Michele Ruiz Quote

What’s Up With Pooj?

You know that awkward moment when you’re supposed to be productive but accidentally end up rereading the entirety of the Twilight Saga minus New Moon because it’s your least favourite? Asking for a friend. Okay, it’s me. I may or may not have ended up being a little less productive and a little more reading in bed. But I had been waiting for Fall to start to reread the Twilight books and rewatch the movies. Which is what’s playing in the background as I write this post. I mean technically vampires are part of the spooky season even if they’re hot and shiny.

Next up I’ll be watching more Halloween movies. Kenya isn’t big on Halloween and the weather is too beautiful and perfect to feel like Fall but I can still watch and read Fall/Halloween themed stuff so that’s what I’ll be doing in the month of October. I look forward to having a chill month. Do leave recommendations for any Halloween movies or books you enjoy. I’m always looking for new ones.

What did you think of this Michele Ruiz quote? Do you like Fall? How are you preparing for Halloween season? What are you favourite Halloween/Fall themed movies? What are you plans for October? How was your week last week? Anything going on with you recently? Anything new happening this week? What are you plans for this week? Let me know in the comments below because I would absolutely love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!

  1. Pretty much did all my October’y stuff with the Pumpkin Fest 😀
Now I’m just going to read….

    1. Haha that’s fair, at least you had a good time. Have fun reading.

        1. My pleasure 🙂

  2. The quote sums up my desire, to escape people.

    1. Thanks and I’ve been trying to escape some people too which is why I wanted to share this quote.

      1. I hope you are able.

        1. I hope you are too.

  3. October the 13 is when my mom was born, it was on a Friday, just like it is this year. I am going to celebrate it loud and proud by going to a concert. Super excited about it actually! Oregon has lots of seasonal decorations and events, I put 2 or 3 on my calendar, we’ll see how many I can do.
As for books and movies I don’t know anything except all time classics. I would like to watch the ones made in Oregon, I didn’t know there are so many, check them out Pooj, I hope you like them.

    1. Oh nice, happy birthday to her from me in advance. Have a fun time and I’ll definitely check those out. So cool that so many were made in Oregon.

    2. Omg Twilight was partly made in Oregon?? So cool, I didn’t know that.

      1. It’s crazy, isn’t it?

  4. I enjoyed it, Pooja! Thanks for always sharing fantastic writing😊🥰💟👏💯

    1. Always a pleasure! 😊

  5. Halloween or Samhain not big in Australia, and it is spring here. We have a spring racing carnival which is big for food and fashion.
I didn’t mind Twilight in that I liked True Blood…. both seemed very akin to the Mark Rein-Hagan IP which he took from White Wolf publishing into Underworld.

    1. Oh yeah, the seasons are different in the Southern hemisphere. Those sort of movies can be entertainment sometimes.

      1. Really weird weather here the last week. Turned cold again. I really don’t feel like going out. Would be good if I could send Thomas to the supermarket with a saddlebag

        1. Yeah, it’s annoying going out in cold weather but it has to be done.

  6. Firstly, have we ever met or seen a vampire that wasn’t hot? I mean… 👀

I’ve been thinking about watching the Twilight movies again recently. IDK why I felt that but I’d be willing to.

Recently, I’ve been decorating and baking. We are doing some fun stuff coming up this weekend! Pumpkin patches and such. I already did my boo baskets and bought Halloween candy! 😊

    1. The original Dracula is not for me lol 😜

This is your sign to rewatch Twilight! Idk why but I really wanted to rewatch them this year too so I did haha.

      Oh fun, that sounds great!

      1. Ok you got me on the OG lol but for it’s time, i think it was a little som-some lol

        1. Lol true, back then he was probably all the rage 😅

  7. I like the quote. For the next two weeks, I’m staying in and not doing much. I’m blogging and reading. That’s it. My son and his bride are driving down for a visit. She’s undergoing chemo and they asked us to quarantine. So, I’m looking at this time as a mini staycation.

    1. Oh I see, good luck to her. I know it’s tough but I really hope and pray she recovers fully.

        1. My pleasure!

  8. Love the quote.
My favorite Halloween movie is Hocus Pocus.
Last day of a 3 day weekend for Thanksgiving. Full of turkey and back to work tomorrow, lol.
Mid October I put my snow tires on my car and complete the winterizing around the house.

    1. Thanks. I love Hocus Pocus too. I watch it most years but wanted to try something new this year. Haha, glad you ate well during Thanksgiving.
Ah yes, winter will be here before you know it.

  9. I love that quote! I’m recovering from double eye surgery so my reading is going to be limited this fall. I rarely watch tv, but I hope to catch up on some recommended shows.

    1. Oh I see, hope you’re recovering well. And hope you enjoy the shows. It may be a nice change for a bit till you’re well recovered.

  10. You have asked too many questions in the end

I wonder which one to answer 😂

I will try to be more productive in October.

    1. Lol, you can just answer the ones you like 😅 Hope you have a very productive October 😊

      1. Yes trying

        I think I need counsellor
I have too many doubts about what to do
        I’m overwhelmed

        1. Counselling or therapy always helps when overwhelmed 😊

          1. Yes
I guess I need some sessions

            1. If you feel like you would benefit from them I don’t see any harm in doing one or two sessions and seeing if it helps.

              1. Thanks!
                I will soon 🙂

                1. Great, I hope it helps!

  11. I decorated for Halloween this week. I ordered Ray and I matching Halloween costumes. I am doing well. Yay for Twilight!

    1. Oh fun, do share the costumes I’d love to see what you guys decided to dress as.

  12. Love the quote, must use it.

    1. Thanks, glad you loved the quote. It’s new to me but it’s one I connected with as soon as I read it.

  13. I absolutely love “Night on Bald Mountain!!!” It’s a classical piece by Mussorgsky. I’ve played this in orchestra and it’s awesome! You’ll recognize it from many scary movies. The music is just amazing! It definitely sounds scary until the very end, where you can just picture the dawn coming. Fantastic!

    1. Ooh, will definitely check it out! Sounds interesting!

      1. It’s my favorite scary piece!!!

  14. Great quote by an accomplished woman! 👏🏻 Enjoy your books and movies. 📚🧛🏻👻

    1. Thank you, I sure will haha! 👻😅

  15. I mean, if you’re going to skip a Twilight book, New Moon’s probably the one to skip.

    1. Lol, exactly. New Moon is one I just don’t connect with as much.

    1. A lot of people will doubt us but we shouldn’t take such people seriously!

  16. great quote, Pooja

(the twilight saga never seems to lose its charm… says a friend too😋)

    1. Thank you. Haha agreed, Twilight is always a fun read 😊

      1. always welcome 🤍

  17. I like the quote! It’s very relatable. Enjoy the fall season Pooja. 🥰👻

    1. Thanks, so glad you enjoyed it 😊

      1. You’re welcome 😉

  18. I like.that quite. Gonna apply it starting today with some people. 😜👏👏
I watch one scary movie everyday this month. Usually the old ones..Pet Cemetery… Nightmare on Elm Street… Thinner… I have that nostalgic energy.
    💙👏

    1. Absolutely, do that as I think people like that just hold us back with their doubts.
Oh nice, I’ve been doing that too. So fun 😃👻🎃

  19. very inspiring quote

    1. Glad you enjoyed it.

  20. Personally I don’t go for the vampire stuff and I hate the Autumn. Autumn feels like a dropping out of Summer into Winter. It’s dank, wet and getting cold. Winter is cold cold cold. I’m a Summer person. Give me warmth. I’m already looking forward to Spring. I want the inbetween to disappear. Love the quote. Just do it!! As Jerry Rubin used to say.

    1. To each their own, I totally get that. A lot of people prefer the warmer seasons.
      Thanks and I agree!

  21. Hi Pooj, I’m glad that you have nice weather there, I am in Michigan and it’s waaay too cold here for this Vegas man! Enjoy the warm weather. 🥰

    1. Thanks. Haha I know what you mean, it gets very cold very fast up north! 🥶

      1. 🥰🥰

  22. I love the quote, Pooja. I love Halloween because IMO, it is the beginning of the festive season. We don’t watch Halloween movies but we put up a few decorations. 🎃

    1. Thanks so much. True, it ushers in the holiday season. Decorating sounds very fun. We don’t do that here but I did when I was living in Canada.

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja.

  23. I do love the quote.

Also, sounds like a bit of procrastination mixed in with self care. Not a bad thing, I don’t think. Take care of you, Pooja!

    1. That’s exactly it. I’ve had a tough month in September so trying to take it easy this month. A bit of procrastination doesn’t hurt anyone. Thanks!

  24. i definitely agree with the quote, just keep going far and theit voices will fade out. I’m somewhat of a fall person, its a colorful sight, but not so much of a fan of colder weather. But thats Canada’s weather for you, i’ll survive it again haha

    1. Absolutely, ignore the haters and keep going. Haha yes, as beautiful as it is it’s also annoying that it brings the cold weather with it.

  25. I like the Ruiz quotation. Move forward so you can’t hear the naysayers; I think we can be assured they aren’t moving forward.

I’m happy you like fall and Hallowe’en. Me, too. Once I lived in California where there are two seasons, green and brown. I still enjoyed the season and the day.

I like Hallowe’en for the imagination and, frankly, the good fear it engenders. I enjoy the movies, though not slashing for slasher’s sake. I like the older films (before my time) that engendered the newer ones. By older, I mean black and white. But I also appreciate John Carpenter’s films, even though they are bloody.

Do you have a favorite Hallowe’en trick-or-treat type treat?

    1. Absolutely, the naysayers want us to be stuck like them. The best way to get rid of them is to keep moving forward.

Fall is fun. We don’t have it in Kenya so I know the feeling of only two seasons.

Yeah, the movies that have unnecessary gore is not my cup of tea either. But I do enjoy the more creative movies. Recently I watched Totally Killer which was better than I expected and had a very unique plot.

I don’t think I have a favourite but I do like to eat a bunch of chocolate (any will do lol). What’s your favourite?

      1. Lately, I’ve been enjoying fun-sized Snickers bars. An easy mouthful of chocolate, peanuts, and caramel. It’s what I’ve gotten for trick-or-trating for my neighbors, because I know I’ll enjoy any leftovers. Yes, chocolate, good.

        1. Oh yes, Snickers bars are so delicious. I ate them all the time growing up.

    1. Thanks ☺

  26. I love the quote. Let naysayers be in the rearview mirror.

    1. Thanks so much. Yes, exactly. Never take them too seriously.

  27. That quote is everything!!!!

    1. Glad you enjoyed it!

  28. love fall, hate halloween…I seriously think all kids should go to boarding school year round until they turn at least 20, and maybe even then for a while longer…….and yeah, though, when my wife says she doesn’t think I can or should do something, she’s usually right….there were those red pants with matching shirt that she said I’d never wear, she was right….probably why I married her…

    1. Haha that’s fair. It’s probably a lot more annoying with the kids all crazy with all the sugar. Luckily they don’t do that in Kenya so it’s more just fun parties for adults lol.

  29. I fully subscribe to that philosophy.

    1. Same here, leave the haters and naysayers behind.

  30. I love seeing scary movies, especially during this time. I love the quote. Hope that you have a good October.

    1. Same here. And thanks so much, have a good October too.

  31. I love the quote! It’s so empowering, thank you for posting it. I am enjoying fall, though it is getting cooler now, and the light fades so early now. I’m not big on Hallowe’en though I enjoy seeing kids come to the door trick-or-treating in their costumes. Hallowe’en often marks our first snowfall of the season. 🥶

    1. Thanks so much. I’m glad you’re enjoying Fall. I remember the last time I was in Canada there was a huge storm during Halloween. Sort of fitting but it was sad the kids couldn’t trick-or-treat.

      1. Oh yeah in 2019 we had a terrible snowstorm in October with wet, heavy snow. The leaves were still on the trees so the snow collected on them and weighed them down so much that many trees broke. 110+ year old trees. It was tragic.

        1. Wow, that’s so sad. Yeah, I remember about that I was in Canada at the time and I think winter started earlier than usual that year too.

  32. Exactly. Great quote. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.

    1. Thank you so much and have a great day too.

  33. Love him and the quote and mostly you enjoying reading and ready for all the fun of the season Pooja!! 💕🎃🎃🎃👻👻👻

    1. Thank you so much and yes this is probably one of the most fun months for me! 😊
