “cleaning” her bookshelf) so im pretty excited to read all of ‘em.

  15. I am working to come up with a strategy that keeps me on toes with my goals, and also reevaluating my goals and purpose, since I fall out a lot. I am off social media and I am avoiding fiction work this week. All the best with your school work.

  16. The office is hands down the best show! Perfect when you just want something on you don’t have to pay much attention to. I just finished Night Stalker on Netflix. It was recommended by my boyfriends students. Highly recommend if you’re like us and like to watch the ID channel or murder documentaries 😂

    1. I just started Night Stalker!!

The Office is amazing- I usually have it on in the background when I’m blogging or doing school work. It just relaxes more for some reason lol!

  17. Totally understand the school work. Same here 😊. And now that Friday is here, the writer yawns, breaks the shell and talks to the world, unhindered….
