Quote Of The Day

Og Mandino Quote:

Og Mandino Quote

What’s Up With Pooj?

I’m back! Did y’all miss me? The only correct answer is yes or I will get my feelings hurt. It hasn’t been that long but it still feels weird. Like I’ve been away for ages. For those of you that don’t know or didn’t read my earlier posts, I had decided to take a break from blogging for a little bit. Unfortunately, one of my parents is having health issues and I want to be able to be there for them and help them in any way I can. But I’m back now, I can never really stay away from blogging for more than a couple of days.

In less depressing news, I’m spoilt for choice when it comes to what to watch these days. With the last season of You officially out (no spoilers please I’m watching it slowly and trying to savour it!) and The Last Of Us back for its second season I have so much to watch which I’m grateful for. Oh and apparently the second season of School Spirits is out too, I don’t know how I missed that!

So, that’s pretty much all that’s happening with me lately.

  1. Welcome back Pooja. I hope your mom is doing better… That quote is right on!!

    1. Thank you so much! It’s my dad that is having health problems but he’s slowly getting better.

  2. I missed you, but I knew you needed a break. Plus, I had faith that you’d come back eventually.

I’ve been listening to a mix of standards (especially “All the Things You Are”) and fllm scores/classical music.

As for the quote, it fits my philosophy about writing, even if Kindle Create creates some hassles.

What I’ve been doing…trying to promote my book, mostly. My friends Juan and Adria created a kick-butt promo video for “Reunion: Coda” (featuring a song parody I wrote for the novel). I also found a way to make sure I have the latest updated version of the Kindle edition…and today I ordered the paperback edition because my hardcover one is the one where I find all those things I need to fix!

    1. Thanks so much. Ooh that’s really cool I hope the video helps bring in more interest and it’ll be amazing when you get the paperback version!

      1. Yesterday, Amazon UK posted the first review of Reunion: Coda, so that was a nice ego boo.

The video is nice, and hopefully it’ll bring in some sales. “Hope Springs Eternal” and all that.

As for the paperback edition? My copy is marked “out for delivery.” I hope it contains the latest updated version…which is why I waited till yesterday to order that edition.

        1. That’s so exciting about the review, congratulations!

Fingers crossed it’s the latest version.

          1. Fingers…and toes….crossed.

  3. Welcome back! I hope your parent will get better sooner than later. Prayers up for their speedy recovery.

Take it “15 minutes at a time”, Pooja. 🙏🏾🩵

    1. Thank you so much 😊💗

      1. You’re quite welcome.

  4. That quote is so true

    1. I thought so too.

  5. Hey Pooj, good to have you back.
I hope your parent gets better soon.
I had a really good week subbing for a music teacher. Weekend we went to see some waterfalls. We also did Japanese gardens and rhododendron gardens (!) And now I’m back to high school subbing, it’s pretty chill. I’m enjoying it: Love is in the air, education can wait. LoL

    1. Thanks so much. Wow, that sounds like a wonderful weekend and a fun class to sub for. Haha yes, enjoying the moment.

  6. She be dropping them dope quotes like the realest bad bi**h on WordPress once again! That’s what I’m talking about! 😂 I’m so glad you’re back! I know this is totally random, but I’m hoping to see another “what really grinds your gears” post again soon if the future permits! Lol!

    1. Lol thank you! Are you a mind reader?? I have a “what really grinds your gears” post ready to post that I wrote a couple of days ago!

      1. I cannot confirm nor deny having potentially acquired that particular power during my time travels recently. 🤫🤭 Seriously though, that’s so wild! LOL!

        1. Ikr I was like what a crazy coincidence but now I’m just convinced of your psychic abilities 😅

  7. Welcome back, my friend. ❤️ I wish the very best for your mom or dad, hugs! 🙏🏻

    1. Thank you so much 😊❤️

      1. You’re welcome!

  8. Great post, great quote, welcome back

    1. Thank you so much.

  9. “Did y’all miss me?”
    Yes! We all missed you.
I thought, Pooja will stay away so I should also take a break from blogging.
A good thing about blogging is that you always get some written words (thoughts, opinions, experiences) on a topic of your interest.
FOMO is not. But… yes, your presence can be felt in blogging.

“But I’m back now, I can never really stay away from blogging for more than a couple of days.”
That’s called a real online addiction.😂😂 (Just kidding!)
When someone says such words about blogging I will consider that a healthy behaviour.
If you have said same about Insta or YouTube then I would have warned you, to not use the service.
    You are welcome, Pooja!

    It’s all okay here!
You choose when you want to blog and when you’ll be taking breaks.
Living a healthy life is important both online and offline.
If you aren’t available on the Internet for some days you aren’t missing anything significant.
Take care! Stay happy and healthy. 🙂

    1. Thank you. I missed WP too while I was away. Haha yes I may actually be addicted to blogging 😅
Yes, a balance is key. Online and offline both need to be balanced. Hope you’re doing well 🙂

  10. I hope your parent gets better and you enjoy the blessing of looking after them. A lovely quote. Thank you for sharing

    1. Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed the quote.

    1. Thank you and hope you have a great May too.

  13. Refreshing perspective

  14. Welcome back! I’m watching The Last of Us 2nd season and it’s great so far.

    1. Thank you! I’m hearing good things about TLOU from everyone so far, I’m excited to get back into it. I loved season 1.

      1. You’re very welcome. Yes, Season 1 was awesome. I binge-watched it over a weekend.

  15. 🙏🌹☯️

    Aum Shanti

  16. I like the quote, seeing as I planted potatoes today. 😉 I wish you and your parent the very best. May all be well.

    1. Ooh you have some good harvest coming your way 😀 Thanks so much.

  17. Welcome back. Hope your parent is feeling better. I have been working on vehicle maintenance and outside work that I didn’t get around to last fall. I have also been working on my songs, so getting tired of listening to my own music, while trying to figure out the animation process, lol.

    1. Thank you. Yeah, things are a bit better but still somewhat stressful.
Oh nice, I totally get it lol because I’m so sick of rereading my book every time I edit it haha.

  18. Welcome back! I wish you and your family good health.

    1. Thank you so much!

  19. Welcome back. Most importantly, may God protect you and your family.🙏🏽 Keep being a responsible daughter & an amazing writer💯🔥

    1. Thank you so much 🙏🙏

  20. Welcome back! Wishing them a smooth and quick recovery.

  21. Yesssss, you were missed. 🙂

    1. Thank you, I missed everyone here too 🙂

  22. It is good to see you back 🙂 I expect you’ll be taking more breaks if your parent’s health continues to be not good. Hopefully that won’t last too long though.
    Cheers!

    1. Thank you 🙂
Yes, I will be taking breaks when necessary but hopefully things will look up soon. Hope all is well with you 😊

  23. The quote makes perfect sense, Pooja. It reminds me of the saying “You reap what you sow”. And I’m glad you’re back and you were missed.

    1. Yes, very similar saying and makes so much sense. Thank you!

      1. Most welcome, Pooja.

    1. Yup, very true.

      1. white smoke s wisp tip this pope new. wordpress changes suck. now they say one third of my followers do not count. why is that anyways? whine! bitch! moan! complain! let s go call kip again. oh hey! our inner gudka is rising !

        1. That’s so awful, I’ve noticed my followers go down sometimes too even when I get new ones. WP is such a mess these days.

          1. what a load of caca was their explanation too!

            1. I got the same explanation smh!

              1. incredible nonsense for sure.

              2. and now there back. so trumpian. resist. and think omg what an asshole too!

  26. feel ya….my 90 year old parents are a challenge too? dad with dementia and just angry all the time, and my mom’s memory is gone, and with an austistic adult daughter at home, we always just say it’s hard but it is what is…..we just do the best we can, and well, life is just different. like this morning, my daughter started yelling at about 4AM for now apparent reason, now at 730 I guess it’s now either time for a nap, or home made pizza and watching election results..?

    1. So sorry to hear that, sounds quite stressful. Hope you’re able to take some time off from everything to relax and get some rest.

  27. Welcome back Pooja! Your quote reminds me of something a teacher for my young son said forever ago. “We try to offer many new experiences and topics so that the brain creates a new holding area for the information. The child can then add new information to the same area as they grow and they will use it to form connections and/or have it develop into a real passion. (This is a paraphrase, of course, haha.) 😊

    1. Thank you! That’s so interesting and I’m sure was great for your son. It’s very true. that’s why learning a new language is easier when we’re kids.

      1. Ahh, that’s a great point about language, Pooja! I hadn’t thought of that. 😊 Those little brains have little pockets everywhere; created, opened and ready to receive more information. It makes it so easy. Love it.

        1. Yesss kids are so ready to learn new things 🙂

  28. All the best to your ailing parent! I’m harvesting!

  29. Yes, I missed you!
    Love the quote.
Hope your parent gets well soon.😊

    1. Thank you so much! 😊

  30. Hello, quick recovery to your mom.

    1. Thanks so much.

  31. Welcome back. I hope your dad gets back to good health. I’ve had some personal issues that led me not to engage on WP. You that kinda moment when you realize there’s something about you that needs to change.

    1. Thank you so much. Sorry to hear that but I do totally get that feeling, I was that way at the start of the year.

      1. Thank you. It’s like you realize you weren’t living but playing a role.

        1. Yes, just going through the motions and doing what you’re “supposed” to.

  32. I hope you parent is doing better. A solid quote. Thank you for sharing and take care. 💝

    1. Thank you so much 💗

      1. You’re so welcome. 💗

  33. Live with heart, walk with intention, and remember: the future listens when you speak to it – through your actions.
So … plant with purpose, and trust—the soul knows when the soil is rich!

    1. That is so motivating to hear, thank you for the lovely comment!

  34. Love the quote and always miss you when you’re gone. Glad you’re back!! I have to play the song on sloooooow.. lol 😂

    1. Thank you so much, lolll that happens with hip hop 😅

      1. You’re so very welcome.. Ha ha! too funny! 😂😂

  35. I love the quote, Pooja, and of course, you were missed. But glad you’re back! 💕

    1. Glad you enjoyed the quote and thank you so much! 💗

  36. Sorry to hear one of your parents is having health issues, Pooja. I hope staying connected is a comfort and good outlet, but whenever you need a break, of course we’re happy to see you back! <3 I have nothing to recommend at the moment. Since Severance finished and with the move, I haven't been able to focus on anything except Project Runway reruns. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much. I totally understand, moving is so incredibly stressful and those comfort shows definitely help 🙂

      1. 🙂 They do! <3

  37. Welcome back, Pooja. I hope you are well and happy.

    1. Thank you so much, hope you are as well.

  38. Hey Pooja, I think the quote is quite timely. Of all the seasons in my life, it seems like now is when I need the reminder the most.

    1. Glad you enjoyed the quote. I’m glad you saw it when you needed it most.

  39. Take it from an older older woman…this is true advice😊.

    1. Even as someone in my twenties, it definitely feels true 😊

  40. Glad you are back. Sorry about your parent. Will pray

    1. Thank you, much appreciated.

  41. Yes! (Missed you.) And thanks for the show recommendations.

    1. Thanks so much, missed your poetry too.

  42. Welcome back, Pooja, of COURSE we missed you! Praying things get better for your parent, hard to see them struggling/hurting/ill.

Happy to see you are in the Bunker Squirrel again this month, awesome story and quite the twist! 💞💞💞

    1. Thanks so much, really appreciate that. Yeah, I was able to send in a story for this month which I’m happy about. Excited to read yours! 😊💗

  43. That’s the perennial dictum of all life… what you sow, you will Reap. I have firmly believed this quote in all.in many forms.

    1. Yeah, I strongly believe it too. We get what we work for.

  44. I hope that your parent is doing better now. Prayers for you and your family Pooja.

    1. Thanks so much, things are a little better now.
