I Messed Up (Double Oops Edition)…

As you may or may not have noticed, I accidentally posted two posts yesterday. The mental health one was meant for yesterday and the book review was meant for today. I guess I scheduled them wrong so I woke up with a not so nice surprise. It also messed up my numbers and stuff cos everyone was probably like “WTF?” including WordPress’s algorithm lol.

Would love it if you checked out both posts and left a like/comment if you can. Apologies for any inconvenience. I’m embarrassed since it’s such a rookie mistake but I was super busy yesterday and I think I was a little distracted while scheduling the post. Lesson learnt- don’t watch K-dramas in the background while scheduling posts. These things occasionally happen I guess. So, thanks to my silly mistake I don’t really have anything to post today except this. Have a great day/evening/night everyone (if my silly little brain schedules this properly and you actually read it, that is)!

Have you ever made a dumb mistake like this one? If so, do tell! Let me know in the comments below so I don’t feel so alone and dumb lol!

  1. I have made that mistake and we all make mistakes. It is okay, you just blessed us twice in one day. Have a wonderful day/night and remain safe.

  2. Sorry, right now I’m kind of hit and miss and sporadic in my online stuff. Things happen. I’ve been trying to do stuff from someone else’s computer right now. It’s taking twice as long and I’m not as productive. Plus have stuff I am helping out with. So, sorry sporadic but try to catch up to you when I can.

    1. I was having one of those days where everything goes wrong and now I realise why. Didn’t even notice it was Friday the 13th but that explains a lot.

  3. Pooja, this is not a dumb mistake, no worries! ☺️ Heck, I post up to, and no more than, five times per day. Be well. ❤️

        1. That’s a great way to think of it and yes perhaps that was it! The Universe always knows best and I am completely sure it happened for a reason.

  4. Um…hello? Do you know me? I make dumb mistakes every day of my life!!! Don’t be so hard on yourself! I did find it pretty quick, but didn’t really give it a second thought! I’m oh so observant!

  5. 🙂 Do not beat yourself up for making such a mistake.

    I have a habit of double-checking everything.

In addition to scheduling posts on specific dates via my WordPress dashboard, I always look at the calendar on my laptop computer.

Now, it was not always like that.

Many years ago, I made a similar mistake; instead of scheduling my blog post for the following day, I accidentally scheduled it for two days later (That was way back in 2012).

I have learned the hard way that I should pay close attention to the dates that I am scheduling my blog posts for.

  6. Mistake?? Ha! The mistake was made so this post could be made so you could tell us newbies (learn about the scheduling post option).
    Thanks mistake 🤣

  7. I don’t think it was a dumb mistake, and if it makes you feel better, I completely forgot that I had scheduled my last blog post. It needed more editing but “Oops!” it was published anyways. It didn’t really change the outcome and I still need to tweak it a bit. It happens.

    1. That does make me feel better. I’ve done that once too and forgotten to edit but I guess like you said these things happen. Life goes on.

  8. I have a series on my professional website called ‘case of the month’ and they are always scheduled to upload on the first of every month. So, one time I was so tired I hit the publish button instead to scheduling. The post was supposed to go out 2 months later.

  9. I have made scheduling mistakes a few times and it makes me so mad. It’s so avoidable. But twice I’ve gotten messages that said “Schedule missed.”

    1. Yeah it’s really frustrating. I have missed some schedules too thanks to WP but there’s nothing I can do about that.

  10. Even from the short time we are following each other, I could see this was an accident. So no worries.

Things like that happen to me, too. Once, I accidentally scheduled one language version of my bilingual posts on a different day. As they are linked to each other, it caused a lot of confusion. But then, again, my trusty readers knew how to deal with it.

I’m sure, so do yours! 😊

    1. Yeah I think these things happen occassionally. Most people here are so nice so my followers have been very sweet about the little accident. Glad yours were too!

  11. It totally happens at times. It’s like a double whammy. Post after post. You will be alright. I understand the measures of not trying to miss a day and add value each post.

  12. Haha, that’s not a mistake. That’s a treat. Like 2 blogs of yours in 1 day is great thing. I believe. Please keep doing it. I won’t mind of you share 4-5 blogs in a day. Although that would mean countless notifications for you 😝
