Georgia O’Keeffe Quote

Quote Of The Day

Georgia O’Keeffe Quote:

Georgia O’Keeffe Quote

What’s Up With Me?

It’s been another weird week with a lot of ups and downs. But I think I’m slowly but surely moving forward in my journey and living my desired reality. One lesson the Universe keeps pushing my way is that you can’t save anyone from their destiny. We try so hard to protect those we care about but at the end of the day they make their own choices. If they choose to make decisions we can so clearly see are not good for them then that’s their choice. We can’t change anyones destiny, not even our own.

In other news, remember I told you I was going to meet someone? Well, I did over the weekend and that was really cool. In a platonic way of course but it’s nice to make a new friend. More on that on a later post. But yeah, happy about the progress.

What I’m Listening To This Week:

This song from The Righteous Gemstones has been stuck in my head. The new season is coming out so they’re using it to promote the show so I keep seeing it everywhere and I can’t stop singing it lol.

What are your thoughts on this Georgia O’Keeffe quote? What are you listening to this week? How was the last week for you? Any plans for this week? Let me know in the comments because I would absolutely love to hear from you. Or simply stop by and say hi!

I love the quote. It reminds me of a similar one that I try to live by. “Feel the fear and do it anyway.” If I didn’t I wouldn’t do anything or much of anything.

    1. That’s a similar one and another quote that I think makes so much sense.

  3. My take on the O’Keefe quote is a bit different. What I want to do never seems to stop adding on new things I want to do after I’ve done things. That’s what I’m terrified about. It’s nice that you have met a new friend. I feel there’s a special someone about to make an appearance for you P.J.

    1. I totally get what you mean, so many items on the list but so little time. Aw, thanks someone else told me that too which is such a weird coincidence.

  4. Wow, I’m glad that I haven’t lived every day of my life terrified! 😂💀

    1. Lol that’s good! 😅

      1. 😂😂

  5. Thanks for the post

    1. My pleasure.

  6. My week had its ups and downs, mostly on the writing aspect of my life. It seems that whenever I make any progress with anything, it’s two steps forward, one step back.

Re the O’Keefe quote…I’m not the bravest person on Earth, but I’m not terrified every waking minute, either.

    1. Yeah, it’s the same for me too especially with writing which really slows down progress.

That’s great. I think people with anxiety like myself have a lot of anxiety just existing but it’s important to not let that stop us.

  7. Hi Pooja, I had an awesome bday party with lots of friends and I was so overly excited that I couldn’t sleep all night. The cool thing is everyone I invited showed up and we occupied the tea house completely, it has never happened to me before. After that we all went to the food court and it was wonderful too. Lots of positive interactions that kept me up all night. Life is just truly wonderful at times, so I suggest leaving the horrors behind and indulge ourselves in a bit of pleasure like true hedonists should 🙂

    1. How amazing, happy belated birthday. That must have been so nice, I’m glad you had a wonderful time with those you love. Haha yes, that is the hedonist way and nothing wrong with seeking pleasure 🙂

      1. Thanks for writing this, Pooja, I hope you are having a nice week as well

        1. I am, thanks so much.

  8. Great post 💜
    💯🌅 Happy Tuesday 🫂🌎

    1. I’m so glad you were able to turn your life around and focus on the positive instead. I’ve been working on doing just that. I still experience anxiety sometimes but I’m trying to focus on the positive instead.

      1. SMiles i think

  10. Interesting quote, Pooja. I’m familiar with some of her work, but not much about her personal life…I looked her up to see if she had suffered any early trauma or something. Wow, what a life. She lived to be 98 and lived in both NYC and New Mexico. Survived the Spanish Flu, married a famous photographer, lots of other stuff. Worth a 5-min read.

The quote… I admire her for pushing through her fears; sometimes very anxious people become almost immobile. But I couldn’t imagine being terrified every day of my life 😱😳😑

    1. Yes, she had quite a life and it’s amazing that she didn’t let any of the set backs hold her back from achieving her goals. I used to be terrified every single day due to my anxiety disorder, it was awful. So glad I’m so much better now.

  11. Only a couple of times in my life when I could describe and event as threatening but never terrifying. I guess I’ve been lucky.

    1. Yes, that’s really lucky. I used to have a lot of anxiety which made me terrified all the time but thankfully I no longer struggle with it.

  12. I love some of Georgia O’Keefe’s artwork. I can relate, to a certain extent, to her quote!
I’m pleased you’ve made a new friend – I hope it goes well for you. 😁🌻

    1. Her artwork is amazing, I love the pieces with flowers. Thank you so much 😊

      1. Yes, her flower pieces are beautiful 😍
        You’re very welcome Pooja 🧡

  13. 🙏🌹👍

    Aum Shanti

  14. Yep. My guy’s most stellar physical therapist said to me, “You — stay in your lane. If he doesn’t want to get better, there’s nothing you can do about it.” It’s true. I can only effect my own destiny. Well, not precisely true. We all effect each other, but chiefly by paying attention to ourselves. That’s the secret way to effect others positively. ❤️ Thanks for another great post, Pooja!

    1. Absolutely, we can only control ourselves and our own choices. With everyone else, the best we can do is be by their side and support them when they need us. Thanks and I so agree! ❤️

  15. I like that quote and can relate. So many think I’m brave because of what I’m doing in Italy but I feel fear often. Actually, I guess that’s courage, being afraid of doing something and doing it anyway!🤗
I loved hearing you met a new friend. Makes life sweeter.💕

    1. I think so many of us feel so much fear but the secret is doing what we put our mind to regardless of the fear and anxiety. I really admire you changing directions with your career and starting in a different field. That really is brave 😊
It does, I love meeting new people 💗

  16. confronting and overcoming fears is a crucial part of living I reckon. Our subconscious holds us back with imaginary terrors. Do it and be damned. We only have one life.

    1. Absolutely, fear is always there but we have to live despite it.

  17. The quote definitely makes one think of anything that we thought would be risky and out of our comfort zone but we did it anyway and accomplished something extraordinary. Isn’t it something that most young people do? And yet as we grow older and more mature, we procrastinate about things and are scared to even try new things. Maybe this summer I will try to learn swimming 🙂

    1. So true, as we get older we get more reluctant to try new things. I think it’s because the trauma builds up and we see more of the darker sides of the world. But we shouldn’t let that hold us back. Oh yes you should, I learned swimming when I was younger and it can be fun. For me, I want to learn to ride a bike 🙂

  18. I’m glad your ‘meet’ went well! I agree that although we want to protect those we love, all we can do is advise and let them make their own decisions. Sometimes they surprise us, sometimes we help gather the pieces. 💞

    1. Thank you! Yes, exactly. That’s all we can do, if they make the right choices that’s great and if not all we can do is be there for them 💕

  19. Georgia O’Keeffe is a famous artist and, the author of many quotes. Her last name is spelled O’Keeffe, and there is an interesting article about it – https://news.artnet.com/art-world/georgia-okeeffe-mandela-effect-1570156.
My maiden name, O’Keeffe, is the same as hers and I often wonder if we are somehow related.
My favorite quote by her is – “I don’t see why we ever think of what others think of what we do—isn’t it enough just to express yourself.”
    ― Georgia O’Keeffe

    1. Thanks for letting me know, I updated the name. That’s really cool, have you ever checked your ancestry? She may really be related to you somehow.
That’s such a fantastic quote too, she seems like she was so wise.

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja. There are two spellings – O’Keeffe and O’Keefe which could be different familes? My dad, much older than my mom, and Georgia O’Keeffe were close in age. I should do some research.

        1. Yeah, definitely do some research and see where it leads. If nothing else, you’ll find out more about your distant relatives.

  20. That’s a great lesson to learn early in life and a stirring quote. Thank you, Pooja and a lovely week to you! 🌻

    1. Thank you so much and have a lovely week too, glad you enjoyed the quote! 😊

      1. Thank you! 🌞

        1. You’re very welcome 💕

  21. I absolutely loved the The Righteous Gemstones clip!

    1. It’s been stuck in my head for like a week lol, glad you enjoyed it!

  22. I lothat sure is a catchy song and a very funny series too:) I love the quote by Georgia O’Keefe and your intuition was right on, Pooja, about meeting somene interesting:)

    1. Yesss such a fun show and love this song in particular. So glad you enjoyed the quote and yes so glad I did meet someone new after all 🙂

  23. I like the Georgia O’Keefe quotation about fear. I guess she got to do what she wanted, regardless–and so should we. I hope there more ups than downs for you, these days and on.

    1. Yes, she achieved so much regardless of the fear which is really inspiring. Thanks so much and hope you’re keeping well.

  24. Yay! Isn’t making new friends and finding people you connect with darn so refreshing!?

    1. Yessss it was amazing!

  25. The quote is a good variation on “Feel the fear and do it anyway.” Sounds like things are generally moving in a good direction for you. Congrats on the new friend.

I’ve been listening to a lot of 1970s music lately.

    1. Thank you so much. Yes, I think so too.

Oh nice, the 60’s and 70’s are always my favourite when it comes to music.

      1. My pleasure!

Yes, there was a lot of good music back then!

  26. Fabulous quote, especially considering her work and presence in her time! So glad the meeting went well, and I hope this develops as you wish it to. New friend is a great feeling. <3

    1. Yes, she’s such an inspiration! Thank you so much and yeah making new friends is always fun.

  27. You grow wiser every day, dear Pooja. I see you working through life’s hurdles and admire you.

    1. Thank you so much, that’s so kind of you to say. And I feel the same way, you’ve been through so much and are still so strong and humble. It’s inspiring.

  28. Georgia has nailed it. If you ain’t terrified about certain things, and still functioning, then the meds are top notch. 👌.
Life is scary and beautiful at the same tome..

    1. Absolutely, fear is naturally but we have to live despite it 😊

  29. Spot on, Pooja!!!! Take the fear with and onward forward! 💓

    1. Thank you so much! 💕

Neat quote. Another one that won’t let me like it.

    1. Thanks so much and that’s okay WP is wonky sometimes.

  31. Great quote.

It’s really beautiful making new friends as an adult.😊

    1. Thanks so much. Absolutely, it’s such a great experience especially because making new friends as an adult is so rare 😊
