Some plants can be cut an re rooted by placing one of the leaves with a small root in a glass of water until the root grows out, then it can be replanted in the ground, or in a pot, or it can continue to grow in the glass with water. That’s what this word reminds me of.

Just googled and the word scion means a young tree shoot for grafting or rooting purposes. Well, family is everything. Hahaha. Sometimes it makes one feel a little mafia like just to think of the word “family”.
