Reacting To More Of Your Favourite Songs

I did a post a little while ago asking you to leave your favourite songs in the comments below so I can react to them. I was really pleasantly surprised by how many songs you guys left and since last week I have been reacting to them.

Since, I got so many songs I get to do like a whole series of reacting posts and this is the second post in that series. I hope you enjoy the following songs as much as I did and feel free to check out my first reacting post by clicking here.

All of the following were recommended by thefeministwriterwhogoesmeh (which may be one of the best usernames I’ve seen on here):

Maroon 5 – Misery

I spent a lot of my teenage and young adult years listening to Maroon 5 so this song was definitely not new to me. In fact, I’m pretty sure both myself and my entire family know the words to most of their songs because I kept playing their songs so often. Back to this one, I really like it. It’s catchy, I remember loving the video when it first came out and it’s just a fun song to listen to (or sing along to in your bedroom to annoy your neighbours like I’m doing now.) Will definitely be listening to this again in the future.

Maroon 5 – This Love

Again, I listened to this song all the time when I was a teenager. I mean I didn’t understand any of the lyrics because I was too young to but Maroon 5 is so catchy you just can’t ignore them. Will definitely be listening to it again in the future.

Maroon 5 – Moves Like Jagger ft. Christina Aguilera

This song has so many memories attached to it! You know that point in life when you fully stop being a child and realise you’re a teenager? Well, I was just starting that when this song came out and it’s one of the first songs I really listened to and heard the lyrics to and everything. Before that I was too young to really care too much about music but I did a total 180 when as a teenager and music became a big aspect of who I was. This song brings me back to those days and it’s so nice to reminisce and think about how much my taste in music has changed since then. Still love this song though!

It Was Always You – Maroon 5

This song was new to me. I’m not sure why I haven’t heard this one before but I really enjoyed it. It has that Maroon 5 sound to it, I like the lyrics and it’s another catchy song that will probably be stuck in my head for a few days at least. Loved it and loved finding a new Maroon 5 song to get into!

Kenny Vehkavaara & Rob Piltch – Mediterranean nights

The comment said that this was a Latin jazz song which got me really excited because that’s one genre I have almost no experience with. I love listening to music that’s new to me. This song was amazing. It was fun but also felt kind of deep and although it had elements of traditional jazz music it also had elements of Latin music and the combination of the two was just perfect. To be honest, I was dancing in my room listening to this when my sister walked in to join me and we had a fun time so thanks for the awesome recommendation. I will definitely be listening to this song again and I’ll also try looking into more Latin jazz. If anyone has more recommendations please leave them in the comments below.

These songs were recommended by Joshua Pregbaha:

JUDAH. – Fullness of God

Christian rock has never been something I’ve been into but I that was the whole point of the post. To get into new genres or to hear songs I wouldn’t have found on my own. I really enjoyed this song. It was very calming and has a great sound. I would listen to it again.

Judah & the Lion – Beautiful Anyway

REALLY enjoyed this song! I love rock in general and this song had the kind of sound I’m used to and love. I also loved the lyrics. It was so uplifting/motivating. I try to surround myself with things that will bring me joy and positivity so I will most definitely be listening to this song in the future.

Kanye West – Come to Life

You can say whatever you want about Kanye but when it comes to music he knows what he’s doing. I haven’t heard most of his newer music so this was new to me but I really liked the song. The video is incredible and the song is too.

Jervis Campbell- Praise Him Forever

I loved this song and I like rock in general so the sound was something my brain just knows to enjoy I guess if that makes any sense. Either way, I really liked this song and I probably will listen to it again in the future.

These songs were recommended by Adepoju Ibukunoluwa Christiana who is actually the wonderful person that gave me the idea to write a post reviewing your favourite songs. She did a similar post and I thought it was such a great idea so I decided to give it a try myself.

BTS JIMIN – FILTER

I don’t live under a rock so of course I know BTS and I know a couple of their really popular songs. I’m not that into Kpop to be honest. I do love Kdramas though. Either way, loved the song and I will most definitely be listening to it again.

BTS Jimin – Lie

Again, this song was new to me but I really enjoyed it. It has a really great sound and it’s obviously quite catchy just like most Kpop songs. I like the lyrics too- at least the translation of them. I know sometimes things get lost in translation but I guess we can’t help that. Will definitely be listening to this one again as well.

This song was recommended by Tega. Well technically, she mentioned some of the artists she listens to and I had already done reviews for songs by the rest but I realised I hadn’t done any for Juice WRLD and I absolutely love his music so I decided to review this song since it’s the first song I heard by him.

Juice WRLD – Lucid Dreams

I loved Juice WRLD and his music. I think he was a fantastic artist and this was one the first song I heard by him. A friend of mine sent it to me and I have enjoyed his music ever since. I really love the sound of it and the music video is super cool too. I’m not sure if it’s just me but the song kind of gives me 2000’s vibes and as someone who grew up in that decade I love that. Listen to this song often and will be listening to it often in the future too.

The following songs were recommended by David Folstad:

The Beatles- I’ll Follow The Sun

As you guys know, I really love The Beatles and I’m a huge fan of their music. I have heard this song a couple of times in the past and I loved listening to it again. It has that classic Beatles sound that you can’t go wrong with. This is exactly the kind of music I’ve been into for the last few years so this was really one of my favourite recommendations. I most definitely will be listening to this song in the future!

Roberta Flack – Killing Me Softly With His Song

LOVE IT! Just absolutely loved this song. I believe I have heard this song before but I can’t remember when. She has an amazing voice, the song is amazing and everything about this song is just a yes for me. I will definitely be listening to this song very often in the future.

This song was recommended by Poet of the Light:

Broken Things – Ryan Adams

This song was new to me but I really enjoyed it. I really liked the musicians voice and the way this song sounds in general. It kind of a heavy song with a lot of emotions behind it and I generally love that kind of music. Music with meaning behind it or music that makes you feel a certain way. I will definitely listen to this song again.

This song was recommended by Hope:

Harry Styles – Falling

I love Harry Styles so I’m not surprised in the least bit by how amazing this song is. It’s absolutely brilliant and I love that he kept the music video simple because the song is so heavy with emotion. That way the listener can focus on the music instead of being distracted by the video. I absolutely loved it. The tune kind of reminds me of another song but I can’t put my finger on which one. If anyone can figure it out or if someone knows it this song samples another song let me know in the comments below- I will be eternally grateful!

EDIT: I remembered which song it reminds me of! It reminded me of Mandy by Barry Manilow. Listen to the song by Harry Styles (at 0:46 in particular) and then listen to the chorus of Mandy and tell me they don’t sound super similar. The tune/way it’s sung is so similar. This was driving me a bit nuts so I’m glad I figured out what sound I was thinking of lol.

Anyway, that’s it for today but I have a bunch more songs left to review which I’m looking forward to. Thanks to everyone who left a recommendation and I look forward to hearing more of your favourite songs. I’m probably going to have to make a couple more posts with the reviews till I’m done reviewing them all so I’m sorry if it’s too much for you guys but I’m really having A LOT of fun with this so expect more of these in the future 😂

Have you heard any of the songs mentioned above? Did you particularly enjoy any of them? Did you think the Harry Styles song sounds a little similar to the Barry Manilow one or am I losing my mind? Let me know in the comments below or simple stop by and say hi!
