Blogger Interview With Lavanya

Blogger Interview

I want to thank Lavanya for being a part of this interview- she has a wonderful blog that I know you will enjoy so please do feel free to stop by and check it out using the link below.

  1. Thank you so much for being part of this interview. Please tell us a little about yourself and your blog.

Thank You Pooja for taking time to listen to me. For the past 4 years, I have been silently brewing coffee in my blog site “Coffee talks” (https://www.velzblog.com).  I am based out of one of the most progressive cities of India blessed with benevolent weather, Bangalore. Obviously, I am also one among the huge IT crowd. And this pandemic has locked me inside the house with laptop and headphones.

  1. What inspired you to start a blog?

I started writing since childhood, though my blog is only 4 years old. It started with apology letters as a school girl, fictional stories during my teens, essays, Journals written more as a holiday homework.  Basically, I feel I can express myself well when I write than I speak. I am a technical sales person by profession, so I have to speak a lot for selling. But, the rest of the time I prefer to write than speaking. I am not an introvert, but I would rather text someone than dialing a number to say hello. It is not out of laziness, but more of a comfort.

In fact, I wrote an article about what made me blog.

  1. I like the whole “coffee talks” concept behind your blog- what inspired that?

Now, this is a very interesting question. Coffee is a great way to ease into relationship could be platonic, romantic or work. On a busy day at work, I long for that 15 minutes coffee/tea break, that’s where my inspiration starts. I spend plenty of time alone during my business travels, this is where those inspirations get a shape.

Another reason for variety of subjects in my Blog. I write about my exotic travel, my honest private experiences, books and movies that created an impact. But my personal best is finding rationale behind unanswered spiritual questions in everyone’s mind.

  1. What are some of your favorite things about blogging?

When I publish a blog, it gives a sense of complete liberation. A euphoria engulf me once those lingering thoughts gets transformed into expressions. And to add cherry on top, if someone resonates my writings in the same sense as I tried to express, I leap with no bounds. Also I have consistent handful of readers to provide their valuable suggestions and motivate me to write more.

  1. When did you know you wanted to be a writer or write?

When I didn’t find a good listener to share all my ‘bottled up’ emotions, I chose writing as a medium to share to unknown faces. Apparently, I found more readers than listeners. Slowly I started sharing my ideas, expressions, and then my thoughts and experiences.

  1. Who are some of your writing inspirations?

My first inspiration is my son and his friends and their special abilities. For many it could be jibber jabber, but to me it is another mode of communication without language. I have learnt many life lessons from him, but much more to learn.  I also follow many WP bloggers, some of their writings are very intense. It helps me branch out and find my own answers. Though biographies of great leaders is an interesting genre, I awe many everyday unsung heroes who fight for their life. I do like books and movies, but my best inspiration is from people around me. There is so much to learn from each and every one.

  1. What is your favorite food?

I am a typical south Indian vegetarian, I love super spicy tangy food. I do like to explore multi cuisine. Thai and Mexican are my favorites but nothing like a home cooked simple healthy meal.

  1. If someone offered you a million dollars to never drink coffee again would you take it?

A million dollar…… I don’t know what I will do with so much money. But, Why not? For me that 15 minutes break with my ‘coffee buddies’ is more important than coffee. And honestly, I am a decent cook, but my coffee and tea is not that great. I panic, when an unknown guest ask me for a cup of tea. Recently, a friend who visited me, promised to carry her thermos next time with tea for her and for me J

  1. What is your favorite movie?

I am movie buff, Language is never a barrier. I enjoy all genres, but emotional movies are very close to my heart. There are two movies which I can watch over and over again and still feel like I watched it for the first time.

Beautiful Mind – I am a mother of an Autistic child, though I watched this movie before my son was born, it still captured a very special place in my heart.

Shawshank Redemption – The narration is the best part of this movie, Morgan Freeman in his magnetic voice, will take us easily transport us to their lives. Amazing movie till date.
