  10. So true! I was trying to teach my brother only yesterday the importance of humility. I don’t think I got very far lol

    1. Lol keep trying!

      1. I shall do!

    2. Sadly it takes time and a massive amount of effort in your part. Think of it this way you are a branch in an ocean of thoughts and actions most of them are his or hers then a storm happens called friends inputting there thoughts and corrupting his/ hers . Problem is you have to navigate all that on top of the small life they have lead so far. Life experience is truly the best teacher

      1. Unfortunately I think you might be right there. Aged 19 I was involved in a court battle to help keep my vulnerable now father-in-law from losing his home, I’ve been a carer for two relatives since and flew the nest to live with my partner at 22. Our first home caught fire in 2016 and we were homeless for a year, sleeping each night on my parents’ dining room floor. Running a home and dealing with all that that entails as well as having a lasting relationship, getting married and making that work definitely does shape you up as an adult. I can remember my brother getting upset about breadcrumbs in the butter at home and he said that he couldn’t wait to move out because of it. Having lived independently for 9 years now and having seen near-homelessness first and second-hand, something like that is extremely inconsequential to me. I was lucky enough to wade my own way into adulthood but I fear my brother may be thrown in at the deep end.

        1. Sadly, there is little we can do to prevent that. However trying each day to guide them in to adult hood slowly is the only way help them grow and In hopes that they will have listened to all we had to say. And apply that once they have experience it.

          1. Absolutely. I know that he listens to me, I know that he loves me and he knows that I love him too, that’s the main thing.

            1. Amen, the best thing for him, is to simply learn and experience life as much as he can before adult hood as we both agree. Thank you for the splendid conversation. You much be very mature. I often am not able to convers with many in today’s world. There so full of them selves plus there values are a 180. It’s been a pleasure.

              1. You’re more than welcome, truly. If it’s any consolation, I often feel too old for my years. It can be a lonely place sometimes, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
