In Her Hearts Garden

The beautiful maiden

Stole all the hearts

With her doe eyes

And pink lips

The flowers in her curls

As mesmerising as she

In Her Hearts Garden

All the young men lined up outside her house

Begging for a chance

Yet she never so much as spoke a word to them

Didn’t even glance at them

For her heart was already taken

By the one thing she loved most

In Her Hearts Garden

About “In Her Hearts Garden”:

In Her Hearts Garden is a response to fellow blogger, Kevin’s, No Theme Thursday prompt post for this week. The images used were created by him for NTT. Do check out his post for more prompts.

The poem was inspired by Kevin’s images. I love when multiple of the images just happen to work well together. And I felt these ones did because the painting on the wall in the image with the violin looks similar to the image of the young woman. At least to me it does lol. Or maybe I’m just seeing things and losing my mind. After editing my manuscript nonstop for months now that is a very real possibility.

As for the poem, I always love when people are multidimensional. When they break free of norms and do what they love instead of what they are supposed to. That’s what this poem is inspired by.

What did you think of the poem? Let me know in the comments located below because I would absolutely love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!

    1. Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed the poem!

    1. Thanks so much and yes so true.

  22. Beautiful poem! I’m a christian and your poem makes me think about what we woman in christian circles say. There usually tend to be more Christian woman than men, at least where i live. That makes it hard for christian women where i live to find a partner. It is often said though, that a christian woman should keep herself busy and by the time she knows it she will be too busy to worry about finding a husband. It’s when she’s not stressing over finding a partner when she meets some potential matches. It’s when you’re not looking for something when you finally find it if you get what i mean!

    1. That’s so true, oftentimes you meet the right person when you least expect it!

  23. Nicely done Pooja.. this sounds like you with your heart taken by your lovely novel coming soon! 💓

    1. Tnanks so much, hah yes exactly! 🥰

    1. Haha yes she is 🙂

  25. I love that she followed her heart and didn’t get led astray by pretty promises. Beautifully written, Pooja! 💞

    1. Thank you! Yeah, sometimes you just have to follow your heart and do what makes you happy 😊

  26. Very lovely, Pooja. My sincerest apologies for missing this. Thank you for letting me know. 😊🙏

    1. That’s totally okay and thanks for stopping by 😊
