Martin Luther King Jr Quote

What’s Up With Pooj?

It’s not been a particularly exciting week and I’m honestly thankful for that. I’ve noticed that since the last time I got Covid, I get tired faster and feel exhausted when I overexert myself. So, I’ve been trying to take it easy when I can and get more rest.

On the plus side, I saw a notification on my blog and decided to explore it. I was so happy and honoured to find out that Kevin from Being Kevin had awarded this blog post of mine the Blog Post of the Week Award. It’s a category he’s starting out on his blog and my blog post is the first one to win- yayyy! Thanks again, Kevin- this really made my day! If you haven’t yet visited Kevin’s blog where he shares his thoughts about a number of topics, feel free to do so by clicking here. I always enjoy his posts and I think a lot of you will as well.

    1. Yeah, I hear it’s pretty cold there at the moment. For sure, a lot of people are still fighting for equality yet it seems things are moving backwards.

  4. Hate is too much of a burden, I agree…
Love is not always easy but at least it’s kind, patient, bearing, believing and enduring all things.
Last week was great, I was back at school subbing – labor of love – and making plans for the Euro trip. This week I’m going to take it easy and rest more because I can. Tonight they say we can all see the northern lights here in Oregon, I have never seen those before. Wish me luck!

    1. True. I think hate comes easier however it takes its toll on us. Love is more difficult but it makes us better.
Ooh that’s exciting. Fingers crossed you’ll see them!

  5. 🙏🌹

    Aum Shanti

  6. That is a great quote. Congrats on winning blog of the week.

    1. Thanks so much and glad you liked the quote.

  7. Happy New year, Pooj. Rest well, and congratulations for the week award. You’re probably always up for the blog of the year award. ✌✨

    1. Happy New Year, have an amazing 2026 and thanks so much 😊

      1. A pleasure. Blessings to you

  8. Indeed, hate can only drive you away from your sanity

    1. Yes, absolutely.

  9. I fully agree with this quote. I hope you regain your energy dear friend.

    1. Thank you so much.

      1. You’re most welcome

  10. Love Weezer! Love this quote too.

    1. Glad you enjoyed both!

  11. Hey thanks for the shout out, much appreciated. I loved that post of yours and started my list of candidates for next year. I also push that out to sub stack. I love the quote, it is perfect. The covid thing is the endless gift. I never had it at the peak then I got it in July after landing in Brazil. It is horrible. Not terribly sick but very tired for a couple of weeks. Take care and keep posting.

    1. I’m really happy that you enjoyed the post and I appreciate you sharing your award post on both WP and Substack. Oh no sorry to hear that, it really does zap all the energy out of you. Hope you’re better now. Thanks so much.

      1. Oh yea much better now. Strange condition. I felt fine until I had to move around. Then you get exhausted, Covid was a pita but it was gone in about two weeks. Thanks

        1. Glad you’re better now. Yeah, it does that.

  12. Congrats on winning the blog of the week .
The quote is beautiful and something I aspire to. The week has started at a hectic pace, but I am determined to be disciplined this year and not overextend myself. To allow room for the things I love doing.

    1. Thank you so much. Yeah, it’s hard to let go of hate sometimes but it’s important to do so.
Sorry to hear that but I’m glad you’re sticking with it and not overextending yourself. It’s so important not to take on too much.

  13. That is an awesome quote, Pooja. I love Kevin’s idea about Blog Post of the Week Award, and congratulations! 💕

    1. Glad you liked the quote and thanks so much! 💗

      1. You’re welcome, Pooja.

  14. I love love. Good way to go… but I still think the hateful stuff needs calling out.

    1. I agree, we can’t be silent but also we have to make sure not to be consumed by hate.

    1. Thank you so much! Hopefully, we’ll get better.

  18. Such a wonderful quote. I wish more people in the world felt the same!

    1. Thank you and I wish that too!

  19. I’m glad and relieved you’re going slowly. That’s a Buddhist salutation you know: Go slowly. I appreciate your having an easier-moving week. The quotation from Martin Luther King, Junior, sounds both ideal and practical. Love is easier, so let’s go with that. Congratulations on the win and being the first! Your blog, of course, is an excellent candidate for the recognition.

    1. Thanks, I like slowing down I think I needed to. Agreed, really like this quote of his too. Thanks so much!

  20. We must savor the exhale times. 🙂

    1. Yup, always. 🙂

  21. Love the quote and love Weezer. They were great at Coachella last year.

    And congrats on the award!

    1. Ooh so cool, I’ve never seen them live. Thanks so much!

  22. Great quote! Hate is so heavy it causes disease. Congratulations on the award, well deserved!❤️

    1. I totally agree, hate is the reason for so many mental and physical issues. Thank you! 💗

  23. That Dr. King quote has changed my life in ways beyond imaginable! 💗

    1. I’m so glad to hear that, it’s one of my favourites! 💕

  24. Congrats on your blog of the week! Great quote btw, but then again Martin Luther King was inspirational!

    1. Thanks and yes he absolutely was!

  25. Great Quote 👍

  27. Congrats, Pooja! 💞 Well deserved 💞

    1. Thank you so much! 💕

  28. This is another great quote from Martin Luther King, Jr, Pooja. Dwelling on any type of negative is too heavy, too disturbing.

    1. One of my favourite quotes by him and yes I totally agree.
