Blogger Interview With Compassion

Blogger Interview

I want to thank Compassion for joining me for this interview today and I want to encourage everyone to check out her blog because it’s really wonderful. As always her blog will be linked below after the interview.

1. Thanks so much for being a part of this interview. Tell us a little bit about yourself and what your blog is about.

Thank you for having me!

My name is Compassion Clement. I’m a Nigerian (4th year college) student. I’m 22 years old and would be 23 on 30th of June (yaayy). I love writing. I’ve been writing short stories as a kid though they end up in my room.

My blog; Heartstrings, is were I talk about all things LOVE, single hood, relationships, and marriage. I do dabble into other topics too like posts on how to deal with life but mostly they are related..

2. When did you start your blog and what made you decide to start blogging?

I started blogging last year, June 3rd. Yesterday was actually my anniversary. During that time, I was having relationship issues and coupled with the pandemic, I was bored out of my mind. I was always writing in my diary then a thought struck me, why not make it public?

Alot of people I talk to always have something to complain about in their relationship, friendship, marriage, or even as singles. Some have met me seeking for advice and stuff.

(In my mind, I was like yo! I’ve got problems too)

That was when I created the blog, hoping to reach out to people who have issues with loving, relationships, and life generally.

3. You write about a number of topics on your blog- do you have a favourite topic to write about?

Yes I do have a favourite topic. I love writing about Love, how to go about relationships, how to deal with heartbreaks… Stuffs like that.

I even started a series where I talked about love languages. This was after, I observed that my partner wasn’t showing me love the way I wanted it. You can find it here https://passionblogcom.wordpress.com/2020/07/15/love-languages/

Another favorite topic I love to write about is maintaining mental health.

Once or twice I slipped into depression and the feeling wasn’t funny. So I decided to write something about it. You can find it here https://passionblogcom.wordpress.com/2021/05/15/coping-with-depression-8-strategies-to-overcome-depression-without-prescribed-medication/

4. What inspires you to continue blogging?

What inspires me to continue blogging is that I know that somehow, even if its not right now, I’m helping someone out there with one problem or the other.

Also, everyday something new happens in my life. It may be with my partner, my friends, my family, or just me personally. I learn from these things and share my experience just like I did here https://passionblogcom.wordpress.com/2021/05/24/its-been-a-rough-week-%f0%9f%98%aa/

Also, writing on this blog has impacted positively in my life in lots of ways. I no longer bottle things up, my writing has improved, and as someone told me, I’m improving in my command of English Language.

All these inspires me to keep on writing.

5. What are some of your long term goals for blogging?

Every blogger’s goals are more views, more likes, more comments and more followers. Same goes for me too.

Also, I hope to reach out to as many people as I can if not physically then through my blog. To let them know that they are not alone and there are solutions.

Lastly, like I said before, I love writing. Currently I’m writing a novel and I hope to punish it soon.

6. How do you balance blogging and everything else going on in your life?

At some point last year, I stopped blogging because I couldn’t balance it with trying to fend for myself during the pandemic.

But since I resumed school, I received a blogging advice from someone. He said I should schedule my writing so I don’t feel overwhelmed.

So currently, even with going to lectures and stuff, I try to write something new every week.

7. What is your favourite food?

That’s a hard one😂. Well, it’s a traditional one like I told you I’m a Nigerian. So my favourite food is “okro soup and tuwon shinkafa (rice meal)”. Asides that I love noodles and fried eggs. And then shawarma. Let me stop here or the list will keep going…I’m a foodie!

8. Do you prefer spicy or sweet foods?

Sweet foods please.

9. If you could have any superpower what would it be?

I would love to be able to control time.

10. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything you would like to share with the readers.

That’s pretty much all I want to say however, let me say a huge thank you to the reader for coming this far. For creating time out of your busy schedule to read this interview, I’m really grateful for the love.

Also thank you Pooja for this interview. I’m really honored to be here.
