A quote from one of my favourite authors and someone I believe is one of the best writers of the 20th century! I read On The Road as a teenager and have been obsessed with his work ever since.
It all started when one of my best friends at the time started reading On The Road. She loved it and encouraged me to read it as well. Thankfully, I listened to her and did end up reading it and was so inspired by the book. I loved his adventurous spirit and I admired him for going out there and living his best life. In a way, I used this book as inspiration for myself to try new things. And to an extent I still do. On The Road is one of those books that stays with you forever and genuinely changes your life.
And I chose this particular Jack Kerouac quote because as a writer it really spoke to me. Most writers are forever looking for the right words and in the end when we find them we realise that they are so simple but yet so meaningful.
