Please Don’t

Please Don't | Six Word Story

Please don’t tell me you still love me

Please don’t ask me to forgive you

Please stop saying you’ll change

Please stop trying to win me back

Please let me experience the pain of losing you

Because that’s the only way I’ll ever move on

About The Poem:

I have to admit, I’m sure my regular readers know this, I’m a skeptic when it comes to love. This poem is about how sometimes love can quickly turn to hate. Someone you absolutely love to the tee can do something or say something that changes that. And vice versa of course.

And even when the relationship or relationships turn into something we no longer want, it’s really difficult to let go and say goodbye even when we know moving on is for the best. It’s so difficult to move on especially when the person still is a big part of our life. Or if they refuse to accept that the relationship is over. When one person keeps interrupting your life, it’s hard to move on from them. And that feeling is what I was trying to encapsulate in the poem. You need to cut them out.

What did you think of this poem? Have you ever had a partner you were not able to move past because you still love them? Do you have someone that got away? Have you experienced something like what I mention in the poem? Let me know in the comments located below because I would absolutely love to hear your thoughts. Or simply stop by and say hi!

  10. Yes, be strong and get away from the toxic relationship. I know several people who’s life are mired in toxic relationship forever.

    1. Yeah it’s difficult but we need to get out of relationships like these.

      1. I know at least a couple of couples, all immigrants, who struggle to stay in the toxic relationship because divorce is too costly if not entirely ruinous to their finances.

        1. Yeah I know a few immigrants like that too. I think it also has to do with the fact that they don’t want to be on their own in a new place.

          1. That’s very true. The insecurity is a constant presence, which makes immigrants much more conservative in many of life’s challenging issues.

  11. Awww.. it’s tough.. but can I tell you how special you are.
Who needs him.. you’re too special.

  12. Ok. ( Jokes apart: why would anyone try to ‘please’ abusers? )

    1. I think it’s one of those things where abusers are able to manipulate their victims into blaming themselves.

      1. Still the victim won’t indulge them with that kind of language (please and all…) was my point.

        1. Not really because every victim is different which means they react differently and from what I’ve learnt many abusers do try very hard to stay in the lives of the victim and the victims often feel like they still rely on them or feel helpless because they are unable to start over. Also this poem was about my own personal experience and I don’t expect others to relate or even understand as it is my personal experience and journey. I’m not trying to speak for all victims or anything like that- I’m just trying to express my own feelings.

  13. Please🤝. As one girl who was constantly abused by my father who is now trying to pave his way back to my heart, my eyes really needed to see this. I am grateful. Thank you so much for this post.😘
