Love Thy Neighbour

One of my short stories, Love Thy Neighbour, is once more published on Bunker Squirrel Magazine and on their Patreon page.

It’s a short flash fiction story about why minding your own business can sometimes be the best option. Especially when you don’t know the full story.

If you would like to read the story, you can do so on both Bunker Squirrel Magazine and Patreon since it’s now on Patreon too. I would love it if you would also leave a like and a comment on Patreon since you can do that there and help support BSM which has really helped provide a space for so many writers to share their stories, including myself.

Once more, I would like to thank T. C. Westminster for including me in this month’s edition of Bunker Squirrel Magazine. And for being really sweet and supportive of my writing. She’s such a wonderful person. You can find her on Bluesky or you can check out her book here. It’s a fantastic psychological thriller with a unique premise that you’ll love. You can also read more about the magazine and how to submit if you’re interested here.

Do let me know in the comments section below what you thought about Love Thy Neighbour or on the comments section on Patreon which I’ll also be responding on. Thank you for everyone who takes the time to read the story! This is one I’m really proud of and based on true events.

I recently published my first book and would love it if you took a minute to check it out here.

  1. Love ya work Pooj 🙏💙

    1. Thank you ☺️🙏

  2. Yep, your protagonist should have just read a newsmagazine or played Solitaire (Patience) instead of watching the neighbors from her perch by the window. Shades of both Alfred Hitchcock and Stephen King, Pooj.

    1. Thank you so much. Absolutely, she should have done anything else other than watch her neighbours and get involved in something that didn’t concern her.

That’s wonderful… Congrats on being published again. Mindful words indeed….
God also calls us to “love thy neighbour” with Grace and understanding, even when we don’t see the whole picture. 🙏

    1. Thanks so much and yes I think that’s very important in life.

  4. Congratsssszzzzz

    1. Thank you ☺️

  5. I thought it was a very profound story. Betrayal, disohonesty and what is the right thing to do? I think she did the right thing but it had bad consquences. Lies can’t go on for ever. I am not part of patreon and so nowhere to comment or like.

    1. Thank you so much. Yes, I think she tried to do the right thing but perhaps it wasn’t her place to get involved although of course she couldn’t know how badly it would end.

  6. awesome job Pooja!!!!!!

  7. I loved the story. I didn’t know that you got married, congratulations.

      1. I read the story. But couldn’t get it.

        1. Oh sorry to hear that.

  12. That woman was the textbook definition of a “nosy parker”. Now, at some point the husband was going to find out anyway, so I suspect the wife and lover were going to end up dead no matter what. But if the husband had had time to figure out what was going on, slowly, he might have chosen another route. Like investigating the lover and then destroying his life piece by piece 😉

    1. Yeah, I think she should have minded her own business anyway because he would eventually find out and that way she wouldn’t have to live with the guilt. Ah yes, destroying his life would be a much better form of revenge 😅
