Happy Valentines Day everyone! I hope you have an amazing day and I hope you remember to treat yourself! What am I doing for Valentines Day you ask? Well I will be eating an insane amount of fettucine while re-watching Knocked Up so it’s gonna be a pretty crazy night haha! I know I’m just 23- almost 24 yikes- but I sometimes feel like I’m probably never going to be in a serious relationship because I can be super picky and I’m also awful at relationships. But I’m like okay with it because I actually really like being on my own and doing my own thing. Not sure why I felt the need to share that but I guess what I’m trying to say is- will you be my Valentine? We can be alone together lol!

    At 23…almost 24, you still have a long way to go. Always important that you be happy with yourself. If you are comfortable with yourself, then you will be able to be comfortable with another, if that is what you want. If you prefer single life, then that is OK too. That is the benefit to being 23 almost 24….you aren’t forced to be with someone and can make that choice. Happy Valentine’s Day!

      Thanks! I stopped dating for a while actually because I wanted to figure myself out and be happy on my own first. I realised that I wasn’t happy and that being with someone wouldn’t magically make me happier. Thank you!

    Its okay to be picky but everyone, literally everyone you date will disappoint you at some point. Set your expectations low/have no expectations so you won’t end up being disappointed 🙂

    Jumping from guy to guy isn’t the answer either and there is absolutely nothing wrong with being single. It’s better to wait for the right person than to waste time chasing the wrong one, which is like wearing blinders. Dating the wrong person leads to missed opportunities because we were so invested in that person that we didn’t have time to invest energy into anyone else, including Mr. Right. As they say in pharmacology, “start low (low expectations), and go slow (take your time when it comes to dating).” I think the same quote applies to dating. Happy Valentine’s Day! 💕

      I agree! There’s no perfect person out there and I think relationships where both of you sacrifice sometimes work out better. I think now that I’ve dated a bit more I know what I’m looking for in a partner which helps a lot rather than just dating random people. Thank you!

      Yeah I definitely don’t expect Mr. Perfect or anything lol! I think I think I just know what I’m looking for in a partner and I don’t want to waste time with people I don’t see a future with.

    I agree that being picky and not chasing a dead end for years is better. But seriously you don’t NEED a partner to be fulfilled. Don’t settle and don’t worry about getting a partner. I’m in my 30s and I’m happier now being single than I was in my 20s wasting my time on losers.

    It wise to be picky because your future children depend on having a partner who can stay the course…I choose not to date as I continue to work on myself…This is funny I met a nice man who wanted to “hang out with me” I thought he was crazy…I am not American so the idea of hanging out made no sense to me…We are business friends now but I told him that I am crazier than him being from Ireland and it would be best to keep our friendship strictly business…He got a laugh out of that and like myself he does not date…This valentines I purchased my own in expensive wedding ring set just cause at my age which is almost fifty I will never marry and that is ok…For Pooja to be picky and other young ladies to be picky is wise and I have no doubt that Pooja and other wise young ladies will find a worthy partner who will stay the course in due time…Sorry this is long I am rather verbose…

      Yeah I think it’s good to be picky to an extent because you want to spend your life with that person and you’ll end up suffering if you settle for just anyone. I’m glad you got yourself that valentines present and thanks for the comment!

    I hate that as women, society dictates that if we’re single it is because we’re picky. Having standards is def a good thing – and when the right person comes along you won’t have to settle. Hope you had a relaxed V-Day!

      Yeah it’s so true- we are always expected to settle down by a certain age but men rarely have to deal with that pressure. Thank you- I ate an entire pizza for lunch and pasta for dinner so it was incredible!!
