A Witchy Tale

She was walking down the street

When she heard someone yell

“What a treat”

Such a rude thing to tell

Someone just trying to live

For a moment her face went white

And her fingers clutched her sleeve

She was not a happy sight

But suddenly she turned and smiled

Because now she had a new name to add

To the list she had compiled

And just like that she was no longer mad

A Witchy Tale

About “A Witchy Tale”:

This poem is a response to fellow blogger, Kevin’s, No Theme Thursday prompt post for this week. I share these a lot because I really like his prompt images, they’re fun to use and leaves a lot of room to be creative. So do check out his NTT post for the week and share your responses too. Or just check out his blog for fun, he has lots of great posts on there.

So, what is this poem, A Witchy Tale, about? Just about how annoying catcalls are and also that sometimes you mess with the wrong person and earn an eternal lesson lol. I just found this image so fun, I knew I wanted to use it for a poem. And I felt like she was writing something important down.

Did you enjoy my response to this week’s prompt? What do you see when you look at that image? Let me know in the comments below because I would absolutely love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!

  10. At times during our peregrination we learn that baby-steps oft work the best for us and help us remain upright and moving forwardly having discovered that the greatest fight is won within ourselves and most oft… alone. We all need our personal “North-star” to reflect how far we’ve come and to where we must bear our heading. Safe travels dear friend.

    1. You’re absolutely right, baby-steps are much more realistic and slowly we can achieve bigger goals. Thanks so much.

  11. Has ever happened with you that someone complimented you and you felt awkward??

Although it’s hard to resist. 😅

    Loved this

    This remind of any anime.
DEATH NOTE, where person had a death note and he can write the name of person and that person will die. 😅

    1. Yes, some compliments aren’t real compliments and some are just weird/creepy lol.

Ooh interesting, wish I had one of those notes.

      1. It’s a dangerous thing for someone like you.

Many a times you are not in good mood, and then you’ll be writing a lot of stuff in that.

        1. It’s not even my mood, I just feel some compliments are genuine but some are backhanded and some are so creepy. I’d rather avoid that lol.

          1. The best compliment and the worst one?

            1. Can’t remember either to be honest lol.

  12. Love your take on the prompt, Pooja! Have a good weekend! 😍

  15. She looks confident. She has her brew; she has her writing instrument. Setting down a spell, yes, I think that’s it. And your take on catcalls is just right. Good, creative work, all of you. (Mostly you.)

      1. Me, too. She looks as if she’s searching and is about to catch it.

Cat calls are rude. Of course poem is not reality and it is known that the Rede does not allow for harm to be done…though one can protect oneself. …short form … an it harm none, then do as thou wilt…Googled 🙂
