She Wept- Poetry

She wept

For the lovers who promised forever

But stayed never

She wept

For the friends

Who soon became distant memories

She wept

For the injustice in the world

Targeted towards the innocent

She wept

For the dreams she saw so clearly

But knew she would never achieve

She wept

For the life she had been promised

But was slowly stolen from her

She wept

For the creativity she had been born with

That had been destroyed by uniformity

She wept

For the person she had once been

That no longer existed
