Quote Of The Day

Wilma Rudolph Quote:

Wilma Rudolph Quote

What’s Up With Me?

A lot but mostly to do with my internal journey. I mentioned on one of my posts last week about being a Stoic and finding peace through Stoicism. And I’ve really been trying to implement it more in my life recently even though I have been implementing some practices for a few years now. One thing that’s been difficult for me is letting go control and just accepting things as they are. But I have been trying little by little to accept that things will happen the way they’re supposed to, I need to change my perception.

So, today I went grocery shopping with no list. I usually am very uptight about having a list and only looking at things I need. Today, I looked around and bought what I felt like getting and didn’t freak out about forgetting something. Sure, I forgot tons of stuff but who cares. Kidding lol. I actually didn’t forget anything and got to take a good look around too. It was so relaxing and fun. I totally get why people enjoy shopping so much now. It was a good experience. I know it doesn’t sound like a big deal but for an anxious, uptight person it actually is a pretty big deal.

  1. I found a new 2nd hand book store on the weekend. Listening to lessons for my therapy group. Also Listening to Guns and Roses right now

    1. That’s great about the bookstore and therapy. I’m not the biggest fan of Guns N’ Roses but some of their songs I really enjoy.

      1. Listening to old bootlegs of the Grateful Dead now. Been doing all my guitar practice in the park lately

        1. Oh nice, that’s great.

  2. It’s a wonderful quote, Pooja! I usually go grocery shopping without a list, yes I forget things too, no worries!

    1. Thank you! Yes, exactly- just enjoy the shopping vibe and if we forget something we can always go back!

      1. Yes. Let’s go shopping!

          1. It’s a long drive but I’ll get there! 😂❤️

  3. I’ve never heard this quote before, I love it! And the fact that you stepped out of your comfort zone and went shopping without a list is amazing! You took a step in the right direction 🥰✨️

    1. So glad you liked the quote, it’s relatively new to me too but it really stood out to me and I wanted to share it on here! Thank you so much 😊

  4. Great boujee

  5. It’s a very inspiring quote. I enjoy grocery shopping as it’s a very legitimate expense and I don’t feel guilty about it later 😂

    1. It is, I really liked the quote as well. Lol true, it’s the one time we can spend money without feeling guilty about it 😅

      1. My thoughts exactly 😂😅

  6. I love that quote. It encompasses what my boyfriend says, “Life is what you make of it.”

I hope you enjoyed your carefree shopping. 😉 Also, hi! 👋🏻

    1. Hi! 👋🏼
So glad you enjoyed the quote and your boyfriend is so right. Life is all about how we perceive things. We can drown in our misery or choose to be happy. I did, thanks so much.

  7. Great quote, Pooja. I think it’s true, and people should embrace it, helping those in need so they can also reach their dreams and potential.

    1. I so agree, dreams are important in life and we can help others achieve theirs as well as work on our own.

  8. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Wilma Rudolph quote! Congrats to you once again for kicking ass, and enjoying something outside of your normal routine and comfort zone. 💪

    1. So glad you loved the quote, I did too and as soon as I read it I knew I wanted to share it here! Thanks so much, it was nice to do something new that made me happy 😊

  9. I’m thinking of the potential for greatness that is inside each one of us. Do we even know it’s there?
I wonder if we could find out more about one specific talent and just go for it? Could be the most satisfying thing ever.
Sometimes the problem is not the lack of talent but rather ability to see the one. Last week was kind of short but still good and a bit snowy. This week is going to be longer and warmer.

    1. Yes, we absolutely all do have potential for greatness but it depends on us whether we’ll achieve greatness or not. I wish we could, it would be nice if schools embraced that way of thinking and helped find our specific talent so we could nurture it from a young age.
      Have a wonderful week ahead.

      1. Thank you Pooja, I will

        1. You’re very welcome.

    1. Yesss labels and norms only hold us back, we must reach our true potential.

  12. I was fishing for some ideas on what to eat. In the supermarket I thought I heard people say that they were on a seafood diet that seemed to teach them about the Greek letter omega. I asked them if they were trying to be healthy and lose weight. They said that they were on a see-food diet: everything they see they eat. That’s why when I’m hungry I wear a blindfold and throw everything that has a nice shape into my shopping cart. When I get to the check-out counter the bill is about $1,000,000, so I return everything except a block of cheese from Finland and a red herring.
    I’m listening to Ray Charles:

    1. Oh nice, I love Ray Charles and that song is one of my favourites.
In that case, I’m on a see-food diet too.

  13. I hate grocery shopping. Thankfully, Mrs B doesn’t, so she does it all 😀

    1. That’s good, grocery shopping really lowkey sucks for those of us that don’t enjoy it lol. But this time was fun for me so I didn’t mind too much.

  14. The power of the mind is awesome.

  15. lady gaga. gag gudka. anyway . next time take the list. you ll forget anyways. that s the point.

    1. Nope, no more lists for me!

      1. oh my good golly gosh! lmao

  16. That’s a great quote, Pooja. We make a list, otherwise we forget stuff. I usually listen to oldies – classic rock.

    1. I only recently came across the quote but I really liked it too. Generally I make lists too (and still somehow forget stuff lol) but I wanted to try something new for a change. Oh wow, that’s cool. I love classic rock.

      1. Lists only work if we remember to bring them with us. LOL

        1. Lol don’t I know it 😅

  17. Great quote and great practice, Pooja and hey you didn’t forget anything.. that’s amazing. If I didn’t make a list, I’d forget everything.. lol 😂

    1. Yesss I always forget when I make a list too so I was shocked. This is your sign to show up without a list 😅

      1. Love that!!! ❤️👍🏽💓

  18. That’s so inspiring. I needed to hear this right now – thank you, Pooja!

    1. Thank you and so happy to hear that!

Oh man, Gaga just keeps getting better. I love that she’s not trapped into the beauty queen image, allowed to be gorgeously monstrous. 😀 And that hat! :::swoon::::

Your observation re shopping is a big insight, that when our minds are open we can find ease in. I won’t say ‘no matter what the environment’ because I don’t know about that and don’t want to test it, but this is an experience I had with malls, too, loathing them until someone shifted my view. Some days I still can’t endure them, but occasionally I can really enjoy it now.

    1. Yessss she’s still so unique and her own self. It’s really cool. She’s my fav beautiful monster 🙂

Absolutely, it’s all about our perception of things. When my body and mind was at ease my mind worked well and I remembered every item I needed and some I hadn’t even thought to get but needed. I generally don’t like malls either but once in a while is fun haha.

  20. I listen to all kinds of music but rarely watch music videos. Lady Gaga is mesmerizing, theatrical, and precise. What an entertainer. Love to you, dear Pooja.

    1. She really is, she was born to be a performer. Thanks and love to you as well. Hope you’re doing well.

  21. Excellent quote and it’s too bad so many people do not try to tap into that potential.

    1. I very much agree, we all have so much potential but not everyone lives us to theirs.

  22. What a great quote… you always find the best quotes! Keeping on the path of your personal journey is hard work but worth it. What am I listening to this week? Well, one of my favourite genres is progressive rock especially stuff from the 1970s that I somehow overlooked at the time, so I’m checking out a lot of that.

    1. Thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed the quote! Oh nice, I studied music of the 60’s and 70’s so it remains one of my favourite eras when it comes to music. Hope you enjoy, 70’s has lots of great stuff!

      1. My pleasure!

Oh, I did not know that.! I remember you saying a couple of times that you studied country music but learning about the 1960s and 1970s must have been very interesting! It was indeed a great era, and much of it is still so relevant.

        1. Yes, so much cool music in the 60’s and 70’s too. I took a lot of courses that had to do with music which was really fun!

  23. Shopping without a grocery list is like flying an airplane without instruments, Pooja! You’re serious risk-taker, LOL!

    1. Lol yessss it felt like I had gone bungee jumping with no rope lol!

  24. Wow! I have never tried shopping without any list. But it sure seems liberating and fun.

    1. Give it a try, it’s a fun experience!

  25. Always a huge step when you take it out of your comfort zone! Glad it was an awesome experience, Pooja! 💞💞💞

    1. Yesss and sometimes it can be a lot of fun to try new things! Thanks 💗

  26. Yes…this is for real and that greatness will show up when we need it most.
