Blogger Interview With Michelle

Blogger Interview
So excited to share this interview with you guys- Michelle is a wonderful blogger so please do take some time to go check out her blog
1. Thanks so much for being a part of this interview. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what your blog is about.
My name is Michelle Waweru, I’m a Kenyan student, 19 years old turning 20 this year(yaaay to me not being a teen anymore😂) My blog is mostly about mental health awareness, my journey in mental health, a couple of rants on various topics that make me tick and a book series. As you can tell I’m random.
2. When did you start your blog and what made you decide to start blogging?
What inspired me to start this blog? Well around mid February last year I had a thought to start a blog.At first I thought of it as a diary, so it was private for a while with a bunch of random monologues….then later I felt a need to just talk about my mental health journey and a couple of other rants to anyone who cared! This year I also started a book series as well and it’s been going great.
3. What are some of your favourite posts to write so far?
My favourite posts are mostly about my mental health journey. To be honest it felt really relieving talking about something that has been surrounded by such stigma. Also I love my book series, it feels like I’m living my dream of being a story teller and let me tell you, it feels great.
4. You write about a number of topics- what inspires you to share these posts especially the more personal ones which can sometimes be difficult to share?
What inspires me mostly is the great feedback I get from people who read it. At first I never thought anyone would bother but I get positive comments from as far as China and India! Also I feel like something else that gets me going is how much my blog has improved my writing. Exhibit A: comparing my first post to my more recent post. It’s a great motivator for me.
5. What are some of your long term goals with blogging?
My long term goals for blogging include getting more people to read my blogs. I mostly aim to spread mental health awareness and it would be great if it got to more people. I also would love to finish my book series someday and hopefully get it published!
6. In what ways has blogging changed your life?
Not to be dramatic but blogging has actually changed my life massively. Other than the amazing fact that I get to read most people’s stuff and satisfy my reading appetite, I have also met so many new people through this. I have also improved so much on not only my writing confidence but also in my general confidence. All in all I can confidently say that I have found my voice, and I intend to use it alright!
7. What is your favourite food?
My fav food…that’s a hard one. But I love my mum’s homecooked chicken, seriously…..wow.
8. What is your favourite childhood memory?
My favourite childhood memory is this one time when I went to see a big dam that was really close to where we lived back then. I remember how nauseous I got looking down at the water from the height I was at, but I somehow still remember it. Too bad the dam was recently closed off to the public plus me moved so….yeah.
9. What was your favourite cartoon growing up?
My favourite cartoon was Johnny Bravo. I mean it was Johnny Bravo, it was awesome, I still watch it on You Tube and ooooh mama.

  6. Same here. When I was a teen, we went to a place to do parachuting. When we climbed up the tower, I took a look at the ground beneath me and I almost fainted. It’s so dizzy. I have two companions who were both so brave, but I was a nervous wreck. LOL.

    1. But you are brave to discuss ideas. 😅
