It Is Officially July

Half the year is already over. I sort of can’t believe how fast it’s going. I think the older you get the faster time seems to go by.

The first half of this year was interesting for me. It had some highs and it also had some lows. I started working full-time as a freelancer, I had some fun experiences, I started therapy again. I’ve also learnt more about myself over these last six months which has been somewhat difficult but also eyeopening.

I thought I would share some of the things I’m looking forward to for this second half of the year:

  1. Travel- I want to travel more and just go out more in general. It’s been a bit difficult to do because of work but if I plan myself well I think I’ll be able to schedule myself so that I can travel and work too.
  2. Have a spa day– this may come as a shock to some of you but I’ve never been to a spa. I really want to go to one though so I am hoping to go soon.
  3. Art- my mum and sister are giving me one of their canvases so that I can do some actual painting. Some of you may remember that I have been doing some painting on an app on my phone but I want to do some real art now.
  4. Guitar- one of my goals this year was to learn to play guitar, however, I still do not own one. Apparently they are a little expensive (that was sarcasm they are a lot expensive) so I’ve been saving up to get one and I think next month I’ll have enough to get the one I’ve had my eye on. Here’s to annoying all of you by learning every Johnny Cash song ever and sharing videos on WP!

That’s it for now. That I can think of at the moment anyway. What are you looking forward to during this second half of the year? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. Can make your own spa day at home. Take turns doing spa stuff on you, Mom and sister. Could bring you closer together. Just an idea. Happy Canada Day! July 1 is Canada Day!🇨🇦

    1. Happy Canada day to you

      1. Thank you!

    2. I can but I don’t want to haha. My sister and mum don’t like people touching them so I’ll probably have to find a friend to do the spa day with.

Happy Canada day- hope you had a good one! 🇨🇦

      1. That would make it hard. I’m not a fan of being touched either 🙂 Not sure how they would tolerate cucumber eye treatment or facial masks….would kind of suck if they hated it.

        1. Yeah I won’t force them to go, I’ll go with a friend who enjoys things like that.

          1. Good idea!

  2. Enjoy playing the guitar and I look forward to the videos 😊 I have been playing for many years – you never stop learning. If you can learn these four chords first, you will be able to play many different songs: G Em (E minor) C and D.

    1. I’ll keep those cords in mind, thanks so much for the advice. Guitar just sounds so fun I can’t wait to share what I learn on here 😄

  3. That’s a great plan!
Would love to hear guitar from you. Another thing to your aresenal.
My goals are to get at a better shape and achieve better fitness level.
Write more blogs, collaborate and learn more from people.
And few other things, here and there.
Best wishes Pooja. I hope you visit spa soon and maybe share your experience.

    1. Thanks so much and all the best with your goals!

  4. I love Johnny Cash! I hope you love playing the guitar. My Mum plays the ukelele and she says others have told her it’s a good starter instrument before playing the guitar

    1. Thanks and yeah I’ve heard people say ukulele is a good instrument to start with. I think it teaches you some of the techniques you need for guitar. Johnny Cash is 90% of why I want to play guitar lol!

      1. I fell into a burning ring of fire…

        1. I went down, down down…

          1. And the flames went higher

            1. Haha this is actually my favourite Johnny Cash song- it’s the first song I ever heard by him.

              1. Mine too actually! It reminds me of my uncle because he had that as his ringtone and that was the first time I heard about Johnny Cash!

                1. Oh wow how interesting, we have that in common!

    1. Hope you have a great one!

  5. Great to know that you have decided your goals for the next six months. May you visit spa soon and then share your experience with us. I have also decided my goals like, study well , writing new content which people like more, etc.
Thanks for sharing this post, I really enjoyed reading it.

    1. Thank you and I hope to share that experience with you guys soon. Good luck with your goals too.

        1. You’re very welcome ☺️

  6. Spa days are the best! You will love it Pooja. Very relaxing.

    1. I’m so excited for my first one! ☺

      1. 🤗🤗🤗

  7. I’ve never been to a spa either but that’s cause I have a phobia of strangers touching me. 🙈
I so badly want to travel in the second half of the year. With work and family stuff, I had to cancel two trips in the last two months. But I hope to get in a few outings in the next 6 months.
I hope you’re able to do these all. ❤️

My main hope for the rest of the year is to grow my business and hire one more person. *Fingers crossed*

    1. My sister has that too so I’m looking for someone to go with me lol!

Traveling is definitely tough but I really hope we can both travel some more soon.

Good luck with your business!! I wish you lots of success with it 💕

  8. I like seeing solid self-care goals. They look fun and inspiring. May you meet or exceed every one of them.

    1. Thanks and I hope so.

  9. Are you after a real spa day or to be pampered by someone? Expecting One and getting the other may dilute your craving however, without any experience, how else will you know which is truly desired? I’ve found, that life requires different levels of patients and flexibility to achieve the goals we set for ourselves. The short-term goals are in the present moment whereas long-term goals may mean a number of seasons to finish. Painting is a great way to feed and utilize your creativeness. My painting craving comes in stages as does learning another language. I’ve learned I am happier when I don’t burden myself with unnecessary or arbitrary deadlines. As long as I work towards my goal in seasonal chunks, I’ve neither failed to finish nor found it too overwhelming to complete. Writing has become my constant, my North star, sort to speak. Travel was also one of my goals that I haven’t been as steadfast at doing, yet I remain flexible and open that I will in due time. Enjoy, and love whatever it is you do or pursue.

    1. Definitely a spa day. I want to get a massage, my nails done and all the rest of it lol.
My art cravings are like that too. When I’m in the mood it’s a perfect creative outlet and when I’m not it’s just something I avoid.
I hope you can travel soon. That would be great.

      1. Yes, me too. Maybe win the lotto and buy a big rv. New dawn and a new town to explore life. Save writing and painting for rainy days. I hope you get your spa day when ever you need it.

        1. Thank you and I hope you win the lottery.

            1. I’m getting half though? Because if you win now it’ll be because of all the good energy I sent your way 😂

              1. Ok, OK… sounds fair. Come collect when I win. 😉

                1. When (not if) you win the lottery you will find me at your doorstep 🤑

                  1. Looking forward to it… oh, and meeting you too. 😉

                    1. But mostly the money? 😅

                    2. 🙂 Nooo- not really mostly. Just ummm, differently… 😉

                    3. Sureeee… 😂

                    4. You’ll know for sure once I won the lotto, right??

                    5. I guess so…

                    6. 😉 you guess???

                    7. I will keep guessing till you actually win the lottery 😜

                    8. You don’t seem so .. positive now! I think my chances may be declining!!

                    9. What??? I’m totally positive you’ll win 😌

                    10. Ok, ok. I’ll trust you.😉

  10. The days seem to be flying and time is gradually becoming short. So now I’m making hay while the sun shines.😊

    1. Yes I absolutely think so too. That’s wonderful I love getting some sun 🌞

  11. Hi, Pooja. Awesome post. I hope 2022 holds much more interesting endeavors for you and I am sure it will. I like your goals for 2022. The goal that relates to me in some way is that of Travel.

Personally, I would like to spend more time outdoors in general. As of now, the majority of my time is spent in front of my laptop screen doing my university work or freelance work. So I guess I am going to need to manage my time better and make time for myself.

Other than that, I also wish to hit at least 400-500 posts on my WP website by year-end. As of now, I have about 90. Another passive goal that I would like to meet is obtaining a good figure to fill in the traffic stats [visits, likes, etc.] of my WP site. For example, if I can have about 50 page views in a day before the end of 2022 then I will know that my site is reaching people and agreeing with them. But this one doesn’t really matter to me for now, as for now, I am focusing on the knowledge base of information available on my site.

    1. Thank you. I feel you with wanting to be outside more. I work as a freelancer too so most of my day is spent on my laptop as well.

Good luck with your goals and I hope you achieve all of them.

      1. 100%. It is good to take time out for yourself. Thank you for your kind words, Pooja. May the remainder of 2022 hold many more successes for you.

        1. Thank you so much.

  12. Yea, half of the year is already over. How time flies. So surprising😇

    1. Time is really flying. It’s crazy 😄

  13. Pack me in you bag pretty please. it sounds heavenly!💖💖

    1. Haha if I could I would! 💖

      1. awww just the thought that you would is sweet! 💖

        1. ☺️💕

  14. I am promoting my book and working on my second manuscript. It is challenging and exciting. I cannot wait to see what the rest of this year is going to be like for me. Thanks for sharing. Have a blessed day.

    1. That’s so wonderful. Could you leave the name of your book for me again? It wasn’t available on Kindle when I checked last time but I want to check again.

      1. My Life From the Back Burner by La’Brea Aquaria

        1. I’ll look it up on Kindle, thank you.

          1. You are welcome.

  15. My goals for the rest of the year is to learn to write better and different types of writing and not get to down when my job takes up way to much of my time. On a side note I came to be in July.

    1. Good luck with your goals and happy birthday in advance.

  16. Working on my 2022 goals: nutrition changes, getting more house cameras set up, cleaning out my jewelry armoire, learning my Canon camera, vlog growth, blog growth, cleaning out the basement, traveling. I will soon do a similar post with what all was accomplished versus not. What we accomplished was getting a dog, cutting our cable costs by streaming, decorating my office, and learning Final Cut Pro. It’s been a slow year but steady! Oh and I started exercising this year and we are focusing more on nutrition! I love having goals. It pushes me! I like your goals too. You can break them up and get specific and reach small little steps at a time! Have a good weekend

    1. Oh wow, good luck on all those awesome goals and glad you achieved a number of things in the first half of 2022! Have a great weekend too!

        1. You’re so welcome!

  17. Pooja, nice post! Thank you for sharing. It is really neat to read about your reflection halfway through the year. I too can’t believe it’s already July! Traveling is always great but I feel like with everything going on and the number of canceled and postponed flights makes it difficult to get around via plane. I have definitely turned to road trips close to home because of this as well as the price of airplane tickets. This has helped me open my eyes to the natural beauty I’m surrounded by in my area. There is a lot to do here that I never even realized. Sometimes when we go beyond the surface we find things that we didn’t even know were there. Thanks for the post!

    Best,
    Matt

    1. Thank you! You’re so right. Traveling is so difficult right now with the airlines overbooking and flights getting postponed. It’s also quite expensive. That’s why I’m also hoping to do more traveling in my area. Sometimes we miss hidden gems in our area because we’re traveling in other places.

  18. Great post! I love having things to look forward to in the future and building the anticipation! I’m very excited for you to get your guitar and I’m sure you will love it! Have a great month of July!

    1. Thank you and I love that too! I’m very excited for the next few months. Have a great July as well!

  19. Already July? It is quicker than the blink of an eye. Hmmm, I like all the options. The spa option too. I think I will always want to have more time. Time seems to be so scarce all the time.

    1. I know time is really flying and it stops for no one. I think we all would like to have more time but unfortunately that’s not possible.

  20. Great thinking

    1. Thank you so much

      1. You are highly welcome

  21. […] It all started a few weeks back. It was the end of June and I was coming up with some goals for the second half of this year. I realised I had never been to a spa and really wanted to have that experience and added that as one of my goals. I talk about it a little more on this post.  […]
