What’s Up With Me:

I decided to share this Rachel Macy Stafford quote because I spent a lot of last week being kind to myself. As you must know if you read my blog, I have been sick with the flu recently. And although I am recovering I have lost my sense of smell which seriously sucks. I feel like it’s a sense we really take for granted and don’t realise its importance till it’s gone. Like food doesn’t taste as good when you can’t smell it and nothing feels as great without smell. But I’m staying positive that it’ll come back when I fully recover. Pray for me, y’all. Or send some positive energy if you’re not someone who prays. Thanks!

That’s pretty much it from me. I haven’t been up to much because I don’t want to go out and spread this flu to other people. It’s bad enough I already gave it to my sister but that was inevitable lol. But apparently most of Nairobi is sick anyway. One or two of the schools in my area even shut down as everyone was sick and no one was attending the classes. It’s been crazy y’all.

So, now tell me, what’s going on with you? How have you been recently? Did you miss my regular posts? What is new with you? What are you plans for the coming week? Let me know in the comments section located below because I would love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!

  1. I do not love or live life for today but instead for the future that awaits.

“Words have no power to impress the mind without the exquisite horror of their reality”. ~Edgar Allen Poe ~

    1. That quote holds so much truth. I love how brutally honest Poe was.

  2. I hope you feel better soon my friend. Love and prayers your way.

    1. Thanks so much, really appreciate that.

      1. You’re most welcome

  3. Pooja, it sounds like have/had Covid since you’ve lost your sense of smell. That is what happened to me when I had it but that sense has since returned. Maybe you should have a test for the virus if one is available. 😮

    1. I was thinking this, and the way that it’s spreading as well; could be COVID.

      1. I hope that Pooja Spokane the virus! 🤙🏻☺️🙏🏻

    2. I thought it may be covid too and checked with those test at home kits but it was negative and apparently the flu can take away your sense of smell to so I don’t know. It could still be Covid though since the tests aren’t always accurate so I’m avoiding everyone for two weeks 😫

      1. That sounds lonely! My dad was in the hospital again recently, we tested ourselves and all were negative. Be safe. ❤️

        1. It’s not too bad, I like my own company these days. Glad you’re all negative, stay safe too ❤️

          1. I prefer my own company too. Three divorces may have something to do with that!

            1. Lol, that’s fair! To be honest, marriage is really not for everyone, like I just know it’s not for me 🤷🏻‍♀️

              1. I’m glad that you recognize this, Pooja, you will save yourself years of agony and tons of suffering.

                1. Yeah, I’ve seen enough marriages fall apart to not want to be a part of that.

                  1. 🤙🏻❤️

  4. I hope you get to feeling better soon, Pooja. The flu and COVID have really spiked in my area of late. Be careful out there. Stay safe and bundled up, hydrated, and get plenty of rest! 🙏🏾💙

    1. Thank you! Yeah, with the weather changing everything is going around but hopefully it’ll pass soon 😊

  5. Sending you positive vibes, Pooja! Being kind to ourselves is important, for ourselves, others and the world, so I’m glad to read that you’ve been focusing on that. As for me, I had a nasty flu with a cough that lasted about three weeks, and really dragged me down. Feels like I’m still recovering fitness almost six weeks later. The quote is a great reminder to be kind to oneself, but also to focus on today. That latter part can be hard! LOL

    1. Thanks so much! Oh no, glad you’re recovering though. Lol yes, harder to say we want to focus on today than to do it but we keep trying!

      1. My pleasure, and thanks! Meditation really helps with staying in the now, I find.

        1. True, meditation has helped me with my anxiety too.

  6. Yes be kind to yourself

Clearly you weren’t much kind with RG 🤧

Take care. Wear clothes, don’t avoid bath and eat healthy.

    1. Lol, thanks so much! 😅

  7. not being able to smell or taste is not good. I’ve a friend who was hit by someone on a mountain bike years ago….knocked unconscious, in a coma, when she did come to and recover, no sense of balance, and no longer to taste or smell anything. after a lot of work got the balance again, but still no taste or smell…..as far as eating she can just sense textures…..cooking, eating out, nothing…..it’s hard to imagine right?

    1. That honestly sounds so awful. I’m glad I didn’t lose my sense of taste because that would have been truly awful. It must be so difficult for her. Really can’t even imagine it.

  8. 🙂 Get well soon, Pooja.

I hope that you are getting lots of rest along with vitamin C.

    1. Thanks so much and yes vitamin C helps so much 🙂

  9. It sounds like covid, I hope you get over it soon. This week is Thanksgiving break, people are so excited about getting together with family and eating all the best foods. For those who don’t eat turkey there is tofurky as an alternative. I’m not celebrating it yet there’s no school, so I guess it is the reason to celebrate after all. There are always tons of things to be grateful for so will try to write them all down.

    1. Thanks so much. If nothing else at least you get a little break and have some time to relax. Have a good time.

  10. Prayers are coming your way! 🙏

    1. Very much appreciate it! 😊

  11. Feel better Pooja. Get plenty of rest & stay hydrated. 💞

    1. Thanks so much 😊💕

      1. You’re most welcome. 🤗

  12. Feel better Pooja and I’ve missed your post!

    1. Thank you so much!

  13. Praying that you will feel better soon, back to full health with no lingering flu symptoms and that your smell will return 100%! 🙏🏼 Do whatever you can that will continue to help you feel better. 🥺 It seems like lots of germs are spreading around again in many areas.

    1. Thank you so much 😊 Yeah, it’s the weather I think that makes it easy to get sick. Hopefully we’ll be over it soon 💕

  14. Pooja, don’t worry. You will get better soon. You have written a beautiful quote, and thank you for sharing your thoughts like this 😊🥰🤗👌👌

    1. Thank you so much, really appreciate that! 😊

      1. My pleasure😊🥰🤗🤗🤗🙏

  15. Good quote!! Get better soon!!

    1. Thanks so much!

  16. Nice quote.

No smell sounds like Covid. Hope you get your sense of smell back soon.

The last 3 days I have been replacing the water pipes in my house. It really makes you appreciate water. Just a few holes to patch in the walls, a dump run, then final cleanup. Glad I am on vacation, lol.

    1. Thanks so much.

Covid test was negative but they’re not always accurate. I’ve just been isolating anyway just because I don’t want to spread it to anyone else.

Wow, yeah good thing you’re on vacation lol. Hopefully you’ll be able to replace all the pipes.

  17. Sending you positive vibes for a speedy recovery!

    1. Thank you so much!

  18. I was wondering why your output had dried up so drastically. That certainly explains it.
Thanksgiving is this thursday, so I just have to work Mon-Wed this week. I’m really looking forward to a 4day weekend 😀

    1. Yeah, I’ve just been focusing on recovering. Oh nice, enjoy the long weekend 😄

  19. I hope the healing increases. I don’t like when my friends are down or ill. I do miss seeing your notifications and imagine it annoys you to not be as productive as previously. I’m still a grumpy, melancholy old man, lol, and working on filling the last few pages for the upcoming book.

    1. Thanks so much. A lot of people tell me I have the personality of a grumpy, melancholy old man so I can relate lol.

      1. But still a sweet lady.

        1. The majority of the time, yes, lol.

          1. Well, it all balances out, lol.

            1. Exactly, haha.

  20. Pooja, I hope you get better soon. 💕 All is status quo in my life and we are preparing for Thanksgiving. That’s a great quote and I agree we should be kind to ourselves. Sending positive vibes, my friend.

    1. Thanks so much, thankfully I’m much better now. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving 😊

      1. You’re most welcome, Pooja, and thank you. 😊

        1. You’re very welcome too 😊

  21. I hope you’re starting to feel better! My whole family caught COVID last week, but I somehow avoided it. I must have the immune system of a God. I think regularly eating chicken that’s been sitting out overnight introduces enough bacteria to my body to keep my immune system on its toes. 😜

    1. Yes, I’m so much better now! Wow, that’s so crazy. You seriously have the best immunity 🤯

  22. That’s a good, apt quotation. I’m glad you’ve been easy on yourself, especially considering the flu. I decided I have a cold, because I haven’t had my flu shot yet. Otherwise, I’ve been pretty much the same. Another day, another blood test (really, today or tomorrow). It’s always good to hear from you. Keep taking care.

    1. Thanks so much. Sorry to hear that. I hate blood tests and I’m going to have to get one soon too. Hopefully, everything goes well with yours/went well.

  23. So glad you are feeling better! Yay! This week we are preparing for Thanksgiving, which is Thursday. We are also packing, organizing and getting ready to move on Saturday. Money is tight and things are scary, but it will be awesome!

    1. Thank you! Wow, that’s a lot but I know it’ll all work out great!

  24. Glad you’re feeling better. Being sick is no fun.

    1. No it’s not, I’m so happy to be on the mend.

  25. Sending you a virtual hug 🤗 and tons of positive vibes! Dealing with the flu is no fun, and I can totally imagine the challenge of losing your sense of smell. Your resilience and positivity are seriously inspiring! 🌟 Wishing you the speediest recovery, and may your sense of smell return in a sniff! Take all the time you need to rest and heal. 🌈 Sending loads of healing energy your way! 💕

    1. Thanks so much, really appreciate that! 😊🤗

  26. Love that quote! So sorry to hear you have been sick but hopefully better on Thanksgiving.

    1. Thanks so much! Yeah, I think I should be fine in a day or two 😊

  27. Hope you’re feeling better Pooja! Hugs, C

    1. I’m recovering, thanks!

Hope you feel better soon. Time of year lots of stuff going around.

    1. Thanks so much. Yeah, I think it’s the changes in weather and everyone being sick. I’m recovering which is great.

  29. Great reminder 👌

    1. Thanks so much 💕

      1. With much love 🤗

  30. Love the quote Pooja! So sorry you aren’t feeling well!!! Meeeee either!! It socks! Prayers to both of us!! ❤️

    1. Thanks so much and praying for both of us too, hopefully we’ll recover soon! ❤️

      1. You’re so welcome always Pooja!! Amen and thank you!!! 💕❤️💕❤️💕🙏

        1. 💕❤️🙏

  31. Loving the positivity of this quote and sending healing vibes your way! 🧡

  32. Love this quote!

    1. So happy to hear that!

  33. I hope you are feeling better Pooja.

    1. I’m much better now, thanks.

  34. When I had COVID, I lost my sense of smell and taste. No food tasted good.

    1. Yeah, it really sucks.

  35. Sorry you have been sick. Praying for new strength for you.
Being kind to others is easier when we are kind to ourselves and take care of ourselves

    1. Thank you, it’s definitely harder to be kind to ourselves but I’ve been trying to take it easy and rest more.

  36. Something we all need to do more of – love ourselves ❤️ Prayers for a fast recovery!!!

    1. Thanks, I’m okay now!
