…In The Cold November Rain

In The Cold November Rain

I can’t believe it’s already November. And honestly, I’m relieved because as I’m sure most of you know, October has been a particularly difficult month for me. Between moving to a new place and my grandmother passing away, it’s been a tough month. With a lot of adjustments.

I thought I would be fully done unpacking and setting up my room by now but that hasn’t been possible. During the last few days, a lot of relatives of my grandmothers have come over to share their condolences so that has kept us busy. I was also hoping to get some writing done but there’s been no time for that either.

Mentally, I’ve been better. I was feeling really out of it for the last few days but I feel much better today. I woke up feeling more energetic and motivated. Since I had made so many plans for October and none of them worked out, I have refrained from making plans for November. Whatever happens will happen.

I want to thank everyone that left condolence messages on my last post, it’s so appreciated. I left a generic response as the amount of comments were high but know that I read every single comment and it warmed my heart.

Some Congratulations Are In Order

Lastly, I want to congratulate some fellow bloggers.

Cindy Georgakas. She announced that she will be releasing her second book in November and shared the cover today. It will be a poetry collection that is a companion guide to her debut book Re-Create & Celebrate.  Congratulations, Cindy!

Tremaine Loadholt from A Cornered Gurl, recently published her latest book Séduire: Serial Tales & Flash Fiction. I’m so excited to read it and I know it’s going to be really successful. She’s a wonderful writer and human being. Click here to view her blog and purchase the book. Congratulations, Tre!

I recently published my first book, if you would like to read it, please click here.

  1. Hi Pooja, I hope November is a much better month for you and brings you soo much joy and peace like no other. It’s really inspiring that you are able to post even with everything going on in your life❣️

      1. I have to take lots of photos in the next few days. Being frustrated with my light conditions at the moment so will most likely have to build a bigger light box i think due to shadows

        1. Oh no, sorry to hear that. Hope everything goes well and the photos come out great.

          1. I bought a giant ring light.. it made a big difference.. lol

            1. Oh yeah, those are great. I have a big ringlight too and two or three little ones.

              1. This one is about 16 in in diameter

  3. The time flies so fast these days. I can’t even remember that this year started and now we are nearing the end so quickly

    1. It really does, I can’t believe the year is almost over.

    1. Haha that’s the one good thing about marriage. Thanks so much 🙂

  5. Glad to hear you are feeling better. I have a new rule for moving. However long you think it will take, multiply it by 10, then throw out that number because it won’t even be close, then just take it one day at a time. 😀

    1. Thank you so much. Haha that’s the absolute truth. I doubt we’ll be fully done unpacking till the end of the year 😅

    1. Yeah, for us cold is like slightly colder than our usual weather. Thanks and have a great November too! Oh that’s great, let me know if they become available digitally.

  19. I agree, PJ. How is it November already? Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I’m sorry to hear about the passing of your grandmother and the challenges October has wrought upon your doorstep. Congratulations on publishing your book! I love the title.

Yes, do check out Cindy’s book cover reveal. I’m so happy it’s finally happening for her!

      1. I did… Happy for her as well..I will try to keep it alive on my blog when I do post..it’s the least I can do. 🙏

    1. It seems everyone I know wants the Lions to win the game haha. Thanks.

  22. Good to hear you. I still hurt a bit over my mother’s death. I was so angry at her for her last few years. She understood but I was so angry that she just expected me to accept it and live a demotion. That wasn’t actually what she expected or even what she saw… I didn’t know time was limited. She had been abandoned the same as I had been. We do keep going though. It is important to keep going and poetry is one of the most powerful spiritual tools we ever can have.

    1. Sorry about your mother’s passing and the complicated relationship you had with her. It’s never easy to lose someone you love especially when you don’t see eye to eye before their death.

  23. Welcome November 🌿🙏🙋‍♂️

    1. Happy November 😊

  24. Wishing you a peaceful November, Pooja. 💗

    1. Thank you so much ☺️

  25. My condolences, Pooja. It’s great to have you back on WP.

    1. Thank you so much.

  26. May the Force be with you this November….and always.

    1. Thank you so much 😊

      1. You’re quite welcome, my friend.

  27. Oh! I am very sorry that I missed your post about your grandmother, Pooja. I think there is a quote from the book “The Art of Racing in the Rain” which basically says that a person only passes away when they have completed what they were meant to do here.” That has always brought me comfort. You have been through a lot last month and I wish the very best for you.

    1. Thank you so much. I really like that quote and I think it sums up her death very well. I think she was very much ready to move on.

  28. No plans. Oh, that sounds like a wonderful idea. I think I could use some “no plans” blogging for a bit. But totally planned out. Nothing like planning out your unplanned stuff.
Hahahaha 😀 Ahhh, being organized certainly has its downsides….

    1. Lol I’m the same and love to plan but this month is just me trying to be more laid back. The keyword of course is trying haha.

      1. Good for you. I hope you can do it too….

  29. stay strong

    1. Thank you.

  30. Glad you’re feeling a bit better, Pooja. I love your idea of taking it as it comes this month. Very wise to be gentle with yourself for a bit. <3

    1. Thank you so much. Yeah, I think both psychically and mentally I just really need a break and want to have a less chaotic month.

  31. Now you’ve put that song in my head & it’s raining 🙂 !!! Hope you get a chillax day ~ <3

    1. Haha it’s been stuck in my head all day too. Yeah, I had a pretty chill day. Thanks and hope you had a great day!

  32. I hope November brings more joy and calm, Pooja! 💞

    1. Thank you so much! ☺️💕

      1. You’re so welcome, Pooja. You deserve to exhale. Hugs!

  33. I’m glad you’re looking forward to November, Pooja as you have had a LOT on your plate. Losing a loved one and a move is one of the biggest stessers so if you could survive that, you’re doing well.
Thank you so very much for the shout out of my book and trE all the best as well. So exciting and you are such an amazing support which I greatly appreciate💕🙏🏼💕!

    1. Thank you so much! ☺️

  34. Christmas on the horizon Pooja. Hope you are planning a good holiday to recover from this year.

    1. Haha yes, I think I have to do just that.

  35. I don’t know if cold November rain is normal where you are. It would be here, though November First was hot and dry. I’m sorry October was so difficult. It would be with the death of your grandmother. I’m sorry about that and hope you’re doing all right. Actually, I’m glad to hear you’re feeling more energized. Dealing with people is often draining to me and nearly always in a situation of loss, even if the people to deal with are family. Maybe things will pick up now and stay that way. I appreciate your sharing the good news of other writers and their books. I trust you will resume book-writing.

    1. Yeah, it’s actually very hot in November here. October was definitely overwhelming but I’m finally feeling a little better. I’m back to writing again which I love.

  36. So happy you are feeling a bit better Pooja. Good luck with your new home!

    1. Thanks so much!

  37. Love to you, Sweetie.

    1. Thanks so much, very much appreciated.

  38. Glad you are doing better mentally 🙏 sometimes just going with the flow and not making concrete plans ends up being the best thing overall

    1. Thanks so much, yeah I think that’s honestly the best for now.

  39. Sorry for the loss. May you and your family receive loads of Love and Warmth. Hope this month brings you luxury and happiness. Keep Smiling 🙂

    1. Thank you. Yeah, I have more time this month which I’m grateful for.

  42. A warm hug 🤗

    Take care!

    1. Thanks so much! 🤗

  43. Touching blog post Pooja. My sister, I am very sorry for your loss😭 and I am going to support you as your online Brother here💖.

Also, I am sorry October was hard for you, that is life, it is harsh and unforgiving at times. I hope you will not lose faith in the life you still are going to live. May God give you strength, I too did not get to achieve some October goals but luckily, I am Alive💖, I am grateful to God for that. Truthfully, 2024 was a lukewarm and hard year for most of us Bloggers.

Lastly, November will be kind to you, bad days don’t last, trust me. God is in control either way

    1. Thanks so much 💕
