Things To Do During Your Gap Year

As a lot of you know I decided to take a gap year before going to university and so I decided to share some of the things you can do during your gap year to make it more fun:

Travel

You can finally see all the places you’ve always wanted to see during your gap year. And you can choose to travel to different countries and stay there for a while or you can decide to explore your own country and go on a fun road trip. You can also finally do things like sky diving, bungee jumping or maybe just relax by the beach.

Read

You can finally read all the classic books everyone is always talking so highly about that you pretend to have read anyway. You can cross out all the books you had on your book bucket list!

Relax

Think about it when was the last time you relaxed? Like really relaxed without having literally anything to do? Well this can be a couple of months of relaxing like that!

Listen

First, listen to music. Listen to the sounds outside your windows. And listen to the people around you. Most importantly listen to yourself. Think about what you really want. Listen.

Create

Why not create a blog. Start a YouTube channel. Or start a tumblr page. Start a Pinterest page. Just do something creative and fun with your time!

Write

Try to write anything you want! Write some poetry, lyrics, a story or just anything that’s been on your mind because you will never have this much free time ever again.

Have fun

Do some stuff you’ve always wanted to do that you never had time for before like learning something new like an instrument or a new language! This is the perfect time to do this!

Research

You have an advantage over people who have already gone off to university- you have time. Make sure you do lots of research on what university you want to go to so you go to something that’s perfect for you! Plus you have time to think about what classes you want to take too!

    1. Thank you! Yeah I am really looking forward to doing a lot of things I have always wanted to do in my gap year! And thank you so much for the follow! 🙂

    1. Yeah I mean if you can afford to take a gap year you definitely should and if not you can still do all these things later on you just have to plan for it I guess 🙂

  1. I’m also currently on a gap year – I know how easy it is to let days slip by without doing anything too constructive, but this post is very motivational and is full of great ideas to help make the most of your gap year 😏

    1. Yeah I felt like I didn’t do much at the beginning of the new year so I just decided to make a list of all the things I should do! Hope you’re have a great gap year so far! Are you planning to start university in September?

      1. Yeah same, I’m working on being more productive now as well – and I am thank you, hope you’re enjoying yours too! And yes, I’m fortunate enough to have a place at Oxford to study Philosophy and Theology. Are you planning on going to uni this year?

        1. Yeah I’m hoping to go to university in September- to Canada I hope 🙂
I want to do history and political science. I am really looking forward to taking some classes in Philosophy too actually! 🙂

  2. Ooh nice, I thought about studying in America or Canada at one point because their universities are supposed to be awesome 😏 and that sounds really interesting! Yes, I’m sure you’ll enjoy Philosophy, it challenges the way you think, which can be so mind boggling but really enthralling at the same time 🙂

    1. Yeah their universities really sounded so interesting and fun. Yeah that’s why I want to learn Philosophy. I mean it kind of just changes the way you view things and teaches you so much about life. 🙂

  3. Yeah definitely, I’m sure you’ll have a great time 🙂 yeah, I think it’s always good to be able to look at things from different angles, which Philosophy encourages 😏
