I am so pleased to be sharing this interview with Aadhya– a brilliant young blogger that I have really enjoyed the work of! Feel free to check out her blog which will be linked below.
- Thanks so much for being a part of this interview. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what your blog is about.
My name is Aadhya. I’m 11 years old and I live in British Colombia, Canada. I love to read, write, sing and listen to music. I love camping, cooking, dancing, swimming, origami, coding, hanging out with my friends, and trying new activities! I love dogs, cats, and pigs (yeah, I just said pigs). I am also in an organization for girls called Girl Guides of Canada. In my free time, I work on my small fundraising project to support some charity organizations. I make and sell handmade greeting cards and donate the income to Cystic Fibrosis Canada and for literacy causes.
My blog is technically how I express myself in my OWN way. I write what I’m thinking of, my thoughts, feelings and emotions (sometimes it’s really random). Even my life experiences, what I’ve been through and other stuff like that.
- When did you start your blog and what made you decide to start blogging?
I started blogging in June of 2020 during the quarantine. It wasn’t that easy for me during that time, it was really stressful with school, being safe wherever I went and being away from family. I needed some way to release my thoughts and I did not have blogging on my mind, but it still happened, so here I am.
- You’re a little younger than most of the bloggers I’ve interviewed which is great- you’re getting an early start to blogging which I wish I had. What are some advantages and disadvantages of blogging at a younger age?
It’s definitely easier for me to write. Just, it goes smoothly when I start, I can add what I want. At this age, it’s ok for me to make as many mistakes as I want, that’s how we learn, although it’s not a good thing, but readers aren’t that expectant. I can express my opinions, perspectives and share my experiences. Something that is a bit hard blogging at my age is thinking of what to write. I always write a post a day before posting because it always takes me at least a week to figure out what to write and there’s still editing to be done. Also, being a young blogger, I still have school, homework, family, and days where I’m just not in the mood. It’s very time-consuming, I can’t always take time out after school to write a new post.
- How has blogging changed your life?
Blogging has changed my life in many different ways. I love writing and it makes me happy. It has opened different learning avenues and helped me grow as an individual.
- Do you see blogging as something you would like to do as a career/full-time or do you think it will be more of a hobby?
I’m honestly going to keep blogging as a hobby rather than a career. There are many other things I want to do with my life. I am a lot better at other things, but who knows, it might change in a couple of years. I still love blogging, but I’ll keep it as a hobby.
- What has been your favourite blog to write so far?
Okay, so um… this is a hard one. I think my favourite posts to write so far are probably The Power of Peer Pressure and The Story of My Biggest Fear. They’re both about something I went through, that’s what makes them special. My most favourite post to write so far is More About Me just because it’s about me. Lol
- What is your favourite food?
My favourite food is quiche. You can have it for any meal! That makes it the best!
- Who are some of your favourite writers?
Two of my favourite writers are, Robert Munsch, I read him a lot as a child and his books were always so entertaining (I still read his books now), and Tui T. Sutherland. At one point, I had a major obsession with her novel series “Wings of Fire”.
- What is one place you really want to travel to?
I really want to travel to Bora Bora, Mauritius, Tanzania, Poland and France, but if I were to pick one, it would be Bora Bora.
- Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you would like to share with the readers
