I Refuse To Believe It’s Already August

I Refuse To Believe It's Already August

Yes, you heard me right. I refuse to believe it’s already August. I feel like it was just yesterday we were welcoming July. And now it’s already August?? I don’t know why but the older I get, the faster time seems to fly by. Is that just me or do others feel that way too? When I was a teenager, the months couldn’t go fast enough and now the year ends in the blink of an eye.

July was a very busy month for me. I published my very first book, All The Words I Kept Inside, a poetry book containing a hundred poems. If you’re interested in reading it, you can read it here. Everyone has been so supportive with this book and I have received a number of positive reviews which I am so grateful for. I couldn’t be more grateful for everyone that took the time to read the book. As a writer, I really don’t care about the money or fame (although I would complain about it if I did get rich and famous lol). My main priority is people reading my writing and connecting with it.

I also had a great month because we attended some weddings, celebrated some birthdays and did a little bit of exploring.

Overall, August has been a pretty busy but fun month. Lots of good things happened and of course some bad things too, but that’s life.

Anyway, have a great August, everyone!

How was your July? What are your plans for August? Let me know in the comments below or simply stop by and say hi!

  1. The more you do in life the slower time goes the less you do the faster time flies by. If you look back at July and you see all the things you did you would say time flew by slowly. If you did not nothing time flew by super fast.

    1. This makes sense looking back on how the year has gone for me personally. Good observation!

    2. I know what you mean and it makes a lot of sense. The fact that it was a busy month makes it fly by slowly.

  2. Yes, August kind of sneaked up on all of us. 🙂 However, I’m sure you can look back on the former months as times of accomplishment Pooja.

    1. It sure did but yes, the last few months have been fruitful.

  3. You are too young to notice how time seems to go faster as you age, Pooja! ❤️

    1. I’m getting older too fast! 😭

      1. You are young! ❤️😊

        1. Aw thanks 🥰

  4. July flew by real quick for me too, it was a good month, the only problem I have is the realization that the school year is a out to start, I’m so not ready… I need to start looking for a job or go back to my old one which is not an option, and I don’t even know where to look…

    1. Oh wow, that’s quite a scary decision but I know things will work out well for you.

      1. Thanks for saying that, I do hope so

        1. You’re very welcome.

  5. I think our memories get more cluttered and maybe worse as we get older and that makes it feel like time goes faster. I had amnesia once, and then you think the last 3 days lasted one second.

    1. That’s very true. Oh wow, that must have been a scary experience.

  6. IKR? Here in the States, we gave about a month before the Labor Day Holiday, traditionally marking the end of summer. What th…? The only advantage I can see of not still being a kid is not being dragged to “back to school” sales by my mom 😂

    1. Lol that’s true, I used to hate the back to school sales too. Did you used to have to get new shoes every year at those sales? That was the worst for me 😅

  7. I would be deeply honored if you could follow me and read my posts. Your invaluable suggestions are my greatest asset, uplifting my spirits and inspiring me to continue crafting more creative writing. Thank you for your unwavering support and guidance.

    1. I’ll check out your site, thanks for stopping by.

      1. “Thank you for the visit! I appreciate your support and look forward to any feedback you might have. Have a great day!”

  8. Quick as a blink! But this whole year has been that way 🙂

    1. Yes, very true. This year is going way too fast.

  9. We’re already closer to the end of the year, I can almost smell 2025, just 5 months away now.

    1. That’s so crazy, can’t believe 2024 is almost over.

  10. It was only yesterday we were welcoming July, wasn’t it? . . . Time only passes faster the older you get, Pooja. 😉💕📚

    1. July went so fast, haha true 😅💕

  11. Congratulations Pooja for publishing your first book.

    1. Thank you so much.

      1. You’re welcome Pooja.

  12. July flew right by. I refuse to believe that it’s my birthday soon. Like no,
I don’t want to get older.

That being said, I’m so over the hot temps we have had here and we are still experiencing a drought. All of July it didn’t rain at all. 😢

    1. Urghh yes, this year just went by too fast. But happy birthday month, if it helps you don’t look your age at all 😊

Oh yeah, I heard it’s patricianly hot this year which means winter will be pretty bad too.

  13. Exactly, can’t believe it’s already August. Time really does fly by as we get older. I swear, it was just New Year’s Eve and now we’re already halfway through the year! Huge congrats on publishing your poetry book, that’s amazing!
Wishing you an equally awesome August. 🙌🙏

    1. It’s so crazy how time flies these days. This year has gone by crazy fast. Thank you so much! ☺️

  14. I also used to think months are not passing by fast enough, but that was me before 2019. Since lockdown, I feel like time is really fleeting away, like I refuse to believe I’ll be graduating next year.
This is a scary thought lol but at the same time it makes us want to do more and work harder.

    1. It’s so weird, I think the lockdown changed how we look at time. Can’t believe it’s almost 2025. Scary but yeah, that’s how life goes.

  15. I feel life is going too fast too~in disbelief that the half year mark of this year is long gone. Ugh. But this heat wave is making me look forward to some autumn weather, which is unusual for me to say because summer is my favorite season.
    Congrats again on your book!!

    1. For real, can’t believe the year will be over soon. Oh yeah, I’ve heard summer heat is bad this year. Thanks!

  16. Ha..ha.. I know it but still want to refuse it. Lol. Thanks.

    1. Lol same here. Thanks so much.

  18. Hope you have a wonderful August too! Mine is off to a very busy start.

    1. Thank you so much! Mine is a bit busy right now too but I know the rest of August will be relaxed for me so I don’t mind.

  19. Time does seems to go faster as we grow older

    1. Yeah, it certainly feels that way.

  20. You are not alone in thinking time is flying by.

My Grandfather at 90 said a decade is like the snap of your fingers.

I have been busy looking for a new place to live, so July has passed by quickly for me too. I am just waiting on paper work to work through the system, which seems to be very slow because of short staffing due to vacations. Moving day will likely seem very short by contrast, lol.

    1. It’s so true, my grandmother who’s almost 100 says the same thing.

Fingers crossed you can move soon. And not get too sunburnt in the process. Moving in summer always freaks me out. We moved during the hottest weather a few years ago and I looked toasted for like two weeks lol.

      1. I am not moving until the end of the month, so our summer will be over by then or at least not as warm as it is now and the daylight will be much shorter.

        1. Oh okay, that’s good. At least you won’t have to worry about the weather.

  21. time like a river to the sea
    sands of too

  22. The days are flying by!!!!! Crazy butt I’m ready to throw up my Halloween decor. LOLOLOLOL

    1. They are, it’s so crazy people are buying Halloween costumes too! October will be here before we know it lol.

      1. I’m ready!!! LOL

  23. Staying darker longer as I sit on my balcony drinking my morning coffee, I refuse to believe it as well, good post Pooja!

    1. Thank you! I think we’re all a little in denial about how fast time has flown this year.

  24. You’re not alone in thinking time flies, Pooja. It seems the older we get the faster it goes!

    1. It really does feel like that!

  25. Ditto, Pooja! 😀 I had too had to do a double take and make sure it was actually ALREADY August! It sounds like you’ve had a lovely July. Me too, just back from amazing family wedding in the Scottish highlands and off to Sweden for a month next week. By the time I’m back in England next it will be September – and then Christmas!! Yikes! Congratulations on your book and all the wonderful reviews. It is on my list and I look forward to reading it! Happy August! 😀

    1. Oh wow, a busy time for you as well. Can’t believe the year will be ending soon. Just a few months left. Thank you so much, I really hope you enjoy the book when you read it!

  26. Haha, yes the time has flown, and August 2024 has arrived. The first day has even clocked-out and now it’s already the 2nd day in the month 😹😮. But I hope you have a great August Pooja 😄💙💙

    1. It’s so crazy that August is flying by too and it’s only been a day lol. Thanks so much and have a great one too 😊

      1. Exactly Pooja 😂, August looks like it’s going to be here then gone in no time too haha.

You are welcome and thank you my friend 🫶😄😄

        1. We’ll blink and it’ll be September 😆

          You’re very welcome too 😊

          1. “We’ll blink and it’ll be September 😆”

            YUP 💯😂🤭

            “You’re very welcome too 😊 ”

            cherished 💌🤗

  27. Time actually does speed up as you age. I’m aging, so I’m POSITIVE. 😉 Happy August, Pooja! And congrats on the publication!

    1. Haha it does, where does the time go?? Thanks so much!

      1. “Who knows where the time goes,” said Sandy Denny, shortly before leaving this earthly realm. Only she knows. 🙂 (Also famously covered by Judy Collins, but the original is below.)

        1. Very interesting, I’ll check it out! 🙂

  28. I know right! It feels really typical to say this but how is it August already??? How did we go from the start of 2024 do more than half of the month????? Like it’s SEPTEMBER next month 💀 Hope you had a lot of fun with the experience of publishing books and the weddings! Have a good august ❤️

    1. For real, it’s like 2024 was just starting yesterday and now it’s close to ending 😭 Thanks so much and have an awesome August too ❤️

  29. It’s not just you, the months are really flying by quickly. For this month I’m hoping to get back into my regular routines for exercising and blogging plus engaging in more of my hobbies.

    1. It does feel like time has been flying by recently. I hope you’re able to get back into it all.

      1. Fingers crossed!

  30. You certainly did have a busy July, Pooja–new book, wedding, writing, podcasts. All the best to you.

    1. Yes, very busy but lots of good memories made. Thanks and have a great month.

  31. The summer is dragging on for me, because I so want the heat to let up already! 🙂 That said, it’s not just you. In general, I blink and a year’s gone by.

    1. Oh I understand, I’ve never been a fan of very hot weather.

  32. You had a a fabulous July, Pooja. And I’m sure August will be great as well..the years usually gets more hectic for me as it heads toward Xmas. Not rushing it…but it seems to be rushing me 😂

    1. Thanks so much. This month will be more relaxed but hopefully just as fun. Lol yeah, life seems to rush us at the end of the year 😅

  33. My wife and I will be flying home to Toronto from a cycling trip in Europe tomorrow. When we left, summer seemed to be just getting started. When we return, it’s August.
I actually love August and the early months of autumn. Certain fruits and vegetables become available only at this time of year. The light is warmer. Evenings are cooler. I don’t mind it at all.
But, yes, I’m in my 60s now, and time is blowing past year after year. It takes my breath away sometimes.

    1. Oh nice, I hope you enjoyed your time in Europe. I’m with you, the end of summer/start of Autumn is always very nice.

  34. Same I can’t believe it’s August and I celebrated another year of my life! My July was so busy with exams and work but Alas! All good! It’s good to hear yours also went really well.

    1. It’s crazy how fast the time goes by! Glad you had a good month although busy and hope exams went well!

      1. I hope so too!!!!

  35. What I like about August is it mean Fall is comingn

    1. Oh yes, Fall is always such a great season.

  36. Pooja…you shouldn’t be reminding us of such things lol…😋
too fast it seems at times…
wish you an amazing August 🤍💫

    1. Hehe I couldn’t help it, you know I love to whine 😅 Thanks so much and have an amazing month too 😊

      1. we know 😂..and we love it lol…
pleasure and thank you too 🤗🤍

  37. Yes we are already on the downward run to the end of the year 🙂

    1. It seems so 🙂

  38. Hi Pooja! The year definitely has passed by very fast! This year has been nice! It was great getting to know each other through my interview! That was fun! I’ve also been spending plenty of time with my parents during the summer. I’ve been going out and taking walks with them often and going shopping and just bonding. It’s been great!

    1. It has passed by so fast, I’m in shock! The interview was definitely fun and glad you’re having a good summer!

  39. I agree Pooja the older I get the faster time flies by! I want it to slow down! I cant believe the year is half over already! I’m like, noooo!

  40. Time flies faster each year, Pooja, and I’m glad you had a good July. Congrats on your book, by the way, and I have my copy waiting to be read. But I’m behind on reading this year because of unexpected events. I look forward to reading your wonderful book soon!
    Happy August, too! xoxo

    1. Thanks so much, no rush. I know you’ve had a lot going on. I just hope you enjoy it when you read it 😊

      1. I know I will, no doubt, Pooja. I’m happy for you! 🥰🌺

        1. Thank you! 🙏😊

  41. I can’t believe it’s August either.. ugh.. how does it happen. I guess I could live on an eternal summer with sand beneath my toes even on those scorching days! Glad you’ve had so much fun!

    1. Haha yes, unfortunately summer always ends too fast! Thanks so much!

  42. Nice Thoughts. How do you motivate to write daily and post.

    1. Thank you. I try to take inspiration and turn blogging into a habit, once you post regularly for a month or two it gets much easier since you get used to it.

  43. It’s unbelievable, time is moving so rapidly!

    1. It is, it’s crazy!

  44. So, what are you going to dress up as this year for Halloween ~ LOLOL You better hurry it might sneak up on us (Muhahaha) !!! 😉

    1. Oh I’ve got my costume ready lol! I’m not taking any chances 😂

  45. I agree. Time does seem to fly by the older I become. Months come and go so quickly. I can remember when January was the longest month to leave, but now the months go by before we can settle into it. In five months it will be 2025, can you believe it? This year is flying by. July was busy for me concerning school and taking tests. It has been two years since I wrote my book, My Life: From the Back Burner which is under my pen name: La’Brea Aquaria, which is on Amazon. I received a promotion in my job last month I am going into training, and next year I will be enrolling at Dallas Theological Seminary. I am still working on my second book, My Life Moving Forward, and two others. July was a good month. I hope August will be too. Many blessings to everyone this month. Happy August!🌻

    1. Yes, it seems that way. Wow, a very busy month for you indeed. But in a good way. Wishing you the best for August!

  46. Time flies anymore. Glad you had a good July.

    1. Thanks so much. Have a great August.

  47. Believe it. It’s August and one of my favorite months of the year.

    1. That’s nice, have a great August!

  48. I don’t know why I want August to be over, I think about it every day, why? It doesn’t make sense…

    1. I do too but only because I’ve had an awful month. Maybe you’re ready for Fall?

      1. Maybe, I m ready for a new page

        1. Maybe so, I hope the new month brings you a lot of happiness when it arrives.

          1. Applying for jobs now, fingers crossed one of them is interested

            1. Fingers crossed, really hope you get some positive responses from the applications.

                1. You’re welcome.

  49. Can’t believe Aug is about to be over in a week

When did you publish your first book?
The date I’m asking (I obviously know about the book).

    Kids never cared for time
    Adults do
And it goes away like vroom 🤷🏻‍♂️

    1. On the 9th of July, it’s been more than a month already. True, when we were young we wanted time to go faster and now we want it to slow down.

      1. Ahhhh cool.
        Congratulations 👏🏻

        1. Thanks ☺️
