‘This is Your Story’ Book Tag

Introduction

I want to thank Sheri Dye for creating this wonderful tag! I first saw it on her blog and although I had decided to not do tags and awards anymore, this tag was too good to resist. I have been a reader all my life and all I’ve ever wanted was to write my own story. However, that’s not possible in real life so I will settle for creating my story with this tag and then daydream about it later. Do check out Sheri’s wonderful blog (especially if you like books!) by clicking here.

The Rules

  • Link back to the creator @ReadBetwixtWords

  • Tag a friend or two
  • And have fun with it!

Questions

Author
Who’s writing your story?

Hmm… I’m going to have to say Jack Kerouac. This was such a hard choice to make since there are literally so many brilliant authors out there. I’ve chosen him because I think we have a lot in common and I think if we met we would like each other and get each other. I think it’s always a good idea to be similar to and get along well with the person writing your story- we don’t want to end up as villains in our own stories right?? I think, or at least hope that he would write my story like he did Dean Moriarty’s. Not always perfect but real.

World
What literary world is your story part of?

This is a tough one since I rarely read fantasy books and I feel like those have the best worlds. But I did recently read Realms of the Mist by Jude Itakali and I loved the world he created so that’s the one I’m picking!

Romance
Who will be your love-interest?

That’s an easy one. Mr. Darcy of course. It’s always been him and it’s always going to be him!

Appearance
What will your character look like?

This was such a hard one but I would have to say Sam from perks of being a wallflower. I think she’s really cool and relatable and I would want to look like her.

Sidekick
What character/creature would you have by your side?

This is another difficult one but I would have to say Edward Cullen from Twilight. Before you start typing out a hate comment hear me out. If you had someone by your side wouldn’t you pick the super hot guy who was nearly impossible to kill who could read minds?? Because I would!

Good, Evil, or Gray
Where does your character stand?

Most definitely grey. I have always been drawn to books with grey characters because those are most realistic. I think all humans have good and bad- just different amounts of it. I think we all make mistakes and we all make some good choices.

Designation
What will you be? (Human, Fairy, Pirate, Princess, etc..)

Human. Good ol’ human for me. I’ve never liked fantasy much and have never wanted to be anything but human.

Opposition
Who will be your nemesis?

Well I actually already have a real life nemesis but I guess I have to pick a book character for this tag. I would pick Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones because I think she will be a worthy opponent. She is brilliant, beautiful and truly evil.

The Ending
How does your story end?
*Spoiler Alert!*

I think it will be a bittersweet ending because again that’s probably most realistic. I think I’ll get what I want but still won’t be happy with it or fully satisfied. Like the whole, be careful what you wish for. Kind of like these books:

My Nominees

I don’t want to pick anyone specific now because I can’t think of anyone who deserves to be nominated but because tags and awards can be extremely time consuming and I know a lot of bloggers prefer not to do them. For that reason, I want to nominate every person reading this post. If this is something you would be interested in being a part of please do try out this tag and don’t forget to let me know when yours is up because I would love to read your answers! And if you don’t want to do the whole tag let me know what book is most like your life in the comments below!

  1. Different type of blog. Neat!

  2. Hi, enjoy all of them, and particularly your idea on “Good, Evil, or Gray”. So true. I never like black-and-white characters. I always enjoy gray. That echoes with me a lot. Also I prefer Wuthering Heights more than Jane Eyre, but I know many people would disagree. Mr Rochester is a victim of his own fate and he doesn’t fight back very much, but Heathcliff is a fighter. Very much flawed, but still he is fascinating.

    1. Thank you and I definitely get what you mean about Heathcliff. He doesn’t give up or give in and he is generally exactly what I think of when I think of a grey character. He is so flawed but at the same time he’s still a victim.

  3. Brilliant, hun, just brilliant! I would definitely read your story!
I love that your love interest was Darcy and the character by your side would be Edward.. That would be such an interesting combination.

And, can I just say, there’s a very dorky (and much younger) version of myself doing a happy dance in my brain right now.. I am so excited and touched that you did my tag, Pooja, thank you!

    1. Aww thanks so much!! I’m glad you liked it and I’m glad you came up with this awesome tag! I hope more people do it too cos I’m nosy and wanna read their answers 😜

I feel like Darcy and Edward would hate each other but end up respecting their place in my life?? 😅

      1. Thank me? Thank you! I really enjoyed making this one and it would be great it more people tried it out.. I would love to see what kind of stories everyone came up with, too!

And I agree.. I see them coming up with some kind of gentlemen’s agreement. (In my head I’m picturing Will and Jack in Pirates of the Caribbean..)

        1. I’ve already seen a couple people do the tag so yay!

          1. Really? That’s so great! *happy dance*

(But, if you don’t mind me asking, shouldn’t the link have notified me or something? Does it do that?)

            1. If they linked to your blog you wouldn’t get a notification it’s only if they link to a specific page. The last one I saw was on zainab’s blog feel free to check it out: https://zainabchats.wordpress.com/2022/04/14/this-is-your-story-book-tag/

And I think you’ll find more if you use the search bar to search for the tag!

              1. Ooh.. That makes sense! 😅
You didn’t have to go out of your way to do all this but I really do appreciate it, thank you!
And I don’t know why I forget the search bar is useful for such things.. but I do. I’ll try that out.

Stay safe and have a fantastic weekend, Pooja, Happy Easter! 🌷

                1. No trouble at all! Haha yeah the search bar is easy to forget but super helpful.

                  Happy Easter!

                  1. Still, I’m grateful.
And I’m sure it will be more helpful now. I wrote myself a reminder. 😂

Thank you! I hope you enjoyed your Easter as well!

                    1. Oh good lol!
