Blogger Interview With Nick

Blogger Interview

I am so excited to share this interview with you guys- Nick is a brilliant photographer and blogger and I’m sure you will love his blog so don’t forget to go over and check it out when you’re done with the interview. As usual it will be linked below.

1. Thank you so much for being part of this interview. Please tell us a little about yourself and your blog.

My name is Nick. I live in the South of England, near Brighton. I have a daughter who is 4 and has been featured a couple of times in my blog. My blog is photography based and focuses on black and white. My blog is still very young, I think it is 7 months old. I have on occasion swayed from photography and I have done a couple of short stories and parental hints and tips. I have a masters degree in childhood and youth studies, and so i have extensive knowledge in that area but I always end up returning to black and white photography.

2. What inspired you to start a blog?

I started my blog during lockdown. I already had a black and white photography instagram account but i felt it was not personal enough. I felt I did not have a connection with my followers and wanted a platform where I could talk to fellow photographers and see what others were doing. In no time of starting my blog, I was having great conversations and learning so much about photography. The hardest part for me was learning how to blog and reach my readers. Your blog was an inspiration for me and taught me so much about blogging. I still have so much to learn but i am having fun.

3. What inspired you to get into photography?

My interest in photography started very late. I was given a professional camera about ten years ago but I would never really use it. It was from many comments from people saying I had an eye for photography and people really liked the pictures I was taking, that I started to work on my photography. I have always seen photography as an art and I love the work professional photographers can do.

4. Your images are beautiful and what makes them unique is that they are in black and white. Why did you choose black and white?

I was one day scrolling through my personal instagram thread, and i came across this black and white photo that had me looking at it for a crazy length of time. This photograph was perfect and made me so happy. It made me want to do the same so within the next ten minutes i had created a black and white instagram account and i started to take photographs in black and white using my phone. Black and white is beautiful and timeless and it removes the distraction of colour. You look for different things in black and white, shapes, shades, patterns.

5. What are some of your long term goals with blogging and photography?

I am amazed I have been blogging for this long. But i want to keep it going. I want to continue to improve my photography and offer blogging and photography help to others. You inspired me so i hope i can inspire at least one person to get started and give them the help required to keep blogging. I would like to write some more short stories. They focus on my time in munich but the stories are very fictional. This year, I have had very limited time for writing content on my blog, I have focused more on just photography, so I hope soon to be able to write longer posts.

6. What inspires you to continue blogging?

The readers inspire me to keep posting. I get so many amazing comments that make me want to go outside and to take more photos. The blogging community is so powerful and so helpful and that is the reason my blog still has a strong heart beat. I have met some amazing people and I have great chats with them. I look forward to many many more fellow bloggers.

7. What is your favourite food?

I love pasta. Bolognese, carbonara, lasagne. The list goes on. I have been to Italy once and the pasta was out of this world. Beautiful food and a beautiful country.

8. What is one place you really want to travel to?

I am torn between Australia and america. Australia because it looks beautiful and growing up I would always watch Steve Irwin. America because there are so many famous areas to visit. Maybe New York or Disney haha.

9. Have you ever had a crazy experience while shooting photographs and if so what was it?

Nothing crazy recently. But my honeymoon was in Kenya, and I remember we were on a safari and we had come across a lion who had just eaten their lunch. We were so close to this lion and the guides were saying it was fine because she would not be hungry anymore. But i could not take my eye of the lion through fear so i didn’t want to look through the lens resulting in missing the chance for some great photos.

10. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you would like to share with the readers.

Thank you all to everyone who has liked and followed my photography. Thank you to everyone that reads my blog and takes time to leave me comments. I understand how busy life is and it means the world when people take time out of their busy schedule to like and comment on my work and so I will always reply to everyone. And i wanted to say a huge thank you to you Pooja, for taking the time to interview me and giving me this opportunity. Your blog was the first to captivate and inspire me to carry on blogging. I learnt so much about blogging from you, so thank you.
