Hand in hand
We walked down the street
That’s how it all started
We promised each other
We would hold on forever
And live our life together
Till death do us part
We promised in front of friends and family
Arm in arm
We walk down the street
Together forever
Holding one another tight
Just as we had promised
All those years ago

About “Forever”:
This poem is a response to fellow blogger, Kevin’s, No Theme Thursday prompt post for this week. He has awesome NTT prompts every week, do check out his blog for more.

I’m not really a fan of love or marriage. I don’t think I believe in soulmates. But when I saw these images on Kevin’s No Theme Thursday post this week, I thought they would work so well together. Like most of the poems I share as a response to prompts, this one was mostly just for fun. Me sharpening my writing knife I guess.
Oh and I do believe that people find each other and work well together, but I don’t think you magically find “the one.” I think you find someone well suited for you but not perfect because no one is perfect. But that’s just my opinion, don’t come for me lol.
Do you believe in soul mates? Do believe in true love and marriage? Did you enjoy my poem? Let me know in the comments below because I would absolutely love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!
