The Women Who Helped Bring My Book To Life

Sharing The Love | More Wonderful Reviews For Perfect | The Women Who Helped Bring My Book To Life

Behind every author, there is an array of people that helped bring their book to life. Today, I want to thank the women who helped bring my book to life.

The Women Who Helped Bring My Book To Life

Starting with my best friend, Dentmistry. She had been helping me from the very first draft of the book and truly this book wouldn’t be here without her. To have her by my side is one of the biggest blessings in my life.

Next, I want to thank Maddie, my editor. She really went above and beyond for me. I didn’t realise how many things I had missed till she mentioned them and it made a huge difference. She is also just super sweet and fun to work with. She introduced me to my first proofreader, Brandee, who also did an amazing job catching the little things we had missed. Also, so easy to work with and a wonderful person.

I want to also thank Abigail from Wild Ink Publishing, who designed and formatted my cover and book itself too among many other things. She did an incredible job. I just drew a sketch of what I wanted and she brought it to life. And I couldn’t be more grateful for all she did for me with the book.

I decided to edit the book some more after my first proofreading so I ended up getting it proofread again and this time with Brandi Shaffer who seriously did an incredible job too. When I say she went above and beyond, that’s not even a slight exaggeration.

Finally, I want to thank Brittany McMunn who is unfortunately no longer with us. She helped me with my first book and was helping me with this one too. During this time, I got the unfortunate news that she suddenly passed away in her sleep one night. Of course, it was a devastating shock for us all. She had helped so many authors with their books and was genuinely one of the sweetest people. She will be missed. As you can imagine, this was extremely difficult for her family too. To suddenly loose a spouse and a mother is no small thing. They have a GoFundMe if you would like to donate: https://www.gofundme.com/f/supporting-brittany-mcmunns-family and all proceeds will go to her husband and two young daughters.

Final thoughts

I want to thank all these amazing women who helped bring my book to life for all they did. It wouldn’t be here without them and I can’t be more grateful. Also, FYI I didn’t specifically look for women to work with. It just worked out that way lol.

My first novel, Perfect, is now available on Amazon. If you would like to read it, please click here.

  3. Hi Pooja, thank you for being such a strong foundation for the writing community; you’ve really shown us the power of connection. I’m currently on a bit of a reading hiatus, but your new book has me intrigued! Once I’ve cleared my backlog, I’d love to check it out. Is it a fiction or non-fiction title? Apologies if you’ve already shared this, but I’d love to hear more! 🙂
