Quote Of The Day

Roy T. Bennett Quote:

Roy T. Bennett Quote

What’s Up With Pooj?

Thank you for all the good vibes you guys sent, I’m happy to report that my writer’s block is doing much better now. It’s still not a hundred percent gone but it’s much better than last week. I’m also feeling generally better today. For the last two or three weeks I had just been feeling so exhausted no matter what but this week I feel a little more refreshed.

Last week was sort of a dull week because I didn’t really do much. I mostly worked and took naps. But I did go out on Saturday with my cousin brothers for ice cream and to do some shopping which was fun. I got some really great, affordable press on nails which I’m excited to try out. They were only around 400 ksh (which is equivalent to $3) and they are so minimalistic and so pretty.

And about the quote, I really enjoyed this Roy T. Bennett quote. I have a tendency of making myself miserable for no reason. And I’m a grudge holder. This is a reminder to make more of an effort to let go of things from the past and make myself as happy as I can be.

  1. Great one!!
Good to know you had some fun last week by going out
    Good time.
    Best wishes

    1. Thank you so much!

  2. Funnily enough I used press-on nails last week. I’m still trying to get the last of the glue off, but they were pretty while they lasted and George-the-dachshund loved the extra oomph when I scratched his ears. 🙂

    1. Aww that’s so nice. Have you tried using castor oil? It gets rid of nail glue really well.

      1. Thanks for the tip! I’ll do that right now. 🙂

        1. Hope it works, it works really well with my nails.

  3. You are such a good Taurus (lol) 😉 and awesome quote! Love to you ~ <3

    1. Lol I know right- such a typical Taurus 😅 Love ya, sending hugs 🤗

  4. Very good quote, 100% agree

    1. Thanks so much.

  5. Glad your writer’s block is lifting and that you have been out and about again Pooja.
I think that by holding onto a grudge you are punishing yourself far more than the other person. Acknowledge it and let it go is my motto!💕📚

    1. Thanks so much! So true, that’s why I want to start letting go of things more 😊

  6. Excellent advice in that quote

    1. Absolutely agree.

  7. Your comment about holding grudges reminds me of this quote by Marianne Williamson: “Unforgiveness is like drinking poison yourself and waiting for the other person to die.” Hopefully, you will avoid such dire results.

    1. That is such a true quote, I love her vibe. I hope so, I’m learning to let go more and let things in the past remain in the past.

  8. glad your writers block has mostly gone Pooja! Cool you got the press on nails! I hope you enjoy waring them!

    1. Thanks so much, I hope so!

  9. So true, life is too short to waste in on negativity. Once we realise everything happens for a reason, then there’s no point to hold grudges and resentments. Glad that you’re doing better

    1. So true, that’s what I’ve been thinking too. And I also just want to live in the moment instead of getting stuck in the past.

  10. simply said but ever so wisely and so true…a wonderful quote shared, Pooja 🤍

    1. Thanks so much, glad you liked the quote 💕

      1. pleasure 🤍

  11. Wonderful read with nice quote. Thanks.

    1. Thanks so much.

  12. I liked the quote. A lot of truth in it.

Glad to hear your writer’s block is clearing.

    1. Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it.

  13. Hey Pooja, glad to hear your writers block is slowly improving. I must say, from reading your posts, I never would have known you had a case of it. So congrats on faking it until you make it 😀

As for that quote. Hmmmm. Well, I definitely agree with the first part. Except we’re going to experience those emotions no matter what. So don’t stay there, but don’t beat yourself up when you do experience them. It’s like falling down. It happens. We just have to get back up again.
As for that second part, I totally disagree. We are going to be unhappy in life. Not all the time, but happiness is a condition contingent on circumstances. If someone expects to be happy all the time, they are going to have a miserable life because their expectations will be broken every single day. Joy on the other hand, transcends how you feel or the circumstances you are in.

    1. Hey, thanks so much. Haha yes, faking it till I make it works in most cases. At least in my experience.

I totally get what you mean, you can’t be. happy all the time and negative emotions are a part of the human experience, For me, I interpret the quote as don’t dwell too much on the bad stuff, choose to let it go and find your happiness.

I love the quote; I must try harder. I can gt myself into a downward spiral sometimes.

    1. I’m the same way so I completely understand.

  15. What a great quote, and I love Roy T. Bennett quotes. I’ve never tried press on nails and used to go to a nail salon for acrylics, but it is terribly expensive so I stopped going. It took forever to get my natural nails back in decent shape.

I’m glad your writer’s block is slowly improving and I am sure you’ll be back with great ideas for writing.💗

    1. Thanks so much. I have the same issue with acrylics, it’s so expensive now it’s just not worth it. The press ons stay a few weeks so I just stick with those now.

      Thanks so much 😊

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja. 💅

  16. rue just between you and me

    eh?

    1. Lol ain’t that the truth

      1. hud wrote that sucker it s a hit.

  17. Completely true! How often do we hold onto things we should let go of for better mental health? Forgive, love, and move on! Glad your writer’s block has lifted!

    1. Exactly and thank you!

  18. I need to try out press-on nails for sure!

    1. For sure, the good quality ones are so worth it!

  19. I’ve saved so many lives because I waited too long to settle grudges. Most of my teachers are dead now. My parents are dead as well as their cohorts. It’s probably not cost effective to kill the rest. They are pretty dull and I don’t think I could make much of a mystery novel from an extermination of insects and vermin. Ordinary petty death is not much of a subject. Life is too short for a dictator to indulge in the emotions of the vulgar masses. Anger is best assigned to subordinates who eliminate threats. One’s best dream is to be a dictator of a country and to eliminate millions of opponents. This is the happiness dream of all children. As ridiculous as it is, a few will do it, and that is Armageddon. But I wish to be God just because I am so unloved.

    1. I think we all wish to be God sometimes.

  20. So true – no time for negativity!!
Glad to hear that your block has been demolished!! Write on!!

    1. Thank you!

  21. Hi Pooj! Yes, it’s a great quote. Of all those things I think resentment and holding grudges might be the worst as by letting those happen we are letting our perception of someone else’s attitude or actions dictate how we feel. Best to try and let things go, whether or not the offending person apologizes. Regrets just hold us back.

Good to know the writers’ block is lifting!

    1. I so agree with you, it’s best to let go and move on. If we hold on to resentments and grudges we just make ourselves miserable.

      Thanks!

      1. You’re welcome and yeah, right on!

  22. Glad you’re feeling better, Pooja. Great quote, as well.

    1. Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it.

  23. I totally agree.

    1. Glad to hear that.

  24. I love Leonard Cohen, he is depressing though… and nostalgic. The quote is exactly what I’m reading about this week, it’s the book about how to free yourself from chronic unhappiness. The mindful way thru depression is my latest eBay purchase, I highly recommend if anyone is interested. I’m still learning how to let go and move on, haven’t graduated yet, haha

    1. Yes, some of his songs are haunting yet beautiful. What’s the book called? I’d love to check it out.

      1. It’s The Mindful Way through Depression: Freeing yourself from chronic unhappiness. And there’s a workbook to go with it: The Mindful Way Workbook. It’s blue, I got both of them, they are pretty awesome actually.

        1. I’ll definitely check them out, thanks.

          1. You are welcome

  25. Glad to read you’re feeling better Pooja. Love your song share. 💓 A beautiful remake.

    1. Thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed it 😊

      1. You’re welcome, hope your week is going well. 🌻

        1. Hope yours is too 😊

          1. So far so good! 😊🙏🏻

  26. Glad to hear you’re doing better, Pooj. 😃

    1. Thanks so much 😊

  27. A TO THE AMAZING Quote Pooja. I like the words because indeed life is short to wrap yourself in anger, hate and grudge, just let go😍✨

Also, I am enjoying my life Pooja and to show that, here is a joke my friend, it has been a while since I shared a joke with you.

    Three Two One, ACTION!!

“Mom, why did you name my little sister ” Pooja” asks the Older girl

“Well, it is because Pooja is a woman who does not eat Pudding 🍚🍙🍠and I though just saying ” Pooja” would make her allergic to pudding, it turns out she is indeed allergic to Pudding and Desert🍨🍧

“Oh Mom, you are not fair, you named me ” Margo” , why since I love Pudding and not Mangoes, I hate you Mom who is now the “Mustard” Mum to me, haha😂😂😂😂😂

See why it is key to name your kids words that matter not some food items that they hate👏

    1. Lol that’s hilarious, thank you for sharing the joke 😅

      1. You’re welcome Pooja😂😂😂🙏

  28. NICE 💓💖💚

    Blessed and Happy afternoon 🌞

    Greetings pk 🌎

    1. Thank you so much ☺️

  29. I have to agree with that quote. It took me many years to get to a place in life where very little bothers me. But yeah, life is too short. That reality has taught me to just dust my shoulders off and keep moving.

    1. That is great Nigel brother. Let us live life to the fullest whilst we still have it🙏⭐

      1. Very true ,👏👏

    2. Same here, it’s taken me a while to let go of some grudges I was holding on to but it’s freeing when you do.

      1. Very liberating fuh real.

  31. So glad your writer’s block is lifted.

  32. Pooja, thank you for sharing the voice of Roy Bennett. Every day brings a new opportunity to move forward with a more positive outlook.

    1. Happy to do so and I think so too.

  33. That quote is one point, besides all that stuff makes you miserable.

    1. I very much agree, thanks.

  34. Here’s another quote I’ve said a thousand times!! Everyone needs to haer this one. 🤣😎🙃

    1. Agreed, everyone needs to hear this one!

  35. Wise quote. I think it’s dangerous (and easy) to let yourself get trapped in the past. Life is in the present, though.

    1. Very true, it’s best to focus on the present.
