Awestruck by her beauty
As she walked towards me
Not one witty remark
Could I think of
The only words that came out of my mouth
“I love you”
Even after two decades
She left me as speechless
As the day we had met
About “For Forever”:
This poem is more romantic than most of the content you will find on this blog. Admittedly, I am not a romantic person. Quite the opposite actually. But I guess I was in a bit of a mood when I wrote this lol. To be honest I do have moments when my writing is a little more romantic. These moments are rare and most often fleeting but they are there.
With this poem in particular, it began when I started thinking about longterm relationships and the ones that really make it. Oftentimes the couples that stay together are the ones that continue to love one another and treat one another the same way they did when they first got together. Their love doesn’t fade because they make an effort to keep it alive. They love and cherish one another even when the relationship is no longer new.
What did you think of the poem? Have you met your forever person yet? Do you believe in true love and soulmates? Let me know in the comments section located below because I would absolutely love to hear from you or simply stop by and say hi!
