Virginia Woolf Quote

Quote Of The Day

Virginia Woolf Quote:

Virginia Woolf Quote

What’s Up With Pooj?

This Virginia Woolf quote really spoke to me with where I am in my life this year. I remember going to my current therapist for the first time and telling her I had no idea who I was because I had spent my life being who everyone else needed me to be. With her help and conscious effort on my part, I am finally discovering myself and I love it. It’s like meeting myself for the first time and also realising that I’m enough as I am.

I straightened my hair the other day because I went for a wedding and thought I would share the pictures. It’s been ages since I’ve straightened my hair and honestly I don’t miss it. I like my curls. And just FYI, I haven’t smoothed my face to oblivion, my phone camera does that automatically especially at night because my phone is SUPER old. I usually use my cousin’s phone for my other pictures but I used mine for these. Apologies for the bad quality images, if anyone wants to take pictures of me pro-bono, I’m looking to hire lol… And yes my eyebrows are fully back- yay!

  1. I remember saying once “why do I dread going to places sometimes” and the reply was that we can sometimes dread not the people or the event but the donning of our social mask ..and that really hit me, this quote is the same. When we realise that nothing else is required other than to just be ourselves it is such a relief. And you look lovely Pooja, nice to see you 😊

    1. That’s so true, I’ve noticed as well that I’m no longer exhausted by socialising now that I try to be myself more. Thanks so much 😊

    2. We sound very similar 🤩 (you look lovely P🥰)

      1. Aw thank you! 😊

  2. Yaaassss! Your eyebrows look great!

    1. Thank you! I’m still waxing them myself but I’m A LOT more careful 😅

      1. You’re most welcome! I bet you are! You’re doing a great job! Save that money however you can!

        1. Yup, this is one of those things I can just do myself. Thank you!

  3. Great quotes, so true

    1. Thanks so much, glad you agree too.

  4. I love the quote, everyone should think that way. You look very beautiful, Pooja! 🥰

    1. I think so too, we should be ourselves as much as we can be. Thank you so much! 😊❤️

      1. You are welcome Pooja! ❤️

  5. It is a good quote. It is very common to feel that you have to behave a certain way or wear a mask. As you get older that need seems to become reduced.

    1. Thank you. I think so too, I’ve noticed that as I get older I’m much more comfortable in my own skin.

  6. Hi Pooja!
I don’t know why, posts like this make me PAUSE for some time. They talk to me directly.
I feel as if we two are sitting in a common room and discussing this basic stuff of life.

Like it’s good to get someone who hears you, and with whom you share how you feel. It’s a complete transparent and genuine process; no filters, no extra drama
So your phone’s camera isn’t bad too. My phone is one year old only, and it clicks blurry photos all time.😂 The increased brightness it also the by default feature of this phone’s camera.

When you see lots of images generated by AI who appears to be PERFECT the real blurry photos really gives them tough challenge. Life is blurry too.

I share a highlight: “With her help and conscious effort on my part, I am finally discovering myself and I love it. It’s like meeting myself for the first time and also realising that I’m enough as I am.”

Reading this made me happy regarding you, that you are able to discover yourself properly now onwards. Though I didn’t feel while reading your old posts that you didn’t know yourself enough.
Still if this self discovery was needed, you should surely😃 feel proud for your achievement.

Telling yourself that “I AM ENOUGH” is one of the best line, in your toughest time. Even I’m relearning that. I repeat that often in my mind.

    Thank you for sharing!😄🙏🏼
Have a nice week (at least decent) ahead! 👍🏼

    1. Thanks, I try to make my posts more conversational these days so I’m glad that’s coming through. Haha yes, most cameras are blurry sometimes but I felt mine was more blurry than usual this time.

Thanks so much. Yes, we are enough as we are. Have a great week too 😊

      1. So far it is all good.

Have a great you too, Pooja!

  7. 😁😁😁

  8. I like the quote. It is very true. I like your pics. Hope you had fun at the wedding.

    1. Glad you liked the quote and thanks so much. Yeah, it was a fun wedding.

  9. 🙏🌹

    Aum Shanti

  10. Love the quote – so down to earth. It reminds me of the saying – “Be yourself, everyone else is taken.” But, as you’ve mentioned, sometimes it takes a little soul searching to find ourselves! So pleased for you, Pooja; and you look just like you… 😉 😉 the way you should be… 😎

    1. A very similar sentiment. Yes, sometimes we need a little soul searching and someone to point us in the right direction! Thank you so much 😊

    1. Yeah, school and work tries to reshape who you are and eventually wake up and realise you have no idea who you truly are. But luckily, those of us that try to learn to be ourselves once more are able to rediscover the joy of just being.

  12. It’s a great quote. I think most of us, especially women, have felt how you have at some point, keep going! You look lovely in your pictures 🙂

    1. Glad you liked the quote and yeah I’ve talked to so many friends that have experienced something similar. Thanks so much! 😊

  13. I never tried to be someone else- though others tried to lecture me on changing my traits.

    1. I love that, I’m glad you didn’t let anyone change you and continue to be your authentic self.

      1. Haha! Perhaps others aren’t that happy about this 🥳🥳🥳

        1. That’s their problem, you keep being you 😅😉

  14. Great Virginia Woolf quote! I loved hearing how much you’ve grown in therapy in terms of sense of self and self-love. Made me smile.☺️

    1. Glad you enjoyed the quote. Thanks so much, it’s been really nice to rediscover myself! 🙂

  15. Great Quote👏 thanks for sharing Pooja, your new look is so cute and pictures taken are well 👌

    1. Thank you so much 😊

      1. You are welcome

  16. The quotation by Virginia Woolf is a good selection on your part, since what’s emphasized is who we are, apart and better from the mask or style (though I imagine there are times for these). I am reminded of the oft-quoted claim by Oscar Wilde that we might as well be ourselves since everyone else is taken. From one curled person to another.

    1. Glad you liked the quote. Yes, I think sometimes that mask is necessary and we should know when to pull back a little but for the most part we should try to be ourselves. Definitely a similar sentiment with that Oscar Wilde quote (one of my favs too!).

  17. Eyebrow game is fire! 😀

The quote is perfect. It’s so hard to learn to just to be comfortable in our own souls and skins.

    1. Thank you!! So true, it took me ages to even get to where I am now.

Enjoyed the quote. It’s great that you like the curls in your hair, but neat to try it straight too.

    1. Glad you enjoyed the quote and yeah it’s fun to try something new too.

  19. “with only one and a half eyebrows” 😂…lol, Pooja …i had missed that post – and I’m glad i got to go back to it through your link… 🤭 …i think you looked cute…especially with your hair there…

And you look great here ✨️… hair and eyebrows too…😋

    a profound quote shared … 🤍

    1. Lol glad you found it now and it was such a laugh when I was walking around with only 1 1/2 eyebrows 😅
      Aw thanks so much 💕

      1. pleasure…🤍

a lovely light nature you have, Pooja …✨️

        1. Life gets boring if we don’t laugh especially at our silly mistakes 😅

  20. Wonderful quote and photos, Pooja.

    1. Thank you so much.

      1. You’re very welcome.

  21. Nice pictures Pooja

    1. Thanks so much.

  22. Love Virginia Woolf. I overplucked my brows earlier this year, and they’re finally growing in. Yours look great.

    1. I’ve actually not read anything by Virginia Woolf but recently got one of her books on sale and am excited to read it. Oh no, glad they’re growing back though. Thanks so much.

  23. That quote is so true! Your hair is lovely, I had my eye on your glasses! I just got the same prescription put in an pair and am snooping around looking at different styles so thoughts automatically went there 🤣. Its so nice that therapy is helpful for you ✨️💗

    1. Aw thanks so much! I love these glasses and have had them for quite a while. I’m sure whichever you pick will look very cute!

  24. I’d love to have curly hair! I’m so jealous lol!

    1. It’s all fun and games with curls till you have to style it lol! 😂

This quote certainly hits home. Definitely something to remember.

    1. Glad the quote resonated for you as well.

  26. Yes you are pretty on the outside. But what makes you even more beautiful is you being you unapologetically like you have been! That quote absolutely says everything! 👍🏻❤️

    1. Aw thanks so much, that’s so sweet of you to say!! ❤️

      1. Absolutely! 😊❤️

  27. Stopping by to say hi to beautiful you. 👋🏻 Wonderful quote and author. I’m with you on curls over straightening. 👍🏻 Hope you’re having a wonderful week! 💛

    1. Hey, I’m so glad you enjoyed it and I am having a great week- thank you! Hope you are as well! 💗

      1. So glad! All is well. Thank you! 💗

        1. You’re so welcome, have an awesome weekend! 💕

  28. Yes my dear just be you 💕.

    1. Trying my best to do just that 😊💗

  29. Such a good quote and sentiment … btw, this post made me so happy! I love that you are kinda meeting yourself anew and that resonates, plus your pics are really pretty – I agree flat irons are weapons (lol) and my arms lose strength, and the back is never done right! Yours is flirty and cute … I do love the curls most though! 😀 Stay your perfect self!

    1. Aw thanks so much, I’m so glad you enjoyed it! The back is the hardest, mine always curls itself back even when I straighten it 😂 Aw thank you! 💕

  30. You’re beautiful, Pooja, and the quote is an excellent one to live by.

    1. Aw thank you and glad you enjoyed the quote.

  31. Hey Pooja,
It’s a nice quote, takes some time to fully comprehend but it’s totally worth it.
    – My week was busy with work, we are slammed due to black Friday, the deals started yesterday so the sales are out of control.
    – I could definitely take your pics the only problem we have to be on the same continent at least. Preferably same state, haha
    – Today I have listened to Gabor Mate, very insightful stuff as always. https://youtu.be/qiWRJK0WW4I?si=glf-GyQ_cMyuQ8XP
    – also I have made lentil soup which is great and kompot , stewed fruit drink you can have cold or hot. Made it with cranberries, dried figs and dried apricots.

    1. Thanks so much.

  32. Love the quote and love you and your new dew!!!! What I love the most is that you are happy in your own skin and know who you are! You are amazing and so beautiful inside and out, Pooja! 🩷

  33. Great quote 💓
    Grettings regards 🌎🇪🇦

    1. Thank you, nice to see you here again 💕

  34. I agree with the quote. When you feel good in your skin and accept yourself, there is no anxiety. There is calm. 🙂

    1. Yes, exactly. We feel so much more comfortable when we’re being ourselves.

  35. I love the quote, but making it reality is a LOT of hard work.

    1. That’s so true!
