I’m Ill (Not In The Good Way)

I’m sure some of you may be curious about why I haven’t been posting lately especially because of my last posts was much more emotionally charged. However, don’t worry too much. A lot has been happening in my life since that post was written, a lot of truths came out and I am working on processing everything. But that’s now why I have not been posting. The reason for it is that I’m ill at the moment. And not in the cool way rappers say it. I’m actually quite ill and for the last few days have been feeling so out of it.

I always promised myself that I would never force myself to post if I was not feeling up to it. Because I never want blogging to become a chore but rather something I do that I love. So, I listened to my body and took some time off from blogging.

And boy was I just so happy to come back and see that WordPress has made even more useless changes to the stats page and Reader. Said no one ever. Is the person making these changes okay or are they just doing it for attention at this point? May I ask what was wrong with the way things were? I don’t understand what the point of changing things that were perfectly acceptable is.

If someone from WordPress is reading this (probably not): PLEASE STOP!! We love this platform exactly as it is, please stop ruining it for us!

  1. I don’t like the recent changes either. I don’t why they changed it. I am so sorry that you are not feeling well and I hope it get better soon.

    1. Yeah, the changes feel so unnecessary. Especially getting rid of the search option on the reader, it was so much more convenient to find sites that are followed there.

  2. yeah, do they just make changes to make changes…things were fine….

    1. Yeah, the changes feel so unnecessary.

  3. Pooja! Get well soon my friend, its nice to see you again. I was wondering if I made an accidental keystroke on the Mac because the stats page changed. I absolutely despise what these people (you know who you are) have done.

Why can’t they just leave things as they are? If it works, don’t fix it! Perhaps its time to replace those who makes these poor decisions, as if we could… That’s unfortunate.

    1. Thanks you! Same here, I had to go in and check on my phone to make sure there was a design change and not just me messing something up. Agreed, these new changes are so inconvenient. Why even bother making them. True, if only.

      1. 🤙🏻❤️❤️☺️

  4. Yeah, I’m just now learning how to use the Reader and have been noticing some unwelcome changes to the stats page. Good to know I’m not the only one.

    1. It’s definitely not just you, these changes are frequent on WP these days and the annoying part is they usually just make things more inconvenient.

  5. I hope you’re feeling better soon!

  6. Health is a priority.
When you are healthy you can do many things (without getting ill).

I hope you solve your life problems.
Check the root causes. Try working and improving.
Or just give yourself more time (attention, focus).

    Stay happy and healthy, Pooja!😄

    1. So true, health is important. Thank you so much. You too 😀

  7. Congrats on the publication of your first book! Sending best wishes for a full recovery <3

    1. Thank you so much!

  8. WordPress probably made those changes just because, um.. …they have staff who’s full job it is to keep making changes to “improve” the platform and they try to keep busy… Anyway I’m sorry to read you’re not feeling well Pooja. Take careof yourself and hope you feel much better soon!!!

    1. I wish they would make good changes instead of these ones that make the platform more inconvenient. Now we have no way of searching sites we followed.
Thanks so much, I’m pretty much okay!

  9. Welcome to the club. I am still not feeling well either. Hope you feel better soon, Pooja.
And yes, I was thrilled when I returned to more unwanted changes too. Reader absolutely sucks right now.

    1. Oh no, that sucks. I hope you feel better soon too!
Urgh true there’s no way of searching followed sites now and that used to be so convenient.

      1. I used that feature a ton, so of course they ditched it.
I’m mostly just tired right now,
        How about you? Recovering?

        1. Most of us did so of course that’s the one thing they have to get rid of.
I’m thankfully okay now minus a bit of a runny nose.
Get lots of rest, your body needs it to recover.

          1. Yes, I’m trying to take it easy. Hope you are as well!
And now they have messed with it yet again and changed the way the posts are displayed in reader. 🙄
It’s also running slow af. At least for me.

            1. Yes, I’ve been trying my best to get some rest!
Of course they had to double down and make the design worse 😩 It’s slow for me too.

              1. Glad I’m not the only one. Every other site seems to be loading fine except WP lol

                1. Yesss everything else is loading fine and then WP takes longer now. So frustrating.

  10. I hope you feel better soon!

  11. Feel better soon Pooja and I 100% agree with you when it comes to WordPress constantly changing things around,Nothing ever seems better after they do it:(

    1. Thank you! Yes, the changes are so inconvenient they just confuse everyone.

  12. Feel better girlie!! And yes I hate the new change!!!!!!!

    1. Thank you so much!

  13. I’m sorry to hear about everything that has been going on lately. Please take your time and take care of yourself the best you can!! Praying for your recovery and that you will receive comfort and peace, Pooja 🥺🙏🏼💗💗 and yes it seems like WP is making a lot of changes lately. :,)

    1. Thank you so much. I so appreciate that 💕

  14. Hi Pooja,
I hope you feel better soon.
I was away since September myself, on a vacation break.
    Again, get well soon. 🙏

    1. Thank you so much. Nice to see you back and hope the vacation went well.

      1. It’s great to hear from you, and I’m sure your healing will be timely. 🙏
Thanks! Great and I’m all good to go through yet another winter, and you know our happy Winter Wonderland 🇨🇦 ☺.

        1. I am, thanks so much. That’s so nice, enjoy the beautiful snow ❄️🇨🇦

  15. Get better Pooja,
I also don’t know what’s the point of changing things around when they work perfectly fine. This is one thing I can’t stand about being an educator, they change things every year for no good reason.
I wanna yell at them: if it’s not broken, don’t fix it.
Next year though, our old new president promises to cancel the ministry of education altogether. It could get me sick real quick to be honest. But I believe in miracles

    1. Thank you so much.

I’m with you on that. The changes are so unnecessary and if anything an inconvenience to users.

That makes sense since people that are not well educated are easy to manipulate like his current followers.

      1. I hope we can handle all the coming changes

        1. I know it’ll be tough. The whole world is sort of holding its breath. But you guys are strong, it’ll be fine.

          1. Yes, we are 😁

  16. We love your presence here, Pooja-even if it’s a half baked Pooja. That said, you take care, health should always be a priority, come what may!

    1. Thank you so much!

  17. I hope you feel better soon and I am sorry you are also dealing with some bullshit. Also, some people’s blogs are loading messed up for me. They always have to mess around with crap.

    1. Thank you and sorry you’re dealing with stuff too. Life is tough some days.
Some blogs are getting messed up for me too and searching for blogs I follow has become so unnecessarily complicated now.

  18. I never really like the changes. But I also know they’re going to keep happening. So, at this point, I’m just along for the ride. *Sighs*

I hope you feel MUCH BETTER soon, Pooja. 🙏🏾🩵

    1. Thank you! So true, we can’t do anything about it so we just have to go with the changes and adapt 😩

  19. 🙏🌹

    Aum Shanti

  20. At some point in life, there’s a ton of realization and revealing of hidden stuff that we’ve outgrowned. This results in the crumbling of relationships, friends, and routines, and they can even manifest as physical ailments. Hope you adapt and get well soon.

    1. Thank you so much. Yes, that’s so true. I think that’s a big part of why I was feeling so unwell.

  21. Get well soon Pooja!

  22. First of all I wish you a speedy recovery, Pooja. Yes like many other bloggers, I do not know why they keep changing things. Also congratulations for your book. Always keep strong my dear friend. 🤗

    1. Thank you so much. Yes, the changes seem so unnecessary.
      Much appreciated 🤗

      1. You’re welcome 🤗

  23. Hope you are feeling better, Pooja!

    1. Thank you, I’m much better now!

  25. Hope you are OK Pooj!!??

    1. I’m okay now, thanks!

  26. Sending positive and healing energy your way. Hopefully you are back up to full party mode by the time Santa arrives.
Totally agree with you about the changes. Anything computer or phone related, just stop making changes for the sake of making changes or at least have an option to roll back to what it was before.

    1. Thank you so much! I’m okay now and back to unpacking lol.
Yes, these changes are so unnecessary. If anything, they’re making the platform worse.

      1. Glad to hear you are okay now. Good luck with your unpacking. I have most of my boxes unpacked now and I can see my living room floor, so I consider that progress, in spite of a lot of organizing to do now. By organizing, I mean what to throw in the trash or donate to charity, lol.

        1. Thanks so much. Haha yes, so much of my stuff went to charity too but I did that before packing because I was too lazy to pack and unpack it lol. Glad you’re making a lot of progress with the unpacking.

  27. Well, well being is important, so if the tears well-up, drink well from the wellness well because the WP stats say that I’m speaking to you from 8 countries simultaneously as one visitor. It must be a tryout for Santa’s magic sleigh that’s moving to the South Pole to better accomodate folks in the Southern Hemisphere. As they say, if the well is too deep, drink bottled water, and if the river is too wide, drink champagne to celebrate bubbles without troubles with truffles from 8 countries.

    1. Yes, I think I need a nice glass of bubbles right now lol.

  28. Get well soon Pooja🤍

    1. Thank you 🙏💕

  29. Ughhh, I really hope you can get better sooner than later. When you are not well, everything seems worse.
But sadly, what WP is doing is even worse 🙁 Because I am on a paid plan, I can email their support. I sent them a long’ish email complaining vociferously about the changes. I got a very patronizing response which boiled down to “we know people don’t like changes, too bad”. They will not be walking this back unfortunately 🙁 🙁
I am about to quit and head back to blogspot and start all over again
    ~cries

    1. So true, when you’re feeling sick you kind of just don’t enjoy anything at all.

I think so too, it’s just going to get worse. Just like what they did to Tumblr. I plan to send a complaint too although I’m sure their response will be the same as it was to yours 😔

The only issue I have with other blogging platforms is that they don’t have this sort of community.

      1. Yeah, blogspot has no notification, which stinks 🙁

        1. Yeah, that sucks. Honestly, the community is the only thing keeping me here. No other platform I’ve been on is like this.

          1. I fully agree.

  30. Get well soon, friend!

    1. Thank you so much!

  31. I hope you feel better soon Pooja..

    1. Thank you 🙏

  32. I’m so sorry to hear that life is coming at you full-on at the moment, Pooja. Unfortunately, this is something I’m all too familiar with, and the reason I’m presently not checking on anybody’s posts. So, there’s lots of empathy for you, here.

Whatever illness you’re dealing with, I hope recovery is on the way. It’s good that you are listening to your body. Sending lots of Love your way.

    1. Thank you so much. I’m so sorry you’ve been having a tough time too. I hope things get better for us soon.

Thanks and sending lots of love your way too 💕

  33. First of all, I really hope your health issues are getting better, and secondly, I totally agree with you: WordPress changes usually make things worse

    1. Thank you so much. Yes, the changes seem to unnecessary.

      1. You’re more than welcome!
        . ( ̄ε ̄@)

  34. I hope you feel better soon, Pooja! 💞 I’m glad you are giving yourself the space and grace to pull back and rest. 💞

    1. Thank you so much, I’m pretty much okay now! 💕

  35. You were quiet for a hit, thought you were busy. Sorry to hear that you’re not doing well, Pooja. Please, do look after your health. My world is a better place with you in it, my friend. ☺️

    1. Thank you so much, I’m pretty much okay now. Yeah, I was a little busy but mostly it was because I wasn’t feeling so well. Thanks ☺️

      1. You’re welcome

  36. change for change

    how annoying

    really timmy?
    methinks not

    1. Exactly, they just make the worst changes for the sake of it. So annoying.

      1. not sure if this error 403 is on wordpress or the person claiming to be thobile simeline. btw yesterday was the anni of kenyan independence. wow

        1. Yes, it was just recently our Independence Day 😊

  37. I love your guideline for not posting when you’re not into it. Also think you can feel that a lot of the time, too. I never want to feel I’m ‘taking’ someone’s time, if that makes sense. <3 Feel better, Pooja.

    1. Thank you so much. Yes, I think we can sense usually when someone is forcing themselves to post and it doesn’t feel great.

  38. Oh, Pooja, I am sorry that you are ill. Sending healing and positive vibes, my friend. 💐
WordPress will always be making changes, whether or not we like it. As long as my site operates properly, I move on.

    1. Thank you so much, I’m doing okay now 😊 Yes, it’s always going to change. We just have to adapt. Whining sometimes helps lol 😂

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja! From one whiner to another, I agree! 😅

        1. Whining makes everything better lol 😂

          1. Absolutely! ❣️😅

  39. Hey Pooja. I think WordPress’s best days are behind us. The goal was to make connections, yet now each site is just following trends, keeping up with the latest buzz. I hope you feel better friend 🙂

    1. Thank you so much. Yes, I very much agree. WP is no longer what it once was. Now, it’s like a popularity contest with them pushing popular blogs on our Readers instead of the ones we follow.

  40. Hope you make a full recovery, and are back to being your old self soon.

    1. Thank you, I’m doing okay now.

  41. I hope you feel much better soon. WordPress seems to change things just as I get comfortable with things the way they are,

    1. Thank you so much. Yes, the changes are getting too much and too often.

  42. It sounds like you’ve had a lot on your plate lately, both emotionally and physically. It’s great that you’re listening to your body and giving yourself the space to heal and process. Blogging should always be something that brings joy and fulfillment, not another source of stress, so taking that step back was a smart move. Your honesty about needing a break shows how important it is to prioritize mental and physical well-being, even when other obligations or hobbies are calling.

As for WordPress… whew, the frustration is real! It’s so disheartening when a platform you love keeps making unnecessary changes that don’t seem to improve anything. You’re definitely not alone in feeling annoyed about it! Hopefully, someone in charge at WordPress realizes that sometimes, simplicity and consistency are what users appreciate most. Here’s hoping they stop fixing things that aren’t broken!

Take care of yourself, and don’t feel pressured to dive back into blogging until you’re fully ready. Your readers will always be here when you are! ❤️

    1. Thank you so much. Yes, it’s been a lot and a break was so necessary to recover fully.

Oh absolutely. I find it so ridiculous that WordPress refuses to listen to it’s users to make helpful changes but yet makes unnecessary changes all the time.

Thanks, I appreciate you saying that! ❤️

  43. Drat, Pooja (yes, I say things like Drat), I’m sorry you’re ill. It’s good you’re paying attention to how you’re feeling and then acting accordingly. I do hope you’re feeling better right away. As for WordPress, I don’t know why all the changes all the time. I find the changes add new complactions without enhancing service. Maybe adaptations are made to make the site cheaper for WP to run. I don’t know. Being ill, of course, does not make other frustrations easier. Hang on.

    1. I love the word drat, almost as much as the word guffaw.
Thank you so much. Yeah, the changes came at the worst time and are so unnecessary but little we can do about it.

  44. Don’t scare us like that! This is the first time I’ve commented on anything in months. Keep writing and inspiring us.

    1. Haha don’t worry I’m okay now and hope to start posting again soon. Thanks!

  45. I agree with you 100%! I hate they way they just make changes without asking anyone! But more importantly, I hope you get better!

    1. Thank you so much! Yes, the changes are actually making the platform worse which is so ridiculous.

  46. Glad you knew to take care of yourself and took a little time to do so. Always happy to see that you’re back. Honestly, I often don’t know what changes your talking about

    1. Thank you so much. Yes, a break was really necessary. The changes are on the stats page and Reader, maybe only on the desktop version.

  47. Everything is better when you feel good…well, maybe not WordPress!

    1. Lol at least they’re consistent with the bad changes!

  48. Hope you feel 100% better soon.
I agree with you about the useless changes. It is frustrating how often WP has been doing that.

    1. Thank you so much, I’m pretty much okay now.
Yes, the changes make the platform worse. I wish they would just leave us alone.

  49. Hey Pooja <3 … I hope you feel better instantly b/c you are missed and hope you get a chance to pamper yourself with all your favs (music, food, rage exercise … lol) anyways, wishes for finishing the year strong !!!

    1. Thank you so much, I have been doing just that. Hope you’re better now as well!

  50. Hope you feel better soon, Pooja! ❤️

    1. Thank you so much! ❤️

    1. Will do, thanks.

  51. I wish you all the best and hope you feel better!

    1. Thank you so much!

  52. This post is ill, Pooja! But I hope you’re feeling better. Yeah, don’t blink for too long, something on WP that isn’t broken will get “fixed.”

    1. Thank you so much, I’m much better now! Urghh yes the changes are getting ridiculous.

  53. I hate it when they make absolutely ridiculous changes. I wonder who signs off on these.

As for having bad days and when blogging feels like a chore than fun, it seems totally relatable to me. I’ve been going through a phase like that myself too. I’m sorry that you’ve going through it as well. Wish you a speedy recovery, Pooja. I hope that you feel much better soon!

    1. Yes, the changes are so unnecessary and I hate how it looks now.

I think that happens to most of us unfortunately. I guess, we just have to try to remember why we started blogging in the first place.

      Thanks so much 😊

  54. Sorry to read you’ve been ill! I hope you get well soon.

    1. Thanks so much!

  55. […] I’m Ill (Not In The Good Way) […]

    1. Thank you!! ☺️

  60. Glad to read you’re feeling better. Thanks for reading my post.

    1. Thanks so much and you’re very welcome.

  61. I suspect the connection between you finding out some truths in your life and your health are connected. It’s surprising how our emotions are directly linked to our bodies!

Hope you’re processing what you need to and that your health is improving.

    Happy Holidays!

    1. Yes I’m sure that you are connected! I’m doing much better now. Thank you and happy holidays to you as well!
