Rainbow in the sky
Hugging the moon
And the stars
As they fall
Illuminating our souls
Flowers grow
Where there were once cracks
Our broken selves
Make us who we are
Mind filled with love and kindness
Curiosity and reality
Losing the battles
But the war shall be ours
From the rubble we emerge
Victorious
About “Hugging The Moon”:
I hope you enjoyed this poem. It was inspired when I was reading another poem that began with something to do with a rainbow. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find it but if I do I’ll link it on this post. But anyway, the first two lines just randomly popped into my head even though they don’t really mean anything. It was just so random but I was like you know what, imma go with it.
Sometimes it’s fun to just write whatever words come to mind without thinking about it. It’s like a writing exercise. So that’s how this poem came about. It’s odd but hopefully as fun to read as it was to write. And perhaps it has some sort of meaning in my unconscious. Not so much in my conscious lol.
Just a heads up, I will be switching off the comments on this post because I am hoping to go to the optician tomorrow which means I won’t have much time left to respond to comments. As much as I love reading your comments and chatting with y’all, I need to seriously get my eyes checked. Otherwise I’ll be blogging with a magnifying glass soon lol.
