Life Update #2

Just thought I would update everyone on what’s going on with my life at the moment and what I’ve been doing at home.

I’ve gone back to learning German. I don’t know if you guys remember but yeah I had been learning German earlier but I had stopped when I started university because it got too much. But now that I have some free time on my hands I decided to be productive and start learning German again. It’s been really fun actually and I’m happy that I still remember quite a lot of what I had learnt earlier!

I’ve also been trying to make new recipes and try out new foods that I generally wouldn’t have time to make. It’s really fun because as you guys know I really love cooking and trying new foods. Most of them are recipes I’ve been wanting to make for a while but have never had time to make.

I’ve also been relaxing for a bit because I’ve had a very tough semester and third year has seriously been no joke. After constantly doing tests, assignments, research papers and exams it’s nice to just sit down and do nothing for a few days. I’m sure I’ll get sick of it eventually but right now I’m just trying to enjoy it

I’m also starting on my TBR list and trying to read as many books as possible. There are so many amazing books I’ve been wanting to read and I thought I probably wouldn’t have so much free time on my hands again so I decided to spend some of reading. A lot of book reviews coming soon!

As for my mental health- I’ve actually been doing well and I haven’t felt that bad lately. I think that’s partly due to the meditation I’ve been doing lately- I’ve been doing a lot more meditation- and also due to the CBD oil. There have been a couple of moments when I’ve been anxious but they really were not that bad.

I’ve also gotten nominated for a lot of awards/tags recently which I am super thankful for but I don’t want it to interrupt my regular posts so I will be posting twice a day starting next Monday- one of the posts will be an award post and will be posted at a different time and the other will be one of my regular posts which will be posted at the time I regularly post which is 9 p.m EST. There will be twelve hours between the two posts because I don’t want to spam you guys with one post after another.

I’ve also started listening to a lot more music now and I am really loving 60’s music, old school hip hop and new female rappers right now. Let me know if you guys would be interested in a post about what songs/musicians I’m listening to at them moment.

  1. It is good to take it all in and relax after being so busy with University requirements! I find it to being quite rewarding to see how far one has come when they look back on where they started. Those relaxing moments help to bring all things into perspective. So glad you had time to CHILL and share. Lol. Be safe!

  3. Great update! Glad to hear you’re getting back into German and tackling your TBR list. I’ve been reading no more than usual, since there’s been so much school work! However I have managed to do a lot more blogging and engaging which is fun. Last month saw the best stats on my blog in three years! It would be great to read about what you’re listening to at the moment. I love adding new things to my playlist 🙂

I would love to read a post on the music you’re listening to at the moment, and would be interested to see what’s on your tbr list, I’m trying to get through my pile at the moment but I’m always looking for more to add! Seems like you’re making the most of actually having some time for relaxing, I’m trying to do the same and not let myself get overwhelmed, hopefully we all manage. Well done on the award nominations!

    1. The music post is definitely coming soon and more book reviews too! I think taking some time off and relaxing definitely helps.

  5. I love this update! So glad your mental health has been good! As for meditation, that sounds awesome! I think I asked this before but what CBD oil are you using again? Lastly, ugh I wish I could read more books. Back when Isaiah was a tiny tiny newborn and didn’t do much I was able to get SOME reading in. Now it’s nearly impossible! (Unless it’s a book about Harry The Bunny or something) Lol!

    1. Thank you! The CBD oil I’m currently using is OCS but I think that’s just for Ontario and doesn’t ship to the US. I have tried Herb Approach though and really liked the results with that too. Yeah I can imagine how busy you get with him and I’m sure reading isn’t always possible but I’m sure you’ll get more time to read as he gets a little older.

  6. I’ve tried learning foreign languages several times: French, Spanish, Japanese, and then sign. I love studying the English language, but other languages just don’t stick with me. What are you using for learning German? Any tips?

    1. Yeah it’s difficult to learn a new language as an adult. I think what’s helped me is staying consistent because I know if I skip one lesson I’m going to end up not doing any for like a month. I’m using Duolingo.

    1. Yeah I’ve tried learning it before but didn’t have enough time. You should definitely get back into Italian and Spanish- this is really the best time for it!

    1. Thanks! I’m a huge fan of 70’s music too but I’m just really feeling the 60’s right now- I think it’s because I just took a class on the Sixties.

  7. Is Megan Thee Stallion on your list of female rappers? I also like the idea of speaking German but I’ve never spent a day learning the language. It’s funny right?

    1. Yes I love Megan Thee Stallion- I think she a phenomenal rapper! Yeah German is kind of funny but also super easy because it’s a lot like English. I hope it gets a little easier too but I highly doubt it will lol!

  9. We normally watch German music of an evening. That would be a great way for you to practice your German through listening. Great to see you are taking on so much study and still finding it possible to keep up with your relaxing book reading. You will look back on this part of your life as the most productive.     1. That’s a really good idea I will be sure to check out some German music! Yeah I’m pretty sure this is as productive as I’ll ever be ahah!

      1. Watch their videos as not only is the music good but the scenery is magnificent. You should find German easier according to my wife who is European as the sentence construction is somewhat similar to Hindi according to her. She picked up Hindi faster than me because of that. 🙂

        1. I don’t know Hindi but I find German is somewhat similar to English so it isn’t too bad for me. I have been able to pick it up pretty well so far. Yeah I will definitely be on the lookout for the videos too!
